Nikolai Byko's Links
[Related] Nicolas's grandfather, but not by blood. Lust, wanting to get back at Sloth for letting Nikki sleep around with everyone, possessed his son momentarily. However, Nikolai loves his grandson! He finds the incubus's nerdiness amusing, and can even hold a conversation with him over anime and similar things when his parents can't even understand.
[Related] The grandson of Nikolai, though they are not blood related. It's Nikki's fault Nic even exists, with the Sin, Lust, trying to get back at Sloth by possessing his son long enough to harbor a child. Still, Nic doesn't hold ill will to his grandfather, and instead loves him!
Although his family is quite suspicious of the incubus, for there's an anime he watches religiously that happens to have a character very similar to Nikolai.
They work at the same school together. May have boned once. Twice. Several times. Neither have an interest in a relationship, however.
Alcott was a very interesting case for Nikolai. The teacher, despite his gorgeous looks, had absolutely no interest in intimacy. Naturally, the Sin pried, and as time passed he learned the reason behind it all. He was perhaps Alcott's only close friend at the time, letting him vent and even teaching him that sex can include romantic feelings and, surprise, consent. As much as he enjoyed his time with the teacher, Nikolai eventually broke it up.
Was it out of boredom?
Or did he perhaps have a moment of affection and pity that didn't want to see Alcott's heart broken again?
They work at the same school together. May have boned once. Twice. Several times. Neither have an interest in a relationship, however.
Due to Alcott's past he had been convinced that sex had nothing to do with love, only carnal desire (not including him). Nikolai was the first to teach him that you CAN have feelings while being physically intimate. The Sin was careful with his approach, building up Alcott's trust and helping ease him into the situation. It was an incredible vent for Alcott, but in the end they both knew it wouldn't work.
Although Alcott wouldn't be lying if he said he had hoped he had a chance keeping Nikolai around.
With both being Sins, they're coworkers. Nikolai doesn't visit very often, though when he does he finds Jet's bursts of anger more amusing rather than irritating like everyone else does. He enjoys teasing the man, though he himself never plays the slots. That requires too much focus. No, he'd rather watch the magic shows and guest stars.
They're coworkers, in a way, with him being Greed and Nikolai Sloth. The lazy guy visits very rarely, but when he does he's absolutely annoying to the CEO. He flirts with all the workers, including him! AND HIS BROTHER!! That is, if he's not sleeping somewhere. Despite how much of a bum he is, Jet can't help but feel like Nikolai's already a step ahead of him.
He's most likely the reason behind the stripper rumor.
Nobody knows how they know each other. Whenever Nikolai's name is brought up, however, the priest goes into an unimaginable rage and foams at the mouth.
[Employee] When Nikolai sat in the snowy battlefield to await death, he was instead approached by the strange person with the head of a lamp. The man offered him Sloth's soul, and the rest is history. Nikolai has known Lan perhaps the longest out of the other Sins. He trusts the embodiment, and sometimes even looks to him as a father figure.
[Boss] When looking for someone to house one of the seven emotions he had made, Lan came across a young man void of life and emotion; a shell that would make a perfect vessel. He offered the young man Sloth's soul in return for a life of revenge.
Nikolai was summoned by Earle and was amused by his desperate plea for power. He freely granted him the abilities he desired, but in return he took the rule over true love and twisted it. If Earle wanted powers to win back the person he loved, fine. But it'd certainly be interesting to watch him reunite with someone he'd soon find he doesn't love.
Nikolai was the demon Earle summoned and gave his soul to. He hasn't interacted with the man at all ever since, and is very pleased with his powers, yet can't shake off this feeling that he's been caught in a web...
"You're not exactly the one I was planning on marrying, dearie. Especially with that hair."
"This is my sleepy husband."
[Related] Nikolai is Aysun's adopted father. He was extremely hesitant around the idea of a child in his house, but his lover at the time was adamant about keeping him around. Eventually Nikolai enjoyed having the toddler around and took Aysun under his wing. It also helped that the boy shares his uncle's energy and was happy to clean around the house.
[Related] Aysun is Nikolai's adopted son. He was wary around the lazy man but quickly warmed up around him. Although he learned many of his mannerisms, Aysun was also a very helpful hand around the house, oftentimes cooking and cleaning... mainly because Nikolai's too damn lazy.
Before Nikolai had become the Sin he is now, he had been a captured soldier that was sent to the camps for doctors to perform experiments on. Decius was one of the lead doctors that worked on him, torturing him to death until Sloth granted Nikolai the powers needed to escape.
Before developing his immortality serum, Bernard Rieux was a doctor that tested on people. His research was focused on non-humans and how to grant humans such abilities. During his research, he came across Nikolai and incidentally awakened his Sin abilities. They met years after the war, where Nikolai granted him the needed ingredients for his immortality serum in return for helping the Sin with a problem of his own. The two keep tabs on each other but don't seem to converse freely, rather choosing to avoid each other when they can.
Nikolai's always been drawn to the strong, serious types. He loves teasing Charlotte and gossiping with her, although sometimes he feels he's the closest she has to being girly. He tries to help her hone her skills of seduction, but it seems that all that's done is accidentally charm her. Now isn't that quite the pickle?
Charlotte regards Nikolai as a close friend, if not her best friend. She's not usually fond of the flirtatious, sleazy types, but something about him draws her to him. She initially went to him for help learning how to be an assassin capable of using seduction as a skill, but his lessons were so... close that she's found herself swooning, whether she wants to or not.
Nikolai finds Tori to be a rather annoying nuisance. What's worse is that the energized brat likes to mess with Eri, so Nikolai does well to remind him of just how dangerous Sloth can be. He's come very close to crushing that damned mask several times.
Although Tori is considered a minor god, his powers don't compare to the original emotions, otherwise known as the Seven Sins. And of all the people to blockade him, it's the lack of all emotion, Apathy! Nikolai only seems to involve himself in Tori's shenanigans when it involves Eri, so the deity does his best to steer clear of them for fear of being destroyed.
In order to get a paycheck, Nikolai has to go through performance meetings with someone from Hell, meaning Gustav. The meetings are far too boring for the Sin, so he tries to avoid them when he can.
Half of the time Gustav is on Earth it's specifically because of Nikolai. He has to CONSTANTLY check and make sure this guy is actually spreading Sloth instead of being lazy on his own. Unfortunately, Nikolai is stronger than he leads on and easily overpowers Gustav each time. And if he's not doing that, he's flirting mercilessly with him.
Nikolai's been amused by the hunter the moment he saw him. Is it really smart for such a weak-willed man to hunt vicious monsters? Whatever the case, the Sin plans to follow him around and offer assistance when he can... for a price~
Scott feels irritated by Sloth's presence whenever he seems to be in a pinch. He despises having to admit that he's weak and needs Nikolai's help. It's embarrassing, really. Especially because Scott has to give or do something for him in return. God knows what he'll make him do.
Nikolai sealed away Envy's soul long ago. How they got out and got a new body is beyond him, but it makes him nervous.
When Envy isn't talking about what looks to steal its talking about Sloth, and now all NV wants is to meet this Sloth and get Envy to shut up.
So Jet turned a pet into a human, did he? Sounds... not like him, admittedly. But it intrigued the slothful Sin. He wanted in, so he granted Tilla the ability to become human. He didn't have any twist for their deal, instead turning that twist in Jet's direction via betting on which rabbit/human Tilla would end up falling in love with. He personally believes the bashful restaurant owner Kon will win.
What a kind, generous person Nikolai is! If it weren't for him, she wouldn't ever have gotten to experience what the joys of being human are! And he asked for nothing in return! Truly he must be some sort of angel, right?
A strange man, that Ace is. He's in just about every coffee shop the Sin goes to! Is he stalking him...? What's more interesting, no matter when Nikolai's there or which cafe he's at, Ace is always flirting with someone! Maybe he considers the Sin competition instead?
Everyone has favorite customers, but for Ace he'd consider Nikolai his least favorite. He breaks couples up if their love isn't strong enough, but Nikolai does it just for the hell of it! He gives love a terrible name, and he can't stand serving this guy coffee.
Nikolai had no idea that the man at the lemonade stand he was teasing mercilessly just so happened to be one of the first reapers. Vy's certainly cuter than he thought, in more ways than one! Their fun played its course, but to this day Nikki still likes to stop by and flirt with him for some free lemonade.
After a little under a century of being around Vy had met Nikolai. Naturally, that meant they became intimate. Even with all of Nikki's wrongdoings, Vy isn't upset. He's glad to have experienced some new things that are common with mortal humans, and he still has a soft spot for the Sin, though he definitely understands why everyone he spoke to described him as dangerous.
Oh, but Loretta is SO much fun to tease! He loves to laze around in her bakery and tease her while seeing her face frozen in place all the time. Sometimes he'll egg on the hopeless romantics at her store to go on and get her gifts and admit their love to her, then grabs himself a coffee to watch the fireworks.
The only time he finds himself getting serious, though, is when Alcott is involved. He can't say he particularly approves of her ideas for him.
If she could chase him out of her shop with a broom like an animal, she would. Nikolai causes nothing but trouble around her bakery, and yet for some reason she keeps letting him come and get his coffee. Old habits die hard, she supposes, reluctantly referring to him as "friend". She knows he doesn't like her "helping" Alcott, but she has her own goals to fulfill, with or without his approval
[Related] Normally Nikolai wouldn't have even thought of coming NEAR an orphanage, but there was a boy he'd been interested in. One that was related to someone he knew a long, long time ago. When that very boy posed a threat to the orphanage over a monster the Sin had gotten rid of, Nikolai decided to take him in. It's the least he could do for that person...
[Related] At first Reggie hated the idea of being adopted by someone like Nikolai, but he couldn't deny how strong that guy was, and how grateful he was for the orphanage being saved. Over time he's gotten used to how lazy Nikolai is, and someway, somehow, he's grown on him. He considers him an actual dad now... even if they look to be around the same age now...
[Employee] The minute the two even met there was something between them. Maybe that's why Nikolai doesn't mind being a substitute. It's nice to get to visit George now and then~
[Boss] Teachers are always out for any reason, so it's good to have some dedicated substitutes ready to jump in, and Nikolai... sleeps through his calls half the time. Why does George keep him on staff?
Well... I-It's... He...
Okay, yes, they have a relationship time-to-time.
Pride is almost as bad as Envy, in Nikolai's opinion. And Ray? Insufferable. Such a loud man that boasts about every little thing. Couldn't he do that to someone that doesn't need to nap...?
Apparently Sloth and Nikolai is Lan's favorite. Why? He doesn't do ANYTHING and he literally doesn't care, it's in the name! What about all the things Ray and Pride have done? Look at the world, they have way more influence than Sloth, they should be the favorites!
Sienna is attractive and certainly has more to her story, but the longer Nikolai spends time with her the more he feels his own story will end up being rewritten whether he likes it or not. Goodness, but aren't princesses just the neediest~?
“Damn, the way he just poofs away in purple smoke makes me want to handcuff him to my bed…”
Sienna meant that in a non-horni way, by the way. She finds Nikolai infuriating, but dragging him along on her adventures and subsequently pissing him off is pretty funny. Having a sleazy and lazy man involved in her mess is proving to be quite entertaining so far…
For someone rumored to be oh-so intimidating and scary, Eddy does a poor job of keeping Nikolai away. Like a stray cat he just keeps coming back, if not to tease those around him then certainly to see the look on his face when they cross paths.
Eddy can't STAND Nikolai. He doesn't even have a SUBSTITUTE license!! And every time he's kicked out he just somehow finds his way back into the education system?! WHAT is going on, and WHY is George not angry about this?!
