As the first blares of crystalline horns pounded the lions ears. The lions and small cats were summoned the vile creatures were here and ready to slice their stone cold claws into the newly trained army. Achilles was the first one up as he slid on his Spartan Helmet and the rest of his arm. Next up was Letaba in her Celestial Gear given by Taa Safi the former when she summoned. Then Diablo with his simple gear made of leather sprung up quickly sharpening his claws on the rocks before following Achilles and Letaba through the tunnels. They were the champions and they had the right to fight to their glorious death. Racing through the tunnels were all the creatures who raised there three claws high and the sky and sang there song of hope was surging forward to fiend off the first wave.

Achilles,Letaba, and Diablo had came to a agreement to take bioluminescent Algae that grew in some of the hidden caves and apply it to three of their claws creating a permanent stain that would last the weeks they would be there. It would help establish them from the rest of the champions and it would be easier to locate them on the battlefield against the monstrosities made of wood and soil, oozing with dark mud and lifeless eyes. As they broke to the lifeless night they were met with a lifeless volley of creatures hurtling toxic balls of soil and wood chips. Then the beasts surged forward it was nothing like the lions had ever seen before especially with what Chuki Safi always formed.

Diablo would have started using his teeth by now but he reckoned with the ways the lions got boils from the toxic soil balls being slung it would be best not to bite into them. So he pulled out his sword gripping it in between his fangs and went charging forward with the memories of his first battle ebbing like lulling tidal waves in his mind. That was when he met Varriya the sweet founder’s who was a absolute firecracker. Boy did he wish he was there by her side to help her wean the cubs. But surely he had to rescue this Guardian first as he started dismembering the vile creatures and wincing when a few boils started forming on his left paw pad. Even when they were dead it was toxic and damn did that rain not help their case.He just hoped that Letaba and Achilles were encompassing better luck then him.

As Diablo was gone from their line of sight is was just Achilles and Letaba now surrounded by a group of toxic wood chip cats letting out horrific screams with their dislocated mandibles. The two looked at each other giving a curt nod before pushing their backs together and fighting that way. Soon the first wave was exhumed and the rain was washing the toxic wood and soil goop off the cliffs. Achilles took a moment to catch his breath and shook out his fur as the rain continued pattering on him and his helmet. The young lion was just about to say something awfully flirtatious to Letaba before he was distracted by a lioness calling out for more warriors on the hill as the second wave launched. He quickly sprinted away leaving Letaba to fend for herself like Diablo did them earning boils near his ankles as a special treat for his thoughtfulness.

It was Kamala of the Motoheri pride with Chetan “standing in hindsight” of her when in reality he was across the battlefield.Just great he was saving his rivals tails when they attacked the pride and sub pride so long ago but she was beautiful standing there getting pelted by the rain. Achilles just prayed it wasn’t going to be a trap and he would wind up dead. His bluish three claws still illuminated his position as he pulled out throwing knives launching them to take out two of the beasts. Soon he was sailing through the air crushing the muddy beasts skulls under him. Boils formed on his paw pads making it hard for him to walk but he had to keep fighting onwards. Achilles gave Kamala a throwing knife to defend herself with as he launched his ones again taking out twelve of the beasts in one throw. He did have the knack for throwing things but if his achilles pads were damaged he would be done for.

Letaba couldn’t see Achilles or Diablo’s glowing claws till she was scratched in the hind quarters. The agony coursed through her nervous system as boils formed next to the wound to infect the scratch. She roared out in agony as she was partially mortal but that didn’t stop her from lashing out and taking out ten beasts in one throw of a battle axe. As Diablo kept fighting on he heard Letaba scream out but he was driving back the third wave with Chetan the Cheetah who’s pride members savagely attacked the Oasis pride. He hoped Achilles would help Letaba but it seems he was caught up with assisting Kamala and a bunch of small cats.

“Keep your paw at the level of your eyes!” Achilles screamed as the beasts were growing stronger and overpowering the small cats and Kamala was in no way shape or form a fighter. Yet he kept on fighting and taking them out till the waves stopped when the dawn sun broke loose.

Lions and Cat were collapsing left and right and so did Achilles. The boils brought so much agony the massive lion writhed under his helmet as medic surged out from the tunnels. It was beautiful sight in his eyes as he was rushed to the medical bay on pelts with Letaba and Diablo. He stared at the ceiling as the Healers got to work curing the boils with special crystals and poultices. Letaba’s hind quarters were all patched up and so was Diablo’s nose. Then they were released to go rest and soon they were all curled up into tiny balls sleeping out in the center of the town except for Achilles. His mind was preoccupied with the damsel in distress he “saved” earlier in battle but soon his eyes dragged him into a deep sleep as his head rested on Letaba’s cold shoulder.
