Author's Notes

This time, the scribe is nowhere to be found on the small island filled with carved stones. You see her pedestal empty. Carved into the stone base is all manner of symbols. Some are familiar to you, some are not. They spiral inwards like a shell. If you look carefully you can see that the style of carving on the closest pillars matches the style of the beginning symbols. And yet they begin to shift further and further away from being the same to similar, to unrecognizable compared to the carved work around you.
What is this?

Day 5 - The Scribe's Shrine

When he next arrived at the shrine where the scribe... lived? He supposed she lived here - He'd never seen her off the island, after all - the lioness was nowhere to be found, nor the tapestry she'd been working on. He supposed he would simply have to wait for her to return... if she returned at all.
Perhaps his story had been too much for her. Or perhaps she had decided that it was falsities after all, and run out of patience for them. He would have to wait and see.
And as he waited, he again began examining the stone carvings. Mmh... He never had gotten the chance to probe her mind with regards to the language. He wondered if he might have lost his chance.
But then, another set of carvings caught his eye, one he'd not seen before. Or rather, he had seen them, but not really processed them, too concerned with the lion sitting atop them. On the pedestal where the scribe normally rested was another set of carvings, resembling those on the pillars, which spiraled from the outer rims inward. Or, no... no, some of them did resemble those on the pillars, but as they approached the center, they seemed to change, growing increasingly dissimilar to those on the outside. This... Bora squinted at them. Were those more characters of the same script, or...? Could this be yet another language? If it was, it was yet another he was unfamiliar with... but perhaps they could be translated? Perhaps it could even act as a translation guide. Like that stone the humans had on Earth that bore the same text in multiple languages.
Curious. Especially the fact that this pedestal seemed to be the only one bearing such carvings... He would have to finally ask her about these scripts when she returned. If she returned.
