Clouds and Currents - VoK & HW 2021 Event Prompts

   As Nahia and Tamara caught their fish below, meanwhile, Bora was just reaching the end of the chain that led to the sky kingdom. And in that moment, he had to admit, he did rather wish they'd come up with a spell to let him fly up here, as Nahia had suggested. These chains weren't exactly the most convenient method of transport ever devised. Should have gone with stairs. Or an elevator, even!
   Still, this place was interesting, to say the least. Attached to the side of the floating island were what appeared to be docks - Did these people have airships? Or were those there for the residents who could fly of their own accord? And that river... That was intriguing. He'd not noticed any sort of water falling below, and yet there it was, clearly flowing over the floating kingdom's side. It smelled like a river, and not salt water, as well... then it must have been fresh water, surely. Where was its source? Could there have really been a freshwater spring up here, on this flying chunk of rock? He supposed the moisture of the clouds around them might have been enough to keep it filled, but it seemed like a stretch... or perhaps, since these people had magic, it was enchanted to flow back into itself when it drained out from the side, and that was why there was no waterfall to be found on the surface, and the clouds' moisture merely made up for that used by the kingdom's residents? It piqued his curiosity either way.
   And then there was the buildings. A great many of them sat in the middle of the kingdom, and on a stone hill overlooking them was what appeared to be... well, it looked like one part castle, one part factory. And there were chains leading to yet another island... And were those trees by the river, next to that shrine? How did they survive at this high altitude? They didn't appear to be coniferous, either, like those found at high latitudes and atop mountains on Earth. Were they also being kept alive by the same magic Allana had concocted for him?
   Regardless of Bora's interest, however, it would have to wait. He was here because of said cat's offer of assistance, after all. First things first, he would need to seek out the kingdom's warriors. And, unsure of where they were based... he supposed the best place to begin looking for information would be the town square. So he set off towards the town in the center of the island.
