About: The murderer of the prior Overlord, though the only ones privileged to that knowledge would be himself and his sister. In his youth, Domino starved for the attention of his father, though was always left in Voodoo's shadow- the favored child. Boiling with envy and rage as he grew older, Domino murdered his father in an argument gone south, and took up the role of Overlord. Domino strives to do what his right for his people (because he, like most of his kind, cares very little when it comes to the other races), and despite the monotone ring to his voice and flat expression, he's rather passionate about making sure his kind remain strong and eventually reign dominant over Jo'Arca. However, he's known to do shady business here and there... that's little to do with what he wants, and more to do with Voodoo using the knowledge over the murder of their father to make Domino do as she wants.
He keeps his father's ear gems as stress balls, yes.
StarShooter government style: One part monarchy, one part democracy. Someone is elected from each Shooter city to more or less play the voice FOR that city, relaying needs and wants from their home city to the Overlord. However, every five years each city holds another vote to either have someone new continue playing the voice for them, or keeping the current representative in place. Of course, if the representative fails spectacularly at being the voice of their city during their five years, they can be impeached, and someone else takes over. The Overlord cannot be dethroned nor impeached, unless they die of natural causes, a knife to the back, or willingly step down and pass the title off to someone else- more often times than not, someone within their family (a child). The Overlord gets the final say on how and if they will grant the demands of the city officials.
Religion: The Shooters do not consider themselves a religious race. Not many, if any, practice displays of care or acknowledge of the gods due to feelings of abandonment. The gods had forsaken them, they feel, giving all their 'children' magic, while giving Shooters nothing. Though lately there has been talk of a new god, one who had been just as neglected as they. This has piqued the interest of some of the younger Shooters who seek the possibility of being granted the powers they were robbed of. ...Meanwhile, the older crowd generally consider this a ruse.
