Oh yea it's dad- I mean, captain da- I mean Rum. Captain Rum. Very serious. Very intimidating, especially the first impression of him. It... Doesn't really CHANGE, but.. the more Gin knows Rum, the more it feels he's intimidating for somewhat.. deeper reasons than just being a grizzled, uncaring sea wolf. He DEFINITELY does not seem to fit the 'uncaring' part.
Gin would even.. consider him a friend. ... Although he's not sure if Rum feels the same. D-does he think of Gin as a worse version of Whiskey? Is he disappointed in Gin's general non-piratey attitude?? Gin REALLY does not know - but he intends to fix any of that by working hard as the best navigator he can be!
Rum enjoys Gin's company. The Lad is the nicest person on the ship, and despite what they //do// on the ship, Gin never really seems to lose any of that spirit. When Whiskey left, Rum was angry, and perhaps saw any of Gin's failures as a sign that he wasn't as good as Whiskey - that no one ever would be - but as time went on and Gin made the role his own, Rum's anger subsided, and he appreciated Gin in his own right - weatherbending aside, Gin is good at what he does, and he makes Rum proud - he hopes that his initial anger didn't offput the poor boy, and tries to encourage him where he can, though Rum is awful at emotions and it probably comes off as awkward small talk. Regardless, Rum appreciates Gin - he's a valued member of the crew, and Rum can't imagine life on The Spirit without him.
Uh, Sam's friend? They've met... Occasionally, and from these few meetings the general gist is 'Cool Kid TM', likes Taph and has earned Sam's trust.
Taph can't say they know much about Serra or that they... Care a lot, but they're on good terms. That is of course, unless Serra just puts on a smile and pretends to be ok with Taph just so Sam's not upset. Then she can go fuck herself - Taph doesn't need some popular person's pity over them NOT being popular.
The. Fuck. WAS. He? It's been bothering Taph ever since, and the fact that he'd just rather stay mysteeeerious about it doesn't HELP. Well. Other than that? It was a nice talk. Taph enjoys it when someone actually stays by their opinions and doesn't just admit to anything you might say so they don't OFFEND anyone, but aren't stubborn enough to keep their opinions unchanged forever. At least, that's what Boa seemed to be so FAR. And if he wants to know more about their powers, they're willing to cooperate, as long as he gives his body up for experiments after death or something. They'd like to see his brain, if he has one.
where's ur ticket bitch
Aww boo!! The meanie in red who ruined her funnnn!!! (‘A`)
He tried SUPER hard to bring her down in uhhhhhh the Handrevei town and that was, like, lame-o! He'd show up and be all like 'grr i'm dumb and unfun and gonna blast u and grab u' and Brattle'd be all U G H and whoosh away like \(`ヘ´)/
but now she's on a train and he's a dummy and he can't catch her yayayay who wins now!!!! :3ccccccccccc
She's adorable! ...Or.. was! E-Elec's still not sure if she's still even alive, hopefully so. Sadly, she couldn't really attend the er, auditioning, but, she's trying to spread the word! While Elec CAN'T really see herself in any role in a live action anime of all things, she really appreciated the inkdrian's enthusiasm and compliments, and will prooobably watch that show now. And she wonders if Ty will ever find that fairytale like cloud phenomenon she was talking of! She'd like to find that now, too!!
Norrin may find Adeo a bit strict and aggressive, there's a lot of worth in him nonetheless. Sometimes he actually thinks to himself that Adeo might be the ideal to strive for in life, especially now that he has seen him talk about his brother with such endearment.
Adeo is very smart! Though he seems to lack wiseness sometimes, which is weird for Norrin to say as the most unwise creature in the land. For Norrin it's legitimately scary to see Adeo, who always manages to bring Norrin back to earth, being angered to extreme levels. It worries him to see a figure as Adeodat being so stressed out by the turmoils this adventure is giving him. Especially for him, Norrin hopes this adventure is close to an end, and they can return home to an actual home, even if his jealousy would like to keep him with him forever.
Adeo's opinion of Norrin hasn't changed that much over the trials, in fact the halfling continues to strengthen *some* points about him in Adeo's eyes. He's openly annoying, speaks his mind even on the dumbest ideas he might have, and doesn't hesitate to say he's not a fan of some opinions. He's not the smartest (although definitely not stupid), but he's honest. He still wants everyone to get along, although there's been times when Norrin's chaotic energy stirred conflict up further instead of calming it. But he was there for Sathe when Adeo couldn't bear looking at the elf for too long, and even though he dislikes his past "family", he wouldn't let unneeded harm fall onto them. He can wreak havoc and harm when needed, and then he can appease people with a smile and a joke, despite his sometimes offputting behaviour. He's even willing to receive harm *for* other people. ...Even when it's not entirely needed. He could've spared the party that mini heart attack of falling into an entire vat of bleach. ...Still, though.
Despite how hard it was, he gave up his family's lifestyle and turned away from them, just because it was the right thing to do. That alone shows that even though the halfling might not seem it, he's stronger than your average adventurer, and maybe he doesn't show it, but Adeo genuinely admires that quality of his. Sometimes it gets to the point where Adeo feels his heart clench a bit as he observes the halfling. It's just that Norrin reminds him of Simon more and more each day - and often even of Adeo's own, cynical younger self.
Sathe can't stand how righteous this man is. How stoic and cold he can be. He's young, and has yet to experience anything which truly shakes him to his core, and it shows. Whilst Sathe carries a facade of ego, Adeo simply has it. To Sathe, Adeo still sees things in black and white - he can't see how complex and winded situations can be, instead putting his goal of playing Judge above the sympathies of others.
....But well, that's not completely true. Adeo also pulled everyone together when Sathe fell apart. Adeo's eyes on his own goal helped Sathe achieve his. Despite clashing, fighting, and being throat-to-throat... he still listened. And respected his privacy. And doesn't.. care about his past, but what Sathe will be in the future.
Sathe doesn't want to admit it, but he needs this inquisitor. He feels guilty about it, knowing that Adeo has enough on his plate already. But Sathe can't do this alone. He can't do this with Norrin either. He needs everyone. And Adeo pushed for this.
Sathe's going to try and be more honest, but he's terrified of something happening to Adeo. Terrified that... WHATEVER is hunting him, is going to get at him. Terrified that his brother Simon will never know what happened to him, and never got to say goodbye.
Adeo considers Sathe to be a lot of things. Annoying, rash, impulsive, volatile.... but in time, he really does genuinely hope that he'll also consider Sathe a friend. They have more in common with him than they think.
Sathe is a volatile disaster. He's dangerous to enemies AND allies alike, so it's no wonder he has trouble keeping the latter. He's lost, much like Azar, and Adeo can't comprehend the self-destructive behaviour of the elf sometimes, especially as he continued to claim he just wants to fix things. Make up for past faults. And change.
...But he wants to change. It seems that his pride kept him from reaching out to people for help... and... as Sathe said, not wanting to drag people into his issues. But he came to realise it wasn't the way, because, despite whatever he might seem, Sathe is a very intelligent man. Powerful, too, though obviously has trouble in the 'self-control' department. His actions hurt... a lot, and (probably much to the elf's dislike), Adeo still feels he needs to keep an eye on him for everyone's safety, especially given how nervous Sathe is about the Shudderwoods. But Adeo didn't know how to act either when the elf was spiralling down, and even now he's not sure if he *can* help Sathe or if he'll just push too hard again and get overwhelmed with the responsibility.
...But he wants to help. And their intentions must count for something. Shouldn't they? After all, it's not like they're THAT different. ...Well, ok. Even though they're both scholarly, students of Lorrimor no less, they're mighty different. But that makes it all the more fascinating to observe the elf in battle (as long as he's in control of his own actions, of course), and witness how different the arcana school is to what Adeo's been taught. And he looks forward to discussing that and much more with Sathe while they're still stuck together. For better or... worse.
First and foremost, Azar is very grateful for all the help he has been getting from Adeo. While the spirit (Which turned out to be Laurens) made clear that time that the inquisitor they mentioned had not been Adeo but themselves, Azar is pretty sure that it was in fact part still Adeo. He just knows things about religion and how to tackle these things, things Azar had turned his back on. He does feel in part to be a burden on him with getting the man involved. Adeo seems to take on everybody's problems like a sponge with a desire to help. Something Azar does worries about, a man can only take so much on for others. But the ifrit already told himself that he wants to be there once the tides turn and it becomes Adeo that needs the help. It would be wrong to not repay the aid. Plus, he wants to make sure Adeo can get back home to Simon happily and safe.
Honestly out of the entire group, Azar's opinion of Adeo has changed the most since Harrowstone. While the man still has a clear tough exterior, now that Azar has been seeing the peeks behind the curtain, he is understanding the other more. Adeo is a strong person, he will go very far in life, Azar is sure of it.
While Adeo still isn't sure how Azar ended up with them in the first place, he thinks instead that a simple nudge from the divine is *why* Azar met the party. Azar, while usually seeming quiet and collected, organised even, as he helped out with trial investigations, in Adeo's eyes is lost. Unsure of his own path (which is understandable judging by his complicated story), and hesitant to act. That leads to many worrying situations where the Ifrit acts on his... worse ideas, maybe influenced by some outside forces, as he appears to be affected by the supernatural an awful lot. That's not to say he doesn't have his brighter moments either, and he's been evident help to the party many times, but there's times when Adeo grows a bit frustrated with the man's hesitant approach, or inaction.
His claims that he doesn't follow any gods obviously worry Adeo, since Azar also admitted his magic is divine in nature in the first place. Adeo wouldn't want that ability to leave him in a dire situation, when the patrons would perhaps get fed up with the Ifrit... so now Adeo is determined to team up with poor deceased Laurens and help guide Azar to the correct path... to the best of his abilities. He's not got that much experience himself, after all. But! That's what his job is as an inquisitor, and he believes Linium put him in Azar's path for a reason. He'd much rather try to help Azar out, than leave him to the outside influences and one day have to bring him down, should the supernatural break the Ifrit's spirit in the end.
what
Oh
Oh yea the girl from the bar! She had colour powers, right? That was the one! She was cool, they could be friends! Though she seemed anxious about him!
...
H-he suspects it might be er, because he was already kinda out of it. He can't remember anything particularly embarassing happening, though.
...
Wait, didn't she mock his looks at some point.
Bich
Wh- oh! That guy. Right. Yeah, he was a thing, right? Well. On the whole he seemed nice enough, even if he was kinda quick to jump down her throat about his prosthetics'? Still though, an interesting meet up outside of that. She just hopes he got home safely, since he seemed.. preeeeeetty out of it.
Didn't get to meet her when he was alive, but he's seen her around Junior when he secretly visited them sometimes. She's growing up to be a strong girl, just like Ellie.
...And... he admits. He might've made a mistake, choosing Ernest over her. But he couldn't have been aware at the time that Ellie would decide to have a THIRD child with... that.. stripey manchild.
But he's sure Junior can handle the task just well.
It's her grandpa! Apparently he was pretty metal when he was alive, and continues to be after death. She's not entirely sure if that's TRUE, but apparently that's the sorta story they've been telling in this weird family for generations. She can't understand why Ernest is upset that he's getting to slay people after death, she'd fucking LOVE that! Can that 'curse' be put on another child? Is there some ritual??
HIS BABY!!! His little daughter. Apple of his eye. Precious. The ONLY frickin' child to share SOME traits with him. ...Well, namely, she's short. But she's FIERCE and has the voice of an angel~ ...Of death. FANTASTIC! All goth and rebellious, but. He knows she loves them~~
...You know what?
Dad rocks. She wouldn't admit that to any of her other siblings, really, cause she knows they're kinda on edge with him. She knows WHY. But he's cool, and yeah, probably can act embarassing, but it's less 'hello fellow children' and more 'i've decided to stay young forever, deal with it'. She's gonna be young forever, too! Fuck all that responsible noise! Plus. Even though he's not good at advice and life, him and mom are there for them, no matter what. Also, mom's better at life. It evens out!
She's... okaaay... she makes cool music with Ernest. But... Flix feels like Ernest trusts her more than him. Why? She doesn't even live with them. It's kinda unfair. But it doesn't really matter, anyway. And she treats him as an equal with all their brothers. He's sick of everyone being patronising to him while secretly shivering in fear that he'll melt their faces off or something. It's annoying enough that he JUST might.
...Not Nora's, though.
Even though Flix is technically her older brother, Nora always treated him as the younger one, if only just so SHE didn't have to feel the youngest all the time. He didn't seem to mind, either.
She doesn't know his deal, she doesn't speak his language. Ernest does tho, and even though Flix doesn't really respond to much of what she says, he never gives off a feeling of like... ignoring her cause he's better than her, or something. He just accepts her existence passively. She can respect that. He's chill. And his powers are sick as fuck.
The person he trusts the most, next to Felix. Him and Nora have a similar mindset, both artists at heart - but she managed to slip past family's watchful eyes and actually develop her passion into something amazing! He's mildly jealous - but as her older brother, he's also proud and happy to help her with her songs, and she's the only one he shares his poems with. In return, she's been teaching him how to play the guitar a bit! It's a nice way to relax.
Even though their family's been through a lot, Nora's never had to complain about either Edmund or Ernest when it comes to being older brothers - they filled out all the good cliches. Ready to beat up bullies and happy to help her with studies or whatever. Now, Ernest is her song-writing partner. Metal isn't really his thing, but other than that, he's great at poetry and shit like that.
Anddd she's lowkey jealous he's gonna get to reap souls. Can you imagine what a phenomenon it'd be, a metal band with a lead singer who's literally THE grim reaper? She knows HE's not happy with his future, too. If only there was a way to change their grandpa's choice somehow.
???
??????
He's got like, 50 cousins, the last thing he feels like is remembering the existence of each and every one of them.
'Bows's brother, right? They all had that (well, apart from Bernard of course) pale blue coat. Crazy powerful. Hasn't seen him in forever, though, he doesn't bother with family meet ups or anything. Oh, well.
His cousin from a few cities away! ...Only seen him a few times in his life, on family meetups. Still though... Kyruo is one of those... powerful angel cousins. It's... fascinating.
....But he still recently lost his flat in a fire not long ago. 'Bows wonders if he should try and find some means of contacting Kyr - if he still hasn't found a place, 'Bows would he happy to help. ...It'd be nice to have someone to share rent with, at least.
WOW his aunt's kids have it bad. Dead dad, lunatic mom, and no-one could take care of them once that happened, so they were practically orphans for a few years. And of all of them, 'Bows always looked absolutely RIDICULOUS, even compared to Kyr's own giant eyes and literal gems growing out of his body. Amazing tbh
Uh, gramps? Dunno. Only seen him on family photos.
Ernest drunk-cries about him often, so in brotherly solidarity, Flix dislikes him. For unknown to him reasons.
Apparently North couldn't handle that his kids were all pureblood wolves, and so resorted to... adopting... random orphans off the streets.
...Sure. This turned out great.
Ellie's dad... wasn't PERFECT. But at the end of the day, he did allow their marriage, and wasn't even that much of a bitch over that whole 'blood feud' between them and Peter's mom's family. He was acceptable. And he accepted Peter. And even if shady and distanced, Ellie claims he was a great father! So yeah uh rip in pieces, I guess.
....
..........
he better take.. good fucking care... of Ellaine........
Yeah they might've been a happily married couple for years now. But. Ernest is still watching his every damn step. This kid always was, is, and WILL be picky as h e l l.
As if his life being set up from the moment he was born till his final breath wasn't bad enough, his DEATH is also already arranged. In an effort to not have his daughter suffer through watching her family and countless people die and assist them during it... he decided his grandson should do it instead. And he won't even tell Ernest what it's like. Will he regain his full form, or stumble about the world without a wing? Will he lose his emotions as a spirit? Will it help him cope with what he will see, or only make his material-less experience more miserable? WHY couldn't have grandpa waited until his sister was born?!
He's whining too much. He'll do just fine as a grim reaper, Ernest knows it - Ellie didn't name the kid after him for no reason, after all. ...Yeah, alright, Nora would also do fine. But. He couldn't have known at the time.
Ernest saved his life after all. Seriously, he should be thankful.
It took him a long time to warm up to Nalivka, but honestly? Now days he can't even begin to imagine disliking her. Yes, she has moments of blunt cruelty and ignorance, and the two might never quite agree on how best to approach certain... social situations? But she has shown him time and time again that she is someone whom he can trust and respect, and he hopes she knows that he will always have her back, and that he... well. He misses her like he misses all other close friends he doesn't see as much as he would like. Perhaps in future he will find a reason to meet up again, and perhaps they can settle once and for all who's the strongest of the pair?
Nalivka feels she could definitely beat Ferem in a battle.
On a good day.
Outside.
And then on HIS good day he'd totally kick her ass in return. And she can admire that in a person.
While she'll never be convinced to his soft approach to people, ALL people, even ones she doesn't quite consider 'people', Ferem managed to earn her trust by repeatedly assisting her in head-on battles and getting in the way of damage to protect the more fragile members of the party. All that religion stuff goes totally over her head, and she still feels she doesn't really know the person behind the armour all that well, but then again... she doesn't really care to get into people's personal businesses. She saw everything she needed to.
If Ferem ever wanted her to help him bring something, anything down (finding something like that, in itself, would probably be a hard feat for him in the first place), she'd do it without question.
Quiet! Very quiet. Softspoken ranger at times, and other times she's loud and ready to state her opinion, but they seem nice! Okay, a little clumsy, but lovably clumsy in a way! Sure, her and Cherryl and Geze don't get on. But maybe they will in time! And she's new to technology, new to the world. And there's so much to teach her! So far, they've left a positive impression. Not immediately ready to make friends, but it's apparent that she at least trusts Waker of the group. So, you know, that's the most important thing.
The bard continued to be the voice of reason throughout the entire journey. But, surprisingly so, she didn't limit herself to just yelling 'you can do it, guys!' from the sidelines. Not only did she help out in battles immensely, she spoke up as soon as something was wrong, and her voice was STRONG.
Atta girl!! That's the fucking SPIRIT! But that's something you should probably expect from someone who spent time on the SEA, right? Madwoman.
...Funny that, actually. Nalivka's no good in the water, but maybe with Waker's help she could meet up with her brother someday.
Not that she needs that right now. He's fine, that's all that matters. For now, Waker's free to visit on her... weird... h o r s e, and Nalivka will gladly show her around the new woods she's been 'sploring! You know, in return for the bard putting up with her absolute lack of knowledge on tact and electronics. Maybe for a nice tune she could even get a bottle of some strong walnut nalewka (and that stuff's pricey goddamnit).
And she can show Waker how to eat spiders.
Oh yea, his twinsie! She's cool. Always the quiet, mysterious type. The forest fit her. After they left their parents' house he knew immediately that's what she'd settle on so he didn't even try dragging her to sea. Besides, she doesn't even have his cool powers! She'd melt at the sight alone.
He kinda misses her - but he's got a new family now, and she must be happy where she is!
They're so different, it's hard to believe they're kin. Gin was always so irresponsible, no wonder he decided to spend his life fighting the most lethal to Inkdrians element. She wishes him well, but she's just fine on her own, and they share the same temperament, so he must be ok, too. Wonder if he ever mustered up the courage to HARM someone, though.
Apparently he managed it and he's on the sea now... a NAVIGATOR. Well fucking done, dude.
After all that is said and done, Nalivka was a force of nature to be reckoned with. Wild in her opinions, knowledge and brute strength. Always blunt and to the point speaking what was on her mind and not holding back. She had proven over and over again that she was there ready to protect the party and make sure they didn't get hurt. Geze just really appreciates that she was there till the end. Going at Reina with all her might and never backing down. Nalivka is fierce and somebody Geze will absolutely turn to if he were to ever need help.
Geze is probably the person Nalivka has learnt the least about... other than the fact they're posh.... and transforming into something that's less and less of an inkdrian. At first he was aggressive towards people for no reason, and it threw her off immediately.
She's determined she likes NONE of those things.
...
Despite that, he helped bring the team to the goal, and never held back with his magic to aid them. She doesn't like his background, and doesn't quite know if she'd consider him a FRIEND, but on the battlefield she'd trust him no problem to have each others' backs.
And he seems like a person who, similarly to her, would appreciate peace and quiet. 'Cause it's GREAT. Probably while doing some nerdy stuff. Like reading. Regardless, he's welcome to get as much of that as he needs at Nalivka's camp whenever he'd like. ...As long as he's not smelling of an aberration.
Oh, the magician-cultist alligator! She was fun! Elec enjoyed the talk, and the lil magic show, and Lia was fun to draw, too! She hopes she liked the sketch! It was also.. as nice as it was bizarre to hear that Elec's apparently considered their god's friend. Though she didn't have enough courage to straight up ask if they really, ACTUALLY consider him a god. Maybe in the future..!
Oh, bless Gin! He's honestly a real sweetheart, what in the world is he doing on that ship? A runaway from home seeking adventure, she was the same! Really! But she doesn't want that poor boy to make the same mistakes that she did! She's taught him well, she knows that - he's smart! The new navigator, with cool powers to boot! But in that crew? Well, let's just hope their raids and pillages don't effect him...
She's cool! And smart! AND cute! Which he wouldn't openly admit with Daq around, but still! He kinda misses her now that she's gone from the ship.. and left him with ALL THOSE COOL MAPS THO
Honestly being a navigator is great cause he can be useful without, uh..
Uh, those things she, didn't like. I mean he can't blame her, being a pirate is kinda scary sometimes. But the rest is awesome, and she probably misses them already!!
....er. Entertaining? TOO open for her tastes. And. Tacky. She can't really take him seriously with his purple and green suit, constantly rambling. He's more like a stand up comedian than someone you can trust with your money. Or anything. But there's an underlying feeling that perhaps he's a bit smarter than he lets on.
Because of course he'd do that. All men are fake anyway.
Whoa hey, look at this batty chick! Now she's a real looker, but of course she is, she has the same style as him! And it's the only style that looks GOOD! Still, whoa momma, she's a real stuck-up thinks-you're-better kinda person, yeah? See, that's what wealth does to you! Though see, ol Jel here sees opportunities from this one. She has business. Contacts. Get on her good side, and that's more for the both of them. That's how it WORKS. And he's NEVER one to back down from an investment.
