Letaba and Diablo were curled up under a tree in the clearing when they noticed the odd movement of lions and cats moving through the tunnels. It was like the first wave again, but this time they were a little worse off. The two slipped on their heavy armors over their bandages made of clean cobwebs and moss. This worried Letaba even more what if the other army was going to attack them. That had to be the case or why else would the lions be forming special lines and different strategic holds that last two days or even preparing for battle. They were going to be fighting other Champions, the champions they had once known and celebrated with...

—“The time is nearing... The real army is coming" A soldier tells them solemnly. "If they get through, they'll corrupt our goddess... They'll wither her away to nothing and we'll all be doomed." The soldier quoted—

Letaba looked at Diablo shaking her head softly,“I should have made him come with me and look at us now. We’re going to be on opposite sides fighting each other. I know he won’t fight me... but he could get possessed by the dying god and made to fight us,Diablo.”

Diablo sighed softly,“Then don’t provoke him in battle try to avoid him as much as possible. Hide out in the defenses and I will handle him. No I won’t kill him. I’ll just try and get him back to our side. I know how much that stupid kid-Lion means to you Letaba. He’s your one and only and well he was like a child to me.” He said softly and gently patted her with his tail to soothe her from the new possibilities that was arising for all of them. Today is the day were the army approaches them but the barometric pressure dropped as clouds flown in. The sweet smell had overstepped anything else, it was going to rain once again.

The creatures lurked, staring unblinking. Former friends gather among them, watching them in silence. As if they're not the ones who have chosen in error. Now it was the two opposing sides staring at each other as the sky cracked open with water. Diablo was now stuck second guessing himself as he tugged Letaba behind defensive walls for now. They had to figure everything out but they could while launching small leaf parcels filled with ripe berries that would explode onto the creatures and other champions. It was harmless it was more of a shock factor to deter the other army. Then they spotted Achilles by his three glowing Claws. Diablo made Letaba focus on the other section of army members that had lined up as they waited for the sound of horns. Feeling the icy rain pool over there gear but luckily they were warm with their thick fur. The rain was a treat in the Oasis pride and it sure did feel nice except for Letaba complaining about being on the other side of the clouds.

Achilles was sitting there with his allies encompassed as the fresh smell of rain approached . That had been the only good smell so he was summoned to this place. But as a soldier cried out with the withered tree,“ We rise at midday!” He couldn’t help but feel that he should have left long long ago. Achilles saw the fire soldiers used to warm themselves and took the scroll and the cloak and burned it despite Alexander’s disapproval. He sighed before yelling at them,“We are lions! We fight fair, we do not need the help of gifts laced with curses. This will be a fair battle.” Soon that got them back into the right mindset as they realized they were going to overpower their friends, mates, the champions they were once close with.

Yet he got up with the rest of the lions as another cat situated them into squadrons. His tail flicked layered with anxiety angst. Achilles would be fight two friends and his lover. Letaba was such a good friend to him and well such a amazing mate even though the last moment they had together was him sending her back to the tree as they decaying tree knew about her eternal life. But he knew it was safer for her to be on opposing forces especially with Diablo. That lion could absolutely tear through any beast or lion that came there way. And that meant he had to stay out of it as he slipped on his spartan helmet adorned with red tassels.

Achilles felt tears in his eyes as the rain clouds flooded in over head. Then he choked up at the sight and thought of shredding the beautiful lioness he professed his love to. He couldn’t do it. He wouldn’t do it not to her, not to her ever. She could attack him or fight him all she wanted to, spirits could maul his souls and steal it. Yet he wouldn’t fight her. He stand rigid and tall, he would be the lifeless regimental soldier he was now. As Achilles quietly sobbed and his lips quivered at the impending battle. But the lion didn’t move, didn’t break his ordered rank. He didn’t even shift his eyes to other lions. Achilles they fare with the sight of his friend and mate turning on him. It broke him it made him want to run back through the portals.

Achilles wished he would never came, but he would have still been a cub blossoming into adolescence. He wouldn’t have experienced his first battle or the idea of friendship. Achilles wouldn’t have had his first crush or know that his rival the Motoheri pride wasn’t completely horrible. There was the two sides of the scale here:beautiful realizations and then horrifying wretched blood shed over two gods who can’t figure it out them self. As they started to move out he let his salty tears fall under the mask of his helmet. He had regrets but he had dreams her too....
