The distant city in the sky calls to some of your pride/group members, but not to others; who stays behind and why?

Day 4A - Land

Whether because of the strange dreams, the exhaustion of training, or a general lack of rest, Tamaya awoke late that next day. When she finally roused from her slumber, Bora was just returning from... somewhere.
"Oh, good," he said, "you're up. The denizens of the sky... or, rather, the one who greeted us when we first arrived here, Allana? She's offered us assistance. Crafted up a spell that will allow Nahia and I to survive at the high altitude of the sky kingdom and encouraged us to seek out the kingdom's soldiers for assistance on the ground."
Nahia's eyes lit up. "Wait, seriously? We can survive up there now?" She grinned. "Ooh, think they've got some way to let us fly?"
"Think, Nahia. They made those chain bridges for a reason."
   "...Damn."
Allana had what? Oh boy. Tamaya was far from awake enough to be dealing with this right now. "Well, still, that's... great news!" she said groggily, forcing herself upright. "You should go! Go... Go get some help. I'm..." She hesitated and yawned and rubbed her eyes, trying to find some excuse. "I'm gonna stay down here. Those gauntlets you got yesterday? Great stuff, really effective against these rock monsters. I should stay down here, keep up with the training and the defending and everything."
Nahia tilted her head at Tamaya. Maybe it was because she was just waking up, but she didn't sound especially enthusiastic about this whole affair. And, well... "Actually," she chimed in, "Tama's got a point! The sky kingdom sounds good and all, but we probably don't need more than one person to go scout it out, right? And since we've got the battle claws-" She gestured to herself and her half-asleep companion. "-we should probably stick around down here and keep an eye on things, right? Don't want the rocklings causing any more destruction, and since Tama'a still training, someone probably oughta keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't get too roughed up by them, right?" She swished her tail and grinned. "Besides, intel-gathering is more your thing, anyway. I'm here to grind some rocks into sand."
"Hm. You, speaking logically? Maybe I gave up on you too soon," Bora mused. "Very well. I'll handle the task up above. You two, continue your training. But stay safe down here. The last thing I need to come back to is a lion with a broken rib." And he headed back the way he came.
When he was out of earshot again, Tamaya flopped back down on her side and sighed. Nahia sat down next to her.
"So," she said. "Bad experiences up there or something?"
"God, not really," Tamaya replied. "They're all fine, it's just... the expectations, you know?" She looked away, at nothing in particular. "I'm supposed to be some great hero, they all expect me to be this mighty warrior savior and all... and, like, yeah, we're making progress on the training and the traps and all? But... I mean, it's not like I'm exactly living up to those expectations. The titan is coming, and the best plan I've got is what? Shoot fireworks at it and hope that stuns it enough we can get it into the water? And what then? Wait for it to erode? Yeah, good luck with that. Sure, let's just keep fighting this thing for generations to keep it from killing us all. Also, since it's in the water, we may have to evacuate the entire sea kingdom at any moment!" She rolled over onto her back and stared up at the sky. "I still have no idea what I'm doing. They picked me for something I'm not capable of and basically said, 'You better not blow this, or all our blood and your own is on your paws!' What a joke."
