"HA, YOU AIN'T GOT A CHANCE, LEMONADE HEAD! LET'S SEE WHAT YOU GOT!"
"HEY LET'S FIGHT I THINK I CAN BEAT YOU THIS TIME, RIGHT?"
Lin's father helped Taka's parents escape the Yakuza's grip when they escaped to America, and when his parents passed away, it was Lin's mom that taught Taka how to become a leader. He considers them like an aunt and an uncle, highly respecting them. He thinks of Lin as a kind of younger brother, letting him eat at his restaurants for free.
Lin considers Nobutaka as the "rough and tumble" type of older brother - who eminates a same atmosphere as Nio. Taka has known his family before Lin was born, which automatically makes the mobster a man of respect and of higher authority to him.
...Sometimes he just wants to eat and sleep in one of his many restaurants located in the city.
Emery's rival and eventual "business partner." She only found him as a nuisance going against the Prodigal before the girl could realize his potential - therefore doing everything she could to reach some form of compromise. Now, the problem subsides and they simply ask eachother for favors from time to time. Emery contacts Frederick for support and sometimes invites him out for dinner. Emery doesn't have friends when she's working under Grandfather - with the exception of Mr. Waltz.
When tasked with taking Grandfather's life, Frederick tried to hack into one of the servers run by Prodigal. There he was surprised to find someone capable of fighting off his virus in real time, even as much as sending it back. When he met Emery, they reached a deal of her keeping his secret in exchange for some tricks that could sharpen her hacking skills. They both regard each other as silent friends.
Elliot teaches Faith how to bake using his own recipes - as a trade for Faith teaching him how to cook different cuisines for his own future restaurant/bakery. Because of Faith's ideas, many of his pastries are often popular.
Faith is Elliot's mentor, often teaching him how to create new foods and flavors that could benefit Elliot's experience. Sometimes he allows Elliot to work in his restaurant if he ever needs the aid.
As for payment, Elliot teaches him how to bake and sometimes brings home a slice of cake specifically for the young chef.
Despite that he is the brother of his rival, let alone he looks identical to him, he can't help but to comfort him in his time of stress. He also enjoys eating his pasta.
Faith feels uneasy sometimes when he comes to visit his restaurant, although he can't help but cook for him. Overall, this mysterious figure often makes him in a better mood by the end of the day.
"We're twin brothers. We can do anything and everything together in unison."
"We're twin brothers. We can do anything and everything together in unison."
[Related] Jet always knew his brother couldn't keep it in his pants, but damn, FIVE kids? Hell, probably more! The CEO isn't very good with kids, even less so with angsty teens/young adults. He does enjoy trying to scam Motto now and then, or to dig up dirt on his dad, or sometimes just knowing what kids like so he can properly scam them. It always ends the same way, though: getting punched by Alcott as soon as he sees Jet close to his son.
He doesn't believe that this guy is his uncle. There's always something that seems off every time he sees/talks to him.
Although, he seems to enjoy watching his dad beat him up.
As much as he appreciates the amount of milk he orders, the Milkman does his best to stray away from him - he's always late to some of his deliveries because he's stuck listening to the Word of God.
The local milkman is a saint that brings only the finest milk to the Father's precious cats. He lets the milkman play with them, and enjoys talking to him for hours about the Scripture.
Emery is unsure why Father Priest appreciates her the most and his dislike towards the majority of her friends; she probably is the dirtiest and sinful than all of her friends. However, she takes advantage of this and likes to play with his cats.
One of the lowest points in Father Priest's life was when he lost his precious cat, Patience. Then, one day, Emery found him and brought him back to the priest. Father Priest has been grateful ever since, acknowledging her as an absolute angel and wholeheartedly believing she can do no wrong.
Emery knew that she had to save Luka from her parents' abusiveness. From then, she had taken her away and put her under Emery and the Prodigal's care. Elois, on the other hand, mentors her as if she was going to be the next Prodigal member.
There was no way Luka could put into words of how grateful she is to Emery. The young girl loves Emery and/or Elois unconditionally and will take her side no matter what.
Grandfather discovered this man in his house - a very unexpected precedent for the both of them. Then Atticus saved him from potential death. Since then their relationship grew, whether it's because of both of their attractions towards each other or perhaps something beyond that.
Jackson tends to break into houses that aren't occupied and spend a few days there before bouncing to the next house. His only problem this time was that he didn't expect the owner of the house to show up so soon! Not like he didn't mind, considering the owner was a handsome elder. They had fun moments until Grandfather ended up protecting him from Smiley. Ever since then Jackson has been very close to him, whether it's through a relationship or him just needing a thief to do some dirty work for him.
Siegfried used to be jealous of Saurin only because of his title and his easy life - even more because the Princess was much closer to Saurin. However, once had got to know this fine man, they became closer than ever.
At first, he was afraid that Siegfried would soil Elabelle, knowing of his poor background. However, after coming to know this man personally, he became fond of this individual. Despite his best friend doesn't appreciate Terry's company, Chanse thinks the complete opposite. He treats Terry as a friend by taking him out to places during his free time, like buying him coffee at the nearest cafe and buy him desserts and other foods.
He doesn't tell him, but he often takes Terry to a few restaurants here and there every time Hope isn't available (since he's spending time with Emery).
Chanse usually buys lunch so Terry thinks he's a swell guy. Likes to go to lunch with him just so he can order a lot of desserts.
They teach in the same elementary school, but through different grades. Their classrooms are next to each other. Yet, he comes to his classroom sometimes to sleep on his couch and using his high-end coffee machine.
Hope doesn't dislike him, but he is definitely indifferent because he doesn't understand how he became teacher of the year.
But shouldn't he be blaming the other teachers and the school board for such a thing? Eitherway, Hope thinks that he deserves the reward.
They work at the same school, but with different grades. Hope uses his sofa, so Terry flaunts his award. He doesn't know how he got it either, but he loves seeing the pretty boy get all worked up over it.
Viktor shares the same feelings with Reed and holds similar personal secrets. He's quite concerned for Reed's well-being, knowing that something he's gone through has affected him quite harshly. Konstantinov only now wants to be by his side forever and get back on their feet to start over again.
[Lovers] Reed had always felt some kinship to Viktor with both of their tragic pasts, though he could never understand how the Russian could stay so strong and keep from breaking down. He was a rough man to be around, but in the end, Reed feels he owes his life to him for opening his eyes and helping him out of that dark pit in his life.
He'd only crave for the love and happiness he always wanted in his life since that accident that risked his whole future. Then another unfortunate event where he thought this quiet love life of his would last forever, instead she left him and disappeared that only left him with such meaningful last memories. He heard rumors of a small place where he overheard his coworkers, where they all had achieved their love life - Chanse figured he could try it out.
He left the store and then came back with no avail - a month later with the cologne all used up and there was no affect. Of course, Valentine had took notice of it - and he works hard to be able to grant Chanse's small wish.
Chanse wasn't really sure what he's doing - but the notable benefit is that he always smells good and gets it for free.
The entire reason Valentine opened up shop at the mall was to help people fall in love. That's not just a job, it's his purpose in life. So when a sad, empty man walks into his store, Valentine knows exactly what to do. However, he didn't expect his cologne to have no effect on Chanse. Was it that the curse of loneliness was too strong around him? That was just unacceptable. So Valentine set his focus on enhancing his cologne, changing ingredients and making it better, and he always beckons Chanse over when the newest batch is done so he can try it out. Valentine absolutely won't rest until he's help that man find someone.
Viktor's "daughter" is one of the best friend of Alcott's son, Motto - which is how they've met. Viktor eventually hangs out with him and Arson, usually drinking and smoking together outside of a backyard. Although, he's annoyed by the fact they his two friends are often screwing around whether he's with them or not.
A drinking/smoking friend. Has a habit of accidentally forgetting about him when he's trying to woo Arson.
Emery considers Motto as an older brother, despite that she's barely a few months older than him. They've been recently seeing each other more often outside of their friendly hangouts, because of their fathers eventually befriending each other. And when Elliot is usually absent, Emery often comes to Motto to see if he can cook for her.
Motto has been classmates with Emery and Gret since high school. Although he isn't as close as she is with Regret, he considers her a valuable figure in his life as if they were siblings.
"I honestly don't even know what to say, Motto. But have you noticed that our dads have been fucking each other? I caught them the other day almost doing it in the backyard. Crazy huh?"
Because of Gret and Emery, Motto has been interested in Japanese culture - including music since Gret had introduced him to it when they were young. Motto has been recently seeing and visiting Gret more often because their fathers have been closer for the past months.
Regarding his small group of friends, he is often slow and has a hard time catching up and maintaining the energy they put up with the whole day. He is usually paired with Motto, which is convenient for Elliot because Motto is often calm and content.
Out of everyone in their group, Motto is closer to Elliot because they're usually left behind in their group occasions. Their favorite topic to talk about is food and they like to cook breakfast meals for themselves and friends.
[Related] Motto's father. Alcott's still baffled as to why he decided to stay with him despite his blatant hatred that sparked after the divorce. In his opinion, the kid's stuck in his rebellious phase, and loves to be a real pain in the ass at times - most likely got it from his mother. Motto does seem to like history, much to Alcott's relief, although only Eastern history...
One of Alcott's son - and the middle child. Although he has mixed feelings towards his father, he feels a bit more connection to him rather than his mother. People say that he's always quiet, he's actually more vocal to his father and often argues. Motto gets mad when his father starts to tell him that he's wrong in regards to world history (since his father is a History Teacher).
