An Alien Romance:[1010/1000]

Making their way down into the cave, it grows darker and darker around the small party lions, but eventually, it begins to grow bright. Theres a soft, pulsing blue light at the end of the tunnel. Following it further, it opens up into a massive cavern, covered in what looks like blue roots, red at the center it seems to be absorbing directly from the earth itself around it. Surely this is what is causing the disruption on the surface. Above them, red eyes leer menacingly. "I see you've found your way to my home" the voice croons uncomfortably. A lion...or rather... lion-like creature rests above them on a platform, something of alien origin. And the face- is familiar.

"Uuk'oks! Bad, Bad!" the visitor with your pride declares. Rearing up a big 'leap' it wiggles its rear in the air before taking a pounce. Apparently...gravity in this world is different because it doesn't go anywhere near as far as it expected to. The other being, Uuk'oks, as the alien had declared, narrows its eyes "I see. So this simpleton dragged you here." it eyes the other outerworldly lion, and without another word, leaps from its perch to lunge at them, determined to remove them before they can be a threat. Perhaps, this visitor knows something the duo didn’t about their intruder....making them dangerous.

It seems like Uuk'oks is up for a fight, long whip-like growths emerging from its fur to act as weapons as it attacks, and ridges of armor sprouting along its body to protect itself. Skarde didn’t mean to refer herself as Uuk’oks but she simply was too excited to protect herself and her two mentors from the grey and black spotted lion with glowing yellow eyes. Now Ubbe and Ivar didn’t know this guardian or what they their called gods as it wasn’t in their region but the two watched with sensitive eyes as it paced around Skarde.

Skarde swiftly lept into challenged battle with Chuki Safi, Ubbe quickly launched into picking up as many stones he could as possible to throw at the demon king or Polaris Guardian, whatever the hell he called himself. But it seemed not to phase him even when Ubbe chomped onto his bone armored tail, which made Ubbe recoil in agony. His gums was now bleeding as he softly pressed his tongue over his chipped back tooth. That was one of the dumbest things he had done for what could be love, but it wouldn’t be true love if you didn’t chip a tooth for each other.

As Ivar tried slinking away to abandon the two lovebirds grappling with the guardian he was stopped by Ubbe slamming his claws into his hindquarters and snarling into his ears “to not abandon a fight like the snake he was.” Now the brown lion was taken off guard but he quickly slunk back into battle trying to dodge fireballs being bounced around the cave walls like a cub batting about tiny tumble weeds in the sun. Ubbe was blindsided by a massive tentacle reaching for a stalagmite but he found the fearsome creature in front of his eyes a beautiful work of alien life form. He was definitely lovesick now and it was Ivar’s turn to knock some sense into Ubbe so Skarde wasn’t doing all the work of protecting them. But it was all too late one massive explosion sent Ubbe and Ivar out of the cave back to the forested banks. And the cave had fallen in with the two fighting lion based beasts of the realm. Chuki Safi had swiftly opened up his bridge to hell and disappeared back to his fiery hell.

But as singed ashes swept up into the air like a whirl wind, Ubbe was struggling to roll to his feet as he choked for the harsh air tormenting his lungs. Yet the day was saved as the expedition members for the evil duo who decided to run off and face the alien like creatures alone. Ivar had been up and lapping crazily at the water banks to quench his unimaginable thirst. Ubbe just laid their with wide eyes as the king scooped water up into a moss ball for the red and crimson candy cane stained lion to thirstily lap at before realizing his biggest fears had came true. He had abandoned her. The lioness with a broken tongue who had a pure heart. Ubbe rolled over and grunted in agony as he shook out his singed mane, “Where. Where. Is she?” He heaved out while three different lions told him it was better for him to save his breath, that’s when he saw the downed cave.

“Shut up!!! She is in there and she is dying!” He snarled as he launched himself up with the assistance of claws and started  flying towards what he remembered was the entrance of five minutes ago that seemed to be a eternity. Ubbe started clawing and ripping up rocks to find the lioness he cared about. He gritted his teeth as his lungs and muscles burned while he continued searching for Skarde. By this rate there had to be hardly any oxygen left for her, did she even need oxygen? He had no clue but as he pressed his ear  close to the hole he had formed, he heard soft pained breathing and a tiny tuft of purple fur. Ubbe  quickly unhedged the lioness who had transformed back into her normal colorful form.

But as he pulled her into the cool grass he stuck his cold wet nose into her neck to find some sort of life he had heard earlier. She couldn’t be gone... She just couldn’t! Ubbe’s heart said stingingly. They didn’t even get a chance to fight, she didn’t even get a chance to fight. The lion rumbled softly as he collapsed next to Skarde. His body ached but he managed to curl up around her protectively as he silently wept. Ubbe was distressed on what he could do but maybe it was too late for them...
