The Time Entity

??? || Varies, but usually 8' || weightless || Does she even bleed? ._.

Personality:

Cold - Stern - Manipulative - Apathetic

The Time Entity works with others solely out of necessity, not out of wholehearted desire. She's cold and focused solely on her goals of managing the timelines better than her parents ever could. With that comes her hatred for failure, and she can be quite punishing to those who fail her one time too many...although she had to understand that failure was inevitable as no one's perfect. Not only that, years of studying several species and individuals has made her a master of spotting signs and using those weaknesses of heart to manipulate or gaslight anyone working under her into compliance. Her ultimate goal is to rid herself of the need to rely on underlings, but until she can locate that last fragment of time containing her body, she must manage with a home outside of time itself, only occasionally appearing as a wispy ghost near her minions.

Origin:

In a Time long forgotten, there were 3 guardians of time: Quartz of the Future, Spring of the Present, and Erion of the Past. These three lived in a blossoming city of Continuum, and oversaw all of time from within their towers. At some point, they decided they needed an assistant, an individual who could reach the other guardians more efficiently. Many days were spent, designing and planning this assistant: It had to have an understanding of time on par with a Guardian of time. And given how it would bounce between all three, it had to know or even see the timelines as a whole.

From those plans, came Pendulum, nicknames "Penny" by her fathers. She was like a daughter to them: They treated her with utmost care, and taught her the ins and outs of the city and their towers. Some even taught her some small trades to keep her occupied if she was bored (Quartz and Spring taught her clock making) For a while, everything went well: Continuum City welcome Penny with open arms, and she was never short of people she could call "friends"...

But for here, there was a problem. She'd see certain disturbances in the timelines, ones she considered very serious due to it messing up the course of events: And yet when she tried to get her fathers to do anything about them, she was brushed off. "It's nothing major" One said about a time traveler who caught Penny's eye, "They haven't seriously messed with timeline: Minor events change, yes, but it always fixes itself in the end. Time's funny that way". This built up into a complex of thinking she knew how to run Time better than her fathers, and she went to the center of the city to prove that...By taking over the timeline itself, so she'd be the sole voice on any matters.

Quartz and Spring, fearing for their creation's life, tried to stop her. Tried as they had to reason with her, their words fell on deaf ears, and she attempted to absorb the power of time itself. The consequences were...unspeakable. Penny's body was taken by time itself, before breaking. Quartz and Spring died. And Continuum City started to be torn apart at the seems of time. To remedy this, she cut the city off from the rest of time, and placed it in a pocket dimension to keep its rot from spreading to other places. As for herself, she made herself home inside the Timeless Void, and recreated herself from memory. At the time she was but a ghost in time, left with the revelation that two of her fathers died so she could be the sole judge, jury and executioner of time itself. But without a body, she had no way of really enforcing her judgements upon those who broke the rules of time...

But she could make clocks. So she made clocks. And found when given a bit of her power, she could commune with the bearers of her power. And the rest was history....

Abilities:

Absolute control over time

  • Time-based weapons (Spear is a favorite)
  • Intangible
  • Shapeshifting

    Other:
  • Has a general liking to anything that makes a ticking noise, be that metronomes or clocks, and usually tries to be around those.
  • It does have high hopes for the current bearer of the Timekeeper's power (Macovenom). Often portrays herself as a mother figure to him as a result, as she sensed that he missed his mom the most.
  • Erion is still alive within the remains of Continuum City. Time Entity wouldn't be too happy seeing him again, however.
  • Her real name is a bit of a touchy subject for her, so try not to refer to her as Penny or Pendulum.
