ad Libertum (ad-Lib for short) is a type of skill that Resonators can use.
Where normal spells are used when a maestro passes their rhythm to their resonator, an ad-Lib uses the resonators own rhythm to use a unique skill of their element. Null elements do not get an ad-Lib, but do possess a higher overall rhythm potential as a sort of "trade-off"

Each resonator can only possess one ad-Lib and is based on genetics. There are "common" ad-Libs, and "rare" ad-libs.

Since this is a skill that a resonator can use on their own, it enables them to act autonomously if something happens to their maestro. However, the cost is that since this uses the resonator's own rhythm rather than their maestro's, their own natural defenses are depleted, which can leave them in a vulnerable state.

These are not available to the resonator upon birth but are unlocked as they grow. Some are unlocked early, such as the common Water ad-Lib, Bolla D'acqua; while others take an extraordinary long time to unlock such as the Nature ad-Lib, Sussurri di Piante, to the point where what the Nature ad-Lib does is rare knowledge among common citizens.

Fire
Icarus' ala
Common Fire ad-Lib. Increases user’s speed and allows flight via flames emitted from their body - where fire comes from varies on the individual. Chance for damage to self the longer the skill is active.

Corpo Fuoco
Rare Fire ad-Lib. User can adjust their body temperature to the point of catching on fire. Unaffected by singeing.

Water
Bolla D'acqua
Common Water ad-Lib. Enables breathing in the water, increased swimming speed in water. Drains rhythm while breathing underwater

Diventare Neve
Rare Water ad-Lib. Enables the user to blend in with snow, totally vanishing from sight. Drains rhythm with use.

Lightning
Cavo Scoperto
Common Lightning ad-Lib. Can condense form down and travel down conductive, non-organic surfaces; rhythm drains while in use. Advanced users of this skill can enter computer networks like it's a separate "world"

Pali di Scambio
Rare Lightning ad-Lib. The user can change their magnetic polarity, allowing them to stick to certain surfaces. Drains rhythm while in use.

Earth
Parte la Terra
Common Earth ad-Lib. Allows the user to burrow into the earth unimpeded. Works on man-made surfaces such as concrete.

Scudo di Sabbia
Rare Earth ad-Lib. The user is protected by sand while in battle. Rhythm drain while in use.

Nature

Sussurri di Piante
Common Nature ad-Lib; while active the user can commune with target plant and can order target plant to execute limited actions even outside of what normally should be possible for target plant. Ordering plants costs heavy rhythm.

Rete di Radici
Rare Nature ad-Lib, allows the user to travel through root networks instantaneously and essentially "become one" with plants. Massively drains rhythm while in in plants

Solar
Venti Diurni
Common Solar ad-Lib. Can control the direction and movement of the wind.

Cielo Sereno
Rare Solar ad-Lib. Upon activation, automatically casts Chiaro cielo mattutino and prevents changing of the weather while this skill is active.

Lunar
Volontà Estesa
Common Lunar ad-Lib. Can move target object mentally as long as the user can perceive the object within space.

Allucinazione di Massa
Rare Lunar ad-Lib. Illusion magic allowing the target to become invisible. Stronger users can entirely change their perception of others becoming entirely different people. True masters can even avoid other forms of detection using this skill
