Who do you prefer? (IC version)

Posted 5 years, 8 months ago (Edited 5 years, 8 months ago) by circlejourney

A simple game that's basically an IC version of the Who do you prefer between... thread!

  1. Post IC as one of your characters. Make them choose between the two OCs above, and explain their choice. You can interpret "prefer" in any way: the one they find cooler/cuter/more fun to hang out with/more attractive (age-appropriate only please) etc.
  2. Then ask the OC below to choose between two of your own OCs! You can do this IC or OOC.

Example:

Person A: Jordan or Kasey?
Person B [IC]: Aw yeah, Kasey also enjoys extreme sports! Sorry Jordan, you're cool and all, but Kasey and I will have tonnes of fun climbing mountains together.
Linden or Micah?
Person C [IC]: Whoa, Linden hits all my buttons. [slicks hair back] Are you free this Friday at six?
Neve or Orion?

Rules:

Please keep things SFW and minor-friendly. This thread is not necessarily romance-related, so it's OK to post characters who are minors, but if the person below you responds as/to a minor in a suggestive way, do let me know and they will be banned.

Wait 3 posts or 24 hours before posting again!

Edit: and it is a good idea to claim before posting.

@ the OC below, Noma or Liss?

Leika Van der Khansen fizzelston

"Eh no doubt but you!" Leika said with her ears pricked. "Guns collection? Gun buddies?" she said as she (carelessly) waved with her own two guns.
"Man we should hang out! Shoot some practice target and yell some silly catchphrases!"

--
"Alright," Leika snorted, " my best friend , or  My boss?"

"That Roswell man gives me the shivers, brr. But Salvador, he looks like someone who wouldn't murder me in the cold blood, for starters. Ayy, we've both got that reality-bending superpower thing going, I like him already! I choose Salvie, easy peasy."

"Hehehe, Vesper or Marcia? I, for one, know which of them would be pissed if you didn't choose her. Hmmmm..." 🤔

"I'll have to go with Daniel. If there's one thing I can't stand, it's people that can't appreciate a good hat! I don't know why someone would think to take away your hat, it's gorgeous! Not as good as mine, though! Wanna see some tricks?" She proceeds to spin her hat around.

"Alright! Ummmm, my cool big brother? Or my sweet grandpa?"

Frederick is married to Ethan, so Ethan is also Anna's grandfather.

 Albus celestiials

(I think you accidentally put Ethan instead of Frederick? Not sure) Oh shoot sorry, I thought it was a mistake! I edited my reply

“I’m sorry but 360 no-scope?? And a Shadow the Hedgehog song to listen before your death?? Oh my gods, that’s honestly just the best damn thing I’ve heard all day, so I guess my vote’s gonna go to Aniki. Though, I guess if I wanted to not die, then I’d go for Ethan... but really, with that bad luck, I’m not sure how better my chances would be really.”

“Alright, let’s choose between these doofuses I know... Aloysius or Ater?”

Johnson (Human) kafkaesque

If his shitty marriage proved anything, Johnson just... Didn't like cutesy people. Or aesthetics, for that matter! They made his old man eyes cry, and he fucking hated crying; he did consider it a weakness, after all, and being confronted with (and having to chose between) two pastel-colored humanoids wasn't going to cause his mindset to waver anytime soon... Or at all, really. It was actually more likely that he'd just stand there gawking like a little bitch, before he coughed into his sleeve and raised his brow at the singer.

"In all honesty..." the older man grunted with a frown, "... I think that this is just like choosing the lesser of two evils. I'm the tiniest bit rusty in my philosophy, but you know that one phenomenon where you have to choose between two outcomes that... Aren't the most desirable? As in... Neither is something you particularly want to pick..." He paused to rub his chin and contemplate for a few moments - how unfortunate! "... What was it again?"

"Oh! I think... I think it's a dilemma now... Is it? And I thought it was deeper than that!" Get to the point, old man.

Taking a step back, Johnson huffed, "That asides... If I had to pick... I suppose the bear woman can suffice. As much as I don't care that much about dreams... There's something inherently admirable about trying to vanquish evil, even if it's a rather naïve goal from my experience. Evil comes in all shapes and magnitudes - but at least she's aware enough to realize that sometimes, the greatest evils aren't something that you or I could see in the waking world. Sometimes... They're like fantasies, but they feel real because we give them so much power. It's the main cost of having so much brainpower and sapience, wouldn't you agree?"

That's kind of edgy, in all honesty.

"Besides," Johnson droned further, "I have a feeling that the rabbit princess is somewhat... Demanding. She may have an affectionate side and seem 'adorable,' but I'll have to commend anyone who gets past that arrogant persona she puts up, because... I frankly can't stand that." Said an arrogant aristocrat himself, as he pointed a hand at his own chest and let out a sharp huff. Not once had his expression changed the entire time, and it sure as hell wasn't going to anytime soon, as he proclaimed, "And those who rely on parties as a way to pass the time are inherently fools, from my experience. Parties are nothing more than a way to facilitate political negotiation; assuming otherwise is... Rather reckless at best, if one wishes to consider themselves rational!"

"But now that I think about it," admitted the middle-aged man with a wry chuff, "I think it's only fair to say that though it's foolish to be generous, as is the case for the dream eater... At least the dream eater seems relaxed and calm at first glance. Or is it her just being sleepy and daydreaming as usual? Frankly, I'm not that sure!"

"I understand if this may come off as a bit of an unusual question for you, but... Mmm... I suppose I have the time, since I think I might've overestimated how long this interview was going to last. I need to fix that as soon as possible- That asides... My friend has been bothering me about her pests- Pets again, so... How about that as a question? Would you rather deal with her bird for a day, or her... Dinosaur. Thing. You kind of lose either way, in my opinion, but it doesn't hurt to ask... Right?"

NP may get a follow-up if I have the time???? I'm just. gonna have to figure out how that'll work lmao.

Hala Oidekivi Vapor

This was incredibly easy for Hala to answer, but the woman had to pause for a quarter of a minute to look like she was actually thinking about the question, and therefore wouldn't come across as a piece of shit for blurting out right away which of the two she preferred.

"Well, obviously," she began, "I do enjoy birds... But, I think I'm all birded out, you know? Lure is a bit of a hassle on his own, so I couldn't imagine owning another-- another large, loud animal. I mean, Lure isn't loud, but still!" She paused, running her fingers anxiously through her hair. Gods, she... hoped this wasn't a question she would have to worry about later? She hoped she wouldn't have to take any animals at all?

"There is my work, too, of course." the woman added, "I wouldn't mind getting up every thirty minutes to an hour to feed the dinosaur, as long as I get some quiet. So, I'll go with her dinosaur. It's... It's easier for me. And easier for my work."

She was going to stick by that until the damn thing started chewing on her dress.

"This is a bit more of an... It's a question concerning two people I sort of know," she said, "I mean... Obviously, but they don't seem to care for each other in the slightest. Of course, I would stick with my friend no matter what, but would you rather deal with my friend, or the lord's wife?"

Reinherz smlfall

"Your daughter is absolute sweetheart, I can say by just hearing" As another (not really) parent, they know it, "I may make my way to her with you next time, about now," Reinherz brings the plate and fork up with both his hand, gently smiled "I predict I have to wash my dish and say thank to the abbey's baker." Oh, did they can make waffle and bread? Maybe he could learn something from them, they sounds like one with experiences.

-------

"To bring this on a same plate, seems a little hard," Reinherz folded a hand under their chin, "Sir Boston, I'm sure he is a eye-catching gem. But, the outer child," chuckled, "doesn't seems like he would lose."

 Moscovium comrade_dragoslav

"Hello, my friend. The child you speak of seems rather interesting to me. I would love to teach him my ways; how to grow excellent muscles, how to break into homes, as well as how to internalize the deeper meanings of poetry and universal harmony. But I feel that I could also learn a lot from him. I would love to be informed of how things work back in his place of origin. And I will always be there to offer hugs whenever he is feeling homesick. I do not like to see others sad, so I opt to give out free hugs to prevent such a situation from happening. Of course, I may have to stop myself from screaming when he comes in contact with my huge muscles, as I do not wish to frighten him. I'll make sure to keep that in mind."

---

"Hello, my friend. I would like to introduce you to two of my associates. The first is a quite troublesome individual, but I have a feeling that he is truly a gentle person at heart. The second...well...I am not so sure that she can be redeemed so easily. I would like to know which one of the two you prefer."

Raphael Fuchs Vapor

"What a difficult choice." Raphael sighed in response to Moscovium, though unfortunately, it... wasn't a decision that required too much thought for him. "'The troublesome individual', as you call him, seems to be the more... appropriate selection, however. He strikes me as the sort to have a good heart, to put it in the best way possible..."

Trailing off for a moment, however, he frowned and shook his head. "Though, it would do him some good to not engage in his heretic behaviors, rituals and all." he added, "I would personally hate for something terrible to happen to him. That, and his tendency to go on a rampage is concerning. But, nevertheless, he is immediately preferable to the other."

"I don't know why anyone would like carbonara, let alone as much as she." he commented, "The poor dear must have lost her head somewhere down the line."

"Though I don't like to compare a dead man with a noble girl... Would you prefer my mentee, or her late adoptive father? It's more a matter of worth, but surely your opinion would be useful."

Roy Lane PicklePantry

"Worth...?" Roy scratched his chin before crossing his arms. He still wasn't used to his newfound powers, but knew enough to see who both were. Noel was battle-worn and had the scars to prove it, though some of those wounds hadn't fully healed. Despite that, he was earnestly doing his best to be a good guardian. And Maribelle, she was a poor soul trapped in a terrible fate from the very start, and by the looks of it she was struggling with figuring out what kind of path was left for her to take. Both had their goods and their bads, but...
"I guess I'd pick Maribelle," Roy said. "I can somewhat understand where she's coming from, getting thrown into a rough life. I hope the best for her."

"I'm proud of how both my sons have grown up! How about you? How do you feel about Allegro and En? Are you better friends with either of them?"

Deborah Taeya

^Do it, coward

(I had the worst time writing this I hate her so much)
"I don't believe I've really met either of them. I must say though, Allegro seems like a fine young man. Someone so attractive and talented is sure to have a bright future ahead of them. There's no doubt, he's the perfect man and the obvious choice for this question. I suppose I can even forgive a more good-hearted nature if it's attached to such a well brought up person." Deborah smiled, swooning over Allegro like a creep.
"The other one though..." Not even saying Ens name. Her smile disappeared. "Are you sure you are proud of that?... He appears to be nothing but a major disappointment." She held a hand to her cheek and tapped it with her distusting sharp fingernails while looking to the ground with a dejected puppy face, like the fake repulsive snake she is. "Perhaps I'm just biased, but can you blame me? I don't know what he's doing, but he's making my boy look like a fool... I can't have that."

"Speaking of my wonderful son, do you think I might have done a better job than the dark lord himself?" Like you did anything for him. "Come on, you can be honest! I know it's a hard choice. Marco or Avith?"

Caelestis Solaestial

(maybe it would've been better better for a character who doesn't already know one of them to reply, but i just couldn't help it aaaaa)

Seeing that the woman was implying a relation to Marco, Caelestis felt some satisfaction at this newfound knowledge. However, he almost felt guilty at being given such a choice, simply for how easy it was for him. "Where can I even begin with Marco?" He closed his eyes briefly to let out a dreamy sigh, before gazing into the distance. "Mere words cannot express how wonderful he is. Every moment I'm able to spend with him is pure bliss. I would follow him to the ends of the earth, everywhere beyond, and back—no matter what path he may take." Truthfully, Caelestis felt he hadn't been so deeply in love with someone since the man that had dumped him and left on a mission to become a full-on villain. While things weren't seeming too bright in their own way, hopefully they wouldn't turn out that badly this time. "Although," he added with a laugh, "it seems more likely I may simply be visiting retail stores far more frequently in the future."

After a moment, he continued. "But that isn't to say I see no appeal in Avith. I may not have met him before, and his personality seems far less endearing, but he certainly is handsome at the very least." Sighing once more, "Oh but then, Marco is even more handsome to me. Nearly unbearably so." He has just been full of sighs lately, hasn't he? But that's love for you. He smiled wistfully. "But something about him always seems so troubled, and I only wish I could help him."

Caelestis thought for a moment before speaking. "How about me, or the ever so graceful wind? Be as honest as need be—I won't mind at all who you pick."

(asfshkjgkshjs bless you for the resurrection?? and with NV 🥺🥺)

It was quite the desperate, panicked attempt at small talk, that was for sure. To ask about himself as if someone only vaguely familiar, and in comparison to someone he'd only barely heard of himself while acting as though it were someone he knew... Merely the thought was confusing, but it did seem to help strengthen the deception a bit, fortunately. A part of him was also simply curious to hear what NV would think of him, though.

Surprisingly, NV seemed to have actually met Samir, when Caelestis had quite expected them to not hold any opinion of him at all. There was little one would even hear of him but of his elusiveness, after all, even from the others above. It was curious. Only, then, after a moment of pause, they moved onto their thoughts of Caelestis. Of him. The celestial gulped silently, attempting to hold back the eager, impatient sense of anxiety threatening to take over. The sunglasses served well to hide his expression—even if most importantly for his familiar gold eyes—but naturally did nothing for his mannerisms.

"No, don't be sorry," he replied hastily through the returning pangs of heartache. After everything, for NV to still not dislike him, he wasn't sure whether to feel hopeful, or only more guilty and distraught. It was incredible, really, how someone so kind could be left with such an unfair life. He didn't deserve to be around them at all, let alone as close to them as he still so strongly yearned to be, and yet here he was, unable to resist approaching them even now. Ridiculously and deceptively as it was.

Caelestis hesitated himself, gaze dropping downwards uncertainly as he pondered. He looked back up. "I don't mean to pry, but you sound as if… you were close," he commented, so shamelessly. Averting his gaze to the side slightly, he adjusted his sunglasses awkwardly. "You know, I hear he's someone who finds trouble quite often. I… doubt he would mind trying to work through whatever issues it is that you two have had." So terribly shamelessly. "Sometimes it's best to simply move on, but occasionally there is something that can still be done, and to give up entirely may only hurt even more in the long run. I'm certain he misses you greatly as well, after all." What was this even? Listening to the devil on his shoulder, urging them to make what was surely a foolish decision out of his own sheer selfishness? That was exactly what it was. He paused before waving a hand dismissively. "But of course, what could I possibly know about your situation? Do forgive me for rambling so much. It simply reminded me a bit of some things I've gone through myself."
