Greedy Bingo

After Reverie and Noah's eventful Halloween night, the two carried home their full bag of candy. Who would've thought that trick-or-treating wasn't even necessary? That generous kid they came across was more than willing to give from his own bag, after all.

The two got to the table and poured their collection onto the table, with Noah marveling at the tower of goods. Reverie, however, didn't even pause before taking one of her favorite chocolate bars from the pile and popping it into her mouth, feeling it melt on the tip of her tongue.

Noah, meanwhile, frowned and looked at her as if she had five heads. "Wha... that's mine!"

Reverie smiled gently at him, patting his head. "That's called the Mom Tax, kid. It's to make sure your food isn't poisonous, and it's also a cute little exchange between us. That's the only bar I'm taking, alright?"

"Okay..." he nodded, hesitantly taking his own bar and peeling the wrapper open. "It's not poisonous or filled with razors or something, right...?"

"Right! I checked the pile for you, and nothing dangerous is in there, I promise." Reverie started to organize the other candies, allowing for an easy picking later on.

With his own smile, Noah bit into his bar, savoring the sweet taste and the much-loved company of his favorite demon.
