Q45. Are any of your OCs dead, planned to die, or have been dead at any point (even if only briefly)?
Oh boy, Arrans has been dead more times than anyone can count, but unfortunately for him, it never sticks. His ultimate goal is to stay dead for once, but due to a complex set of circumstances that's currently impossible. He spends a lot of time thinking of ways he can end his own life or otherwise shed his mortal form, but for now he's bound to life, until he can find someone else to end him. Deals with devils are a hell of a thing.
My unnamed zombie girl is, well, a zombie, so she's in a fairly liminal state of life and death. Similarly, my knight Warren, depending on the universe, is undead.
The death of this unnamed girl is actually the crux of her story, but that's still in planning, so I don't have a great deal of details to share on it yet. Raleigh, in the original draft of the story he's part of, was slated to be killed by public execution after he murdered a man in the defense of someone he cares deeply about, but if I ever revisit the story that may change. Many of the others in his same storyverse are deceased by the time of a story set some 45 years later in the same place, due to various causes. Many of my demon characters are slated to die eventually, but that as well is mostly a case of old age and an extended timeline.
Q46. Which of yours OC's looks are the most deceiving?
Many of my characters' looks actually fit their personalities rather well, but let's see...
Kiri, who I don't yet have many pictures up yet of, is a very small and frail-looking child, but she's also a skilled assassin and incredibly dangerous to be around. Santi, similarly, is incredibly elegant in appearance, but in reality she is intensely ruthless and violent. She gives no quarter to anyone who opposes her ideals, and is ready to put her spear through the heart of anyone who would even dare to speak ill of her Goddess. She has the grace of a butterfly and the temper of a wolverine. AKINO-75 is a small and rather cute android with the power to destroy the entire universe. Estarath is a fearsome red dragon in the body of a tiny girl.
Ori's appearance is actually one that is misunderstood on a societal level. Amongst most people, his race is considered dangerous and violent, because they live isolated from mainstream society, and are primarily carnivorous, which is unusual among the races in their country. Ori himself is large and intimidating, and carries himself with an aggressive air, partly because of the way he's been treated and partly because he's just incredibly anti-social to begin with. In reality, he is sweet and kind, and incredibly gentle. He's unused to kindness, but those who are kind to him will have the favour returned ten-fold. His hands are large and strong, and could easily crush most things, but he spends his time making handicrafts, and keeps small animals as pets. Once you get past his brusque shell, he is a quintessential gentle giant.
Q47. Which of your OCs have the most regrets?
A lot of my OCs have various regrets, but Vanik is probably the king. He's done more things in his life that he regrets than most, primarily because these things have often backfired on him spectacularly. When he was young he often bullied his weaker twin brother mercilessly, but when his brother got much older and stronger, he came back to exact his revenge. Later, Vanik was quite cruel to and drove away someone who would prove to be his only friend, and found himself utterly alone, which lead him down a path to the apprenticeship of a very bad man; the experience would scar him deeply. After that, he did something greatly irresponsible, which cost him the life of his first-born son. His life is a series of regretful things and tragedies caused by his own folly, which he doesn't manage to acknowledge until very late in his life.
Tilia regrets that she could not do more to prevent the downfall of the kingdom and court she once served. She was sent away before her liege was murdered, and every day she regrets that she wasn't there to protect her. Koss and Mirko, in very different worlds and times, regret that they were not alive during a time when the world was more alive and thriving, but being that there's nothing they can do about it, they've both learned to live their lives. Mirko also regrets that he was unable to save his older brother from a brutal death, when they were very young. And of course there is Arrans above, whose unfortunately made pact has caused him a regret that spans centuries.
