Feroce Phenomenon

A recent phenomenon that is still under study. There are many rumors about how resonators can become afflicted with this "illness".

What is well known is the affects that it has on the resonator. There are four distinct phases of the phenomenon, ending with the resonator completely turning into a scherzando and in most cases abandoning their maestro.

Phase 1 - Boosted stats, slight darkening of rhythm and rhythm influenced body features. Feroce spells may appear if the resonator is under duress.
Phase 2 - Feroce spells are now permanent in addition to their normal spell list, further darkening of body features
Phase 3 - Feroce spells completely replace the spell list, unable to use normal spells, may cast different spells than called, body almost in a shadow-like state
Phase 4 - Body changes to a scherzando shape, unable to recover resonator at this point

Feroce spells appear to do boosted damaged to non-Feroce resonators, while Feroce spells deal reduced damage to other Feroce resonators. A full list of Feroce spells may be found here

The above only refers to the resonator's battle capabilities. As the condition worsens, it should be noted that the resonator will begin experiencing the following, intensifying as they progress through the phases.

  • Lethargy outside of battle
  • Rapid mood swings
  • Sporadic memory loss
  • Inability to speak (Late Phase 3)

Recovery

From initial studies, it is possible to recover from the ailment. Battling using normal spells and not using the Feroce spells can revert afflicted resonators from Phase 2 back down to Phase 1.

For Phase 3 the afflicted resonator would need to etude with two other unafflicted individuals to form a trifecta.

Complete expulsion of the Feroce Phenomenon seems to simply take time at Phase 1. Keeping the afflicted resonator happy and healthy at Phase 1 and avoiding usage of the Feroce Spells eventually removes the effects of the condition.
