Day 25: Tentacles

Veo gets ready for trick or treaters fairly early, still only midway through the day pretty much. But a child and his mother actually come by around this time, trick or treating early. They say it's before it gets too dark, which makes sense for the kid's age. So Veo goes ahead and gives the kid some candy early.
Though a few minutes later, the same thing happens with another family... maybe it's just starting earlier this year? Or the younger kids tend to do this, while the older kids wait until it's dark. He never gave out candy last year, so he'd have so clue either way actually.

Some of the costumes were fairly neat too, some homemade and some store bought for sure. The array of children dressed up in anime costumes was a little funny though, especially one anime that he knew the parents most likely watched and convinced the kids to wear something from.

One costume was rather impressive though, but fairly impractical. This one child walked up to Veo's doorstep, or tried to, with fully painted foam tentacles, and little suckers glued on as well. It was a deep purple, clearly a hazard for when it did get dark, so it made sense he'd trick or treat in daylight.
He was supposed to be an octopus, but the legs were connected to his body, and curled outwardly. So his costume was only making him wider, and made it hard to even get between the walls near Veo's door. The poor kid had to almost walk sideways to come get his candy, and Veo couldn't help but laugh a little at the silliness of it all. Of course not to the kid's face, he's not that cruel. He chuckled once the door was closed and tried to calm down a bit before the bell rang again.
