I don't know a lot about the 1920's, but I DO know that during that time, it was actually pretty common to learn the harp. Jeff can play on the harp, violin, and piano. I haven't worked out the details of how he learned any of that yet, it's just a thing I put on him so he could play waltzes 'n shit

He learned piano while he was still human, then during his time in hell (he's a demon) he learned the other two instruments as a way to combat the stress of the corporate lifestyle. (They have that in this universe.)

I guess I should probably actually describe my own characters for this thread sometime, haha. Maybe later.

Arden was one of those kids whose parents wanted him to learn piano (his sister, who's younger, learned violin), and he hated it. he hated it even more after he was forced to play it during his sister's birthdays (not his own, for whatever reason). he also picked up some violin skills from her. his parents also allowed him to get a guitar for one of his birthdays, as long as he didn't drop the piano and he learned to play it himself from videos. then he also taught himself to play drums. he enjoys singing, and he has a great voice, but he'd never do it in front of a large crowd due to his anxiety.

he's also sort of in a band called L'appel Du Vide (it's the French term for "the call of the void")

I have Kyou, who plays bass guitar primarily but also knows a few other instruments (like piano and guitar). He's in a band with three others, but I only have a toyhou.se for one of them (Velvet, who plays a launchpad, but also knows keyboard and guitar). Their band also consists of a girl named Nova who is their singer and guitarist, plus a male drummer named Mint.

Oshare knows piano/keyboard, atm it's just a hobby though! Ruby thinks musicians are hot but has no musical talent himself.

This girl here is a siren, my friends always joke with me that I'd be a siren because I "entrance" them with my voice.

So I decided I'm making a story with fantacy peeps and I'll make me a siren XD she can sing beautifully.

He's Satan's son, and his escape was/is music. He can't really sing.

Oliver lived, breathed, and died rock and roll (literally). He has a band which...I had to name on the spot so it's called DiddleFingers and bandmates include a Hecatoncheires (hundred hander), a forever roasting pig, a succubus, and a bagpipe playing child of Baldur.

And they are ****ing metal as ****.

I had to bring him back yesterday for game and he's almost too much even for me. XD I need to draw him with a longer beard and more costume.

So Redd, Shay, and Zane were in a band in high school. Essentially Redd wanted to start a band to look cool and not like the big anxious weenie that he is, Shay went along with it, and Zane was the only one that really knew what he was doing. I don't think the band ever got GOOD but wasn't god awful? Red played drums, Shay played bass, and Zane did whatever he wanted really. I joke called them Primary Colors because of their hair, but have yet to think of a better band name pfft.

Also Alexei... he was in a bunch of different rp groups that didn't ever stick but he was always music based. In the first RP I had him in he had this ability called "Perfect Pitch" which made him be able to hack machines using very clear notes of sound.

I'm back with another OC band!!

I have Angel on the mic & electric violin, Mana on guitar, Efreetia on bass, & Leshyster on drums. You can see them HERE.

My character Saki used to play the piano, but had to quit it for reasons...I made him a genius at it, though.

There's also Reika, if girl-group singers do count. She's known as the well-rounded performer in her group, who loves singing despite all her issues in her group, ahah.

My boy Elias here is blind, but that didn't stop him from learning to play just about every instrument! He's autistic and music (especially classical music) is one of his hyperfixations. He also likely has Savant Syndrome which is why he is able to learn how to play so many instruments so quickly.
