Choose an individual and explain their attitude towards gambling/or similar. Are they willing to take the risk for the chance at something good? How severe is that problem and where do they draw the line? How do they view others that may have a stronger draw to it?

POTD 6/7/2021 - Virva

Virva has a loose understanding of gambling - The way she sees it, it's essentially trading for a chance at something. Maybe that something is getting your initial investment back and getting something else out of it, or maybe it's losing your initial investment but getting something better than what you paid for. The odds usually aren't in your favor, and while there was never much of any of it happening there, doing it was frowned upon, back where she came from.
So, of course, like the rebellious kid she is, doing everything she can to distance herself from her past, she loves it. Or, well, she loves the idea of it, at least. There's not much opportunity to gamble when you're a little green cat in a world full of humans who can't even communicate with you in any meaningful way, and your companions are too focused on doing what they can to survive and get back to their humans and what have you, wandering around here and there and everywhere, to be bothering with things like lugging around personal property to bet. But still, the idea of it is one which she gets a kick out of - It's exciting and fun and adventurous, in her eyes. Not to mention her sister hates it, thinks it's a waste of time and energy and resources... well, good. Maybe, if she can ever sneak her way into a casino, Melia won't follow her, and she'll be able to play some games or something. She doesn't know where she'll get the stuff to do something like that, admittedly - Beatrix and Sophie both made it clear that humans usually have a thing about trading their time and energy and resources for these symbolic little discs and pieces of paper and whatnot that they call money, and then trading those symbolic little trinkets for other people's services and things, instead of just swapping their stuff directly (The whole thing seemed a bit convoluted, if you asked her) - but she's sure she'll find a way.
She's going to be disappointed when she finds out how high the odds are stacked against her, if that ever comes to pass. And probably even more disappointed when she realizes that, as a cat, she really has no way to spend any of the human money she might theoretically earn. And even further disappointed when the staff go shooing her out of the establishment with a broom and water bottle with a squeeze cap on it. But hey, until that day comes, she can dream!
