"The group that created this shrine is long lost to memory and history... but I still think about them. What virtues do you think they valued if they created a place like this?"

Day 1 - The Scribe's Shrine

Bora tilted his head and blinked at the being who stood before him. How unusual. Sent here to investigate the strange goings-on, chains and islands and all sorts of madness erupting from blues of both the sky and the sea... and yet he could not have predicted that he would find such an ancient being (She must have been ancient, surely?) among the mortals (They were mortals, weren't they?) living in these new (well, new to him, at least) realms. And one who wasn't even a god like him, no less! Or... was she?
Ah, but that aside. She had posed a question, had she not? He would have to save his ponderings on her nature for later.
"Hmm," the smilodon hummed thoughtfully. "Their values, eh? I suppose..." He looked around at the stone pillars, and the intricate script they still bore, however many years after they were first carved. Illegible to him - He wondered if this scribe might be able to teach him the language - and yet still clearly visible. "Clearly, given the care taken to ensure these carvings remained long after their creators were gone, this group found great value in information, and ensuring that it would survive through the ages. Knowledge is power, as they say," he answered at last. "Not too far off from my own... mission, so to speak." Could he tell her of his status as a god? No... perhaps it would be better to wait. "And if they did detail information from both cultures, those of the sea and of the sky, then one would assume they sought some sort of peace, perhaps even unity. Or at least respect for each other, despite their differences. Valuing each others' cultures as they did their own."
But then Bora paused. Looking around... yes, this place had risen from the sea, and was covered in sand as if to prove it - Black sand, but sand nonetheless. Like land beneath water. "And yet... it may be presumptuous of me, but it seems they may have not been in such a harmonious balance as they liked to think, or wished to be. This place was claimed by the ocean, was it not? It rested beneath the waves? Unless such an island and such texts as these also exists above the clouds somewhere, or if this place traveled between the two realms," he said, looking skyward, "it would seem that, at least in terms of where this island and its pillars of text would reside, there could be no compromise. You would think that it would remain somewhere between the sea and sky, but that would appear to not be the case, at least from the perspective of an outsider such as myself, yes? Those residing below the surface felt the need to keep it themselves, for one reason or another. One would hope that this agreement was settled upon peacefully - Perhaps it was determined that it was safer underwater than in the sky, for instance - but given my understanding of this supposed eternal war between the kingdoms of the sea and the sky, I suppose you can understand why I suspect this was not the case."
