A Smiling Shadow: [1010/1000]

As Ragnar finished his fear biting, spine tingling, gut wrenching, speech of cluelessness. The lions in the midst stared with widened eyes of curiosity. Was it a gift from the gods? Were the finally being blessed by Woden and the others above. Surely the keepers of the realm was finally satisfied with their work despite the massive plights of heart ache unleashed by bitter lions. The meteor had surely started shaking with fear of the creatures around them? Possibly. Or maybe it was curious of the oddities and the dialect of the Bokmals of Valhalla possessed in there intricate souls.

Ubbe blinked daftly before cracking a dumb joke to compensate for the fear that glistened in his eyes. Ivar simply just glared at the candy cane colored lion and mouthed with aggressive hisses as well as baring fangs,“if you don’t shut up this instance I will tie you up with the nearest set of reeds and pour paint on you before sticking you to the mast.” Ubbe’s eyes widened slight as a raider he normally would have laughed it off but when his evil partner in crime started threatening lions or him. Ubbe knew he was meaning his words and the there was little to no chances of getting on his good side again.

But the two were simply distracted once again by the glowing thing aggressively shaking and cracking. How peculiar? Ivar had only witnessed newborn birds crack out of there shells as well as creatures of the beach that had been burrowed depth beneath the sandy banks. Yet this thing was fascinating, especially as Ivar watched the rock bits and gem shards shoot out like the quills of woodland beasties. As more and more fragments either dropped off and broke to the ground or was ballistically launched. It was enough to make all the lions, even the king and his children to back off.

Then it all had stopped.... The rock was blown clean in half now and the lions had fear in their eyes as Ragnar was feet in front of them. With eyes three times bigger then the creatures around them, how could this light trick deceive them. For sure it was dark... But shadows could move with the instances of clouds covering the object providing them the light. Yet when the King checked there sky was still a beautiful dark gradient with dashing little stars to sprinkle joy in the hearts of little ones.

But Joy wasn’t present this night, and neither was the breath of the lions around. The lioness’s of the pride gasped in astonishment as the shadow creature finally made itself known to the crowd. The lions were flexing their claws protectively while nuzzling weapons to their mates so they could protect and all cubs when it came to fight the creature or so they boldly assumed. The wrecker of the meeting hall was finally here... In spite of all that, the oddly matted shadow creature with ominous red eyes only cracked them a haggle-toothed grin before fleeing for the mountains.

Ragnar took a few moments to blink to himself to comprehend what the hell, he had actually seen in front of him. Ubbe was braiding bits of his long mane to prepare for the chases of all chases in their home lands. Ivar was smirking and trying his best to compose his laughter as a even better plan was twisting around in thorn laced mind. Bjorn, Hvertsirk, and Siguard was murmuring to each fears as they protectively guided their mother into her home to make sure her safety was ensured before they went around nudging the elderly back indoors.

The king seemed disturbed before he called order to his pride,“A beast is in our lands despite the smiles it gave off. We know not to trust it... Siguard help the Seer move the crystal fragments to his tent so he can spend his time communicating with the gods for answers of what this might be. Hvertsirk start organizing guards for the seas as well as throughout our territory. Bjorn come with me as well as anyone who is fit and willing to come with me on this new hunt. We are blessed by the gods above that no one was hurt this day and we must keep it that way... Everyone is dismissed if you weren’t dismissed earlier.” He said finishing his speech off with a curt nod while gazing at the lions taking to his commands. Ragnar swiftly sharpened his claws against a tree before walking into his home to muzzle his mate one last time... It was rough leaving on a another journey so soon but there was some perks as he didn’t have to change out of his armor or wash up so spins. Yet the cons was what worried him the most.

Within moments it was time as everyone who planned to go on the journey was tucked under the tree together. Ragnar left his mate in charge as she was more then capable in his eyes and proved her worth more then ever as a shield maiden. And with a swish of the tail they were off following the king with no more worries of who was in charge or what was happening back in there broken epicenter they were now looking for any and all tracks left behind by the beast. It was hard sense no one got a clear whiff of the shadow like thing.

After they would track it, they would first offer to bring it back with peace and if it refused it will pay for its crimes by joining the pride until they could send it back to the gods. There was no way it could be friendly the smile engraved into the Bokmals minds was similar to Ivar’s... And if Ivar was cruel and crazy then the weird shadow creature with red eyes just had to be also... Nobody voiced it aloud though especially when they were treading into rockier portions of their lands. But they were going to capture the beast...
