No matter what tale you returned with (if you returned with one at all), the stone scribe invites everyone to sit down. Finely woven mats of dried grasses are stacked neatly beside her, available for anyone to take. Organized by groups on top of a thick sea-weathered wood board sits a variety of well-made and colorful snacks for you, her guests.
"Thanks for looking into all of this for me, I know there are many other things that you are being asked to do right now." The tapestry is moving between her paws-- she is weaving at a constant pace. "Why don't you tell me a story of your own? What have you been up to these past few days?"

Day 4 - The Scribe's Shrine

It was late when Bora and Edgar finally found the captain they were looking for, and later still when they returned to the surface and parted ways. But, in some ways, that might have been a blessing. As sun set, he went once more to the scribe's island, where this time, she was alone.
"Greetings, lady scribe," Bora offered. "Forgive my lateness - I had some business with the sky kingdom to attend to, and I'm afraid the directions I was given were rather... nonspecific."
The scribe, for what it was worth, didn't seem to mind all that much, as she offered the smilodon a seat - Though the snacks she had prepared for her guests were long gone by now. "It's not a problem at all. I know much is being asked of you right now - I'm grateful that you've found the time to do all of this for me at all," she reassured as she continued her weaving. "For what it's worth, I requested something a bit less strenuous of my guests. Allow me to pose the question to you as well: Do you have a story of your own you'd like to share? Tell me, these past few days, what have your experiences been?"
...Hm. An interesting question, and an interesting time to be asked it. "Hm. Well, I have stories I could offer, certainly, though I have to wonder if they would even be believable? My circumstances are... unusual, to say the least." He didn't know if he should even tell her in the first place. Realistically, that was an easy answer of no, and yet...
"We'll never know if you never say," the scribe replied, almost challengingly.
"Heh. A fair point," Bora acknowledged. And so he told her about how he came to this realm. News of chains and islands like her own appearing as if from nowhere, and his assignment to investigate them. How his apprentice following him when she should not have, and how she turned out to be... well, rather helpful, when it came to the chosen hero they'd met. How he was to look into the situation, rather than intervene... and how, when it was pointed out that, by doing nothing, the people of this world would surely perish. Just as his own had, several thousand years ago.
"And so you've gone against the orders of the other gods to take action here?"
"...I am the last of my kind," Bora said quietly. "I cannot undo the inaction that allowed the rest of my people to perish. But I can act to prevent such a tragedy from occurring here. Even if I cannot stand against this threat directly, I will help where I can."
"I see." The scribe's ageless eyes seemed to glint in response to that... or perhaps it was just an illusion courtesy of the setting sun. Regardless, she picked up the tapestry she'd paused her weaving on at some point during Bora's story, and resumed her work. "Thank you for this tale."
