Flint Blade

40 || 5'10" || ??? || O+

Personality:

Stoic - Awkward - Reserved - Judgmental - Charismatic

In his many years of hunting vampires, werewolves and other supernatural entities, he...hasn't really dealt with normal people all that much. Preferring to keep to himself at social gatherings and stay away from people, one could easily make the assumption that he was a Grade A introvert. But, he's actually rather extroverted: he is quite the smooth talker who can keep a level head when dealing with the unknown, it's just that he often assumes that a slight deviance from the norm (strange colored eye, having a lot of body hair, or even simply hiding your face with a paper bag!) could be a sign that you're a supernatural entity, and he'll treat you as such, trying to figure out what entity you are.

Background:

Flint pretty much had a normal upbringing, only made vaguely interesting with encounters with the supernatural. He was from a long line of vampire hunters, and as such he was trained in the art by his father. Although, he wanted to expand his reach and learn how to hunt other entities, and as such, he researched and learned from other places, from libraries to mentors willing to teach him. At some point he needed to pay the bills and find connections/a dedicated monster hunting group. He heard about a group called "The Knights of Hanging Sun" from his father, so he sought to find the group to join for himself. Using some of the knowledge of their existence his father gave him when he was a child, he found the group, and joined them after proving his skill.

From there he further honed his skills and knowledge with the group, under the belief that they were just a monster hunting group with no evil underbelly to them whatsoever. With the aid of the Knights, He eventually was able to land himself a job as a special contractor for the police force, dealing with any entities that were much too weird for normal police to deal with. The group continued to support Flint in his endeavors, and he in kind passed along some information he gathered about the members of the PD, especially on the weirder ones. But tension was starting to build: He made friends within the PD: Some the Knights didn't approve of (Rostislav was the biggest offender for them, since they saw the monster part of him while Flint saw the man side of him). Not only that, he was starting to drift away from the Knights. They tried to bring him back under their wing with incentives, offering extra supplies for his monster hunting if he returned to the group. But he wasn't interested in such things: He was beginning to question some of the group's methods. Despite Monster hunting paying so little, they always had enough funds to keep things running. This also caused tension between himself and both his friends and his student, as his wavering loyalty was straining their relationship. But nonetheless, he tried to keep his friendships within both places

...However, the incident that broke the camel's back was a conversation he overheard between some higher ups. Listening in further, he learned the group had sold the Toledo Mob some changling wards (Items made of iron, usually life threatening to them). Once he gained that information, he immediately told the PD about it, informing them that Ytze couldn't be deployed there, as he'd not only get caught pretty quickly, but the iron alone would kill him. Upon learning this, the PD changed tactics immediately, opting not to deploy an undercover cop at all until they could come up with a better solution.

After this incident, he kept himself as far away from the group as possible, aligning himself purely with the PD. He knew his actions angered the Knights, but he wasn't going to just let them indirectly kill a cop for money. They mostly left him be, trying to feed him lies that they disbanded or were no longer in Toledo...until he told the PD about the true nature of the Knights. At that point, they opted to just murder him outright, sending one of their men after him. The attempt was...almost successful. Had medical interference happened a few minutes later, he surely would've died then and there. But, he survived. By that point, the group cut their losses with Flint and finally left him alone, where he'd become a full fledged cop, specializing in the unknown.

Other:

-If he and Reagan are paired to deal with something, it usually means nobody knows if what they're dealing with is supernatural or not, or maybe both is involved.

-He is secretly gay

-The scar was from "an amateur mistake", As Flint puts it.

-has actually mentored someone himself. Where his student is isn't known, outside of he sided with the Knights (despite Flint trying to convince him that they weren't a good group to be around)

-Possibly autistic?

-Father was a famous hunter known as "Vence Blade". Was as cold as ice to Flint, seemingly to show that the world is bloody unfair and cold. Some though speculate that Vence only had a kid so his line of Vampire Hunters could continue
