Flower Hoard

Reverie was well-known across Hell for her love of collecting anything in sight; jewelry, patches, dresses... if a person could make a collection out of it, Reverie already had. However, out of all of her treasures, there was one hoard hiding in plain sight— in her owner's lawn, to be exact— that was the most treasured of them all.

Her wildflower hoard.

Sure, humans might call it a garden or something delicate like that, but that was such a weak word for it. She preferred to call it her patch of wilderness, a name it properly lived up to. A rainbow of native blossoms grew across the entire backyard, enticing all sorts of insects to call the background home. There wasn't a day that didn't go by without interactions with the wildlife— whether it was scaring off deer or protecting a butterfly cocoon, the little spot never ran out of learning opportunities for both the demon and her kid.

The patch only started to grow around five years ago, when Noah's parents' reluctance to care for their lawn led to Reverie buying a bunch of wildflower seeds and pouring them all over the place, watering them whenever she remembered to. Before long, however, it became the arrangement of blooms it was today, and Reverie couldn't be thankful enough for it. After all, Noah never had to travel far for a biology lesson again! It was a miracle, considering the frequency with which he missed school.

The demon walked through the dirt path she'd laid out with a smile, her fingers caressing the petals. This realm truly was more beautiful than she ever thought it'd be.
