"Uh," he wasn't sure how to react towards this fellow before him. He looked to the side, his hand rubbing his neck. "That man has guts but he's only a dog to me. "Frenemiiieeesssss,"  Buddy says, dragging it out as long as possible before breaking it off with a laugh.  "How does that even happen?  What's with you and that Nobutaka guy~?"

Buddy's mood plummets at the reminder of what he did to Phoebe.  He scrapes his boot across the ground and hunches his shoulders, looking everywhere but at his questioner.  Truthfully he's never thought about killing his mother.  He's not a violent person; that he abandoned Phoebe to potentially die in the desert was entirely dependent on her being a dumb kid who trusted him not to hurt her.  In the end he couldn't even go through with what had to be the most cowardly method of murder possible and went back out to bring her home within 2 hours.  His mother wouldn't follow him into the next room, much less trust him to lead her anywhere she had no way of navigating.  

"I dunno...things seem the same as ever...I don't really see her much anyways."  And while it doesn't stop him from fantasizing about having a picnic at the park or just sitting around the coffee table coloring like he's seen her do with his sister, "She wouldn't be into doing one of those bonding things with me."

Has Marcia accepted that Tadla is probably long-gone and they'll never cross paths again, or does she still hope to find her one day?

"Mm, my partners... Ramona, my lovely tiger girlfriend, and Finch, a bird boy... Truth is, I met Finch two years after Ramona. Ramona, I met at voice tryouts for characters of an anime dub. We became fast friends, discussing things like the anime we watched, making soft pretzels, others that bothered us, pretty much anything you can imagine. A year later, she was auditioning for a particular movie I happened to take an interest in, and the way she moved onstage reminded me of an angel. I recognized then that I had feelings for her and asked her out. She wanted time to think it over, and the next week she accepted! We've been attached at the hip ever since." I asked him what pun, and he pointed to the heart, then at me. 'Fine... You stole my heart,' I told him, and he got the cutest, derpiest grin I'd ever seen. That afternoon, he asked Ramona if we could be in a polyamorous relationship, and she didn't have a problem with it at all. We've been excellent ever since..." He paused, looking up at the man. "Why do you ask, by the way? And what's with this interrogation? How did I get here?"

"So," Frederick started, setting a clipboard of information down on the interrogation table that sat between him and Montgomery. "Tell me more about your intimate relationships. This... Romona and Finch. How did you meet them, and how did you get into a relationship with them?"

"We both kept to ourselves. She wasn't used to having someone around the house, and I wasn't ready to open up about the loss of my parents. Currently, I understand her awkwardness. This job is dangerous and could threaten people I hold close, so kids is absolutely out of the question. And to have one suddenly dumped on my doorstep, well, that would be interesting. If I could see her today, I'm not sure what I would ask. Mostly things about the Nightingale, tricks and secrets. Everything I've done I had to learn on my own, after all."

"With that, there are times I sometimes resent Miss Carlotta, but it's understandable as time passes. I owe her a lot, and she managed to let me know what I was capable of, even I have to live a monster my whole life. The best way I could repay her is erase her mistakes in her place, even if if will take me a whole eternity."

"Ah, hmm... What I think my father is and what I wish he is are two very different things. What I think he is, is probably a scoundrel who hooked up with my mom and then left her in the dust. She always said he was coming back, but after a few years I sorta pieced together that he wanted nothing to do with her. What hurts most about that is that mom was so convinced that he'd be back that she never went and looked for someone who would love her and treat her better up until she died, so he must've been really nice, before he, y'know, threw her to the dogs and went to have fun without even giving her a second thought. But if I had to say what I'd want my dad would've been, I feel that's a little obvious. Someone who my mom would've loved that wouldn't use her and lose her. Someone faithful who would work as a team to make an actual family." Driz sighs, but quickly regains composition. "Thanks for giving me the chance to be openly angry, I didn't get a lot of times like that. I'm so used to bottling it up because mom would hate it when I 'talked bad' about my father, even though it seems like such an obvious truth. But as for your question about Morning, what surprises me a lot is that she doesn't resent her version of our father, but she won't say why. I'm also a little surprised that she didn't follow one of either of the big paths I took, she's neither an astronaut or a pharmacist, but a magician like our mom. She's very vague about her reasoning for it, I wish she'd tell me what she knew. I'm not too jealous of her, but rather the circumstances she had in her world where her version of mom died half an hour later. I wasn't able to say goodbye to my version because of traffic, but Morning got to say goodbye to her version. It's not really fair, but I try not to think about it or get too mad that she had that opportunity I missed."

Yes! Actually, Mikhail's story (his official one) starts off with him about five years after being in the hospital meeting Kieran by chance again when he applies to be a nanny. Kieran gives him the job without telling him that he recognizes him (Mikhail assumes he's forgotten). Eventually, they strike up a romance, but that dies down after they realize that they are incompatible in some important ways. :( Mikhail ends up moving away after about a year of being a nanny, but they still talk sometimes. And fuck if Kieran's single
