Iso's OC Question of the Day

Q18. Which of your OCs is your favorite, or who are a few of your favorites? Why?

UGH, I was dreading this type of question. ^^; I have far too many babies to choose from, but let's see if I can narrow it down. SORRY IF THIS IS LONG

I definitely have a lot of love for my darling Neoka. Although my writing is scattered all over and in fragments most often because my motivation and inspiration is sporadic, I seem to write about him the most. He's just so easy for me to get into his mind and dump out words, whether they be eloquent or ridiculous (most often ridiculous). I torment him far more than he deserves, and even though the gal he's pining for will never love him back, I certainly will. I also love my darlings Mac and Mara, since they're the protagonists of the first story I ever tried to write (not including the buttload of stories I wrote about turkeys when I was in 2nd grade, don't ask). I haven't used them nearly as much in the past few years, but I'm glad they've stayed with me for so long and I'm eager to finally get these revamped ideas down on paper someday. Similarly I also adore my darling whose first name I'm not allowed to say. He's been through a butt-ton of design, personality, and even name changes, but he's still the same baby I made back then and love now. Actually my friend and I finally decided on a new legal name for him (because he needs one to actually live in America properly and have a license and whatnot). He won't respond to it and was only assigned it when official documents had to be made about him, but I can finally refer to him as Luke for profiling purposes. I still won't call him that though. XD

I very much love four darlings I always seem to use in drawings and school projects from back when: Nicole, Darian, Calik, and Moni. Nicole is basically me in 7th grade that I inserted into my central storyline, Darian was my fictional boyfriend, Calik was the dude that rode this camel I always substituted in for horses because horses were/still are hard to draw, and Moni was from another story I tried to write in 3rd grade and brought in for my main story as well later. I also love my other persona of sorts, Demi, who I'm planning on making a profile for soon. I always seem to have two figurative personalities in my head (but not in a psychological issue sense, you know), my logical one that's mostly me and then Demi, the crazy one that thinks up all the insane crap and doesn't care who she offends or if it's PC or whatever. I love her because she's everything I wished I could be (and oddly enough I've become more like her as I've gotten older, oh dear). And also she's the one I doodle on all my school notes to this day, and she headed all my school projects. I can credit her with a ridiculous crash course on World War II.

I very much love my darlings Volkmar and Alec, and I've been working with them more actively as of late. I've had them since 6th grade, but I really kicked them into gear when I took a creative writing class in 12th grade. They were the main protagonists of the story I wrote throughout that year, and it really helped develop them more deeply than I think I'd ever done with a character before. Now I'm using them as the standard and trying to get everyone else up to speed. Even though I haven't finished that particular story yet, I'm currently working on another story that's being used as the plot for a Java based computer game I'm making for my honors thesis. Boy oh boy, hope I can get that done in time. XD With the previously mentioned story, I also love the other characters it spawned, such as Abel, Criss, and Kain.

Obviously I'd say I also like my empress, The Lady Anatola. It would be a little odd if I didn't love her. ^^; I especially adore the characters some friends of mine made for a collaborative story with her. None of them really work with their characters independently though, so I've been given technical ownership of their personas to make profiles and draw art and write and whatever dumping of love I want with them. XD But of course they get a say in whatever nonsense I want to throw them into. Love goes out to their darlings, Skyler, Detra, Jethro, and Manara. Still want to schedule some time to fill out more of their profiles with them. :3

Boy oh boy this is already lengthy... uh, SPEED ROUND. I love my shark family. I love my bad guy squad even though they are in severe need of new art/designs and more work on their profiles. I love my band of sexy anime bishies darling young men. This is the band Volkmar plays in, and they're currently my laptop background so I can stare at their gorgeous faces all the time, I mean *cough* appreciate the artistry. I love my kitties. I love my Rapidash and her cowboy. GAH I LOVE THEM ALL, I'M SO BAD AT THIS And there's a buttload of other of my favorites I can think of that also don't have profiles yet. I need to keep chugging away at this...

Q18. Which of your OCs is your favorite, or who are a few of your favorites? Why?

oh shit uh... Actually, I feel bad because this question isn't as hard as you'd think it would be. OOPS. Currently my favourite favourite (tied with one other character) is Iwato because he's the first character I've made like him?! He's a rokurokubi, meaning he's a yōkai whose neck stretches out so he can lick up lantern oil... he doesn't do that now though, wow, how rude would that be. I've never made a male character who talks in a womanly way HAHA and I love him. He's really funny and clever and likes looking after others, but he's also catty, a horrible gossip and a shameless eavesdropper.

(He could also knock you out just like that but that's a secret.)

My other is Anatoliy who I just... really love. He's a small guy, but he's surprisingly bulky, and then he's got an accent, loves to drink, would take anyone in a fight in a second and he's just really likeable to me. He's brash but he's honest, he's got a good head on his shoulders. Listen. Some of my characters are loopy doodles, you get to appreciate the ones with a lot of sense. Anatoliy's also the guy who wouldn't hesitate to keep going in order to prove someone wrong when he thinks that they're being dumb... BASICALLY I respect him?! As a character?! For my others I make fun of them b/c what's taking your characters seriously, but Anatoliy gets special treatment.

He also has like. No issues. He's a precious diamond of self-confidence and assurance in a sea of insecure characters. Also he's really really fluffy. He's a ptarmigan man who keeps his flock of ptarmigans in pockets lining the inside of his coat.

Some of my other faves definitely have to be Quain (he's a babe), Mero (he's hilarious and his enthusiasm is endearing), Funemaro (he's small and super serious gdi keep his shrine clean), Kabaki (HE'S UNHINGED I LOVE HIM) and Kumo (he's a gloomy butt who is so so insecure but also in a funny way)...

Q1. Who was the first OC you made a profile for on Toyhouse? Why them?
It was Amadeus because it is the only one who's profile is translated into English yet. 

Q2: How do your OCs feel about the internet? If it doesn't exist in their universe, how would they feel if it did? What kind of sites do/would they go on?
Most of my humans live in a realistic world then they all have internet. Eden and Kaoru likes to spend lots of time in it, and Arthur sometimes have fun on it as well. Amadeus and Alastyn doesn't own a computer. As for my trainers, I'm not sure what kind of Internet there is in the Pokemon universe but I usually consider there do have internet and websites, but they don't use it much. As for my tribal characters, they live in prehistory then of course they don't have internet and...well, considering they don't have technology, I'm not sure how they could discover it..... 

Q3. Which of your OCs sleeps the most? Who's the hardest to wake up, if it's not the same person?
Probably Alnitak is the one who sleeps the most. He's a feline and lives in a zoo, then he's bored all day along and has nothing to do anyway, then he just sleeps a lot. The hardest one to wake up would be Arthur when he is drunk. And he is often drunk.

Q4. Which of your OCs is the cleanest? Who takes the longest showers/baths, if it's not the same person?
Alnitak, because felines cleans themselves a lot. As for the tidyest, it would be Amadeus. His house is always perfectly clean and tidy. His body too. But he would not take long showers  as water costs. I'm not sure. Maybe Alnitak is the one who cleans himself for the longer. 

Q5. Which of your OCs has the biggest sweet tooth?
It means who likes sweet things the most, right ? It is probably Amadeus. He doesn't buy a lot of sweets (because he doesn't have much money) but loves candies, chocolate, cakes, etc.

Q6. Which of your OCs stays up the latest? Who gets the least sleep, if it's not the same person?
Arthur loves to party and can stay up all night along as long as the party continues. But he would sleep late on the morning to compensate. The one who gets the least sleep probably is Alastyn. He makes so much nightmares he doesn't want to sleep anymore, then would rather stay late and wake up as early as possible to avoid his nightmares.

Q7. Which of your OCs is the most forgetful?
Both Eden and Kaoru are really forgetful. They will always forget a task they have to do, something they have to buy, something that was planned or a birthday... They have a really bad memory, both for short-term and long-term.

Q8. Do any of your OCs have notable dreams, or at least any recurring themes that appear in their dreams?
As said above, Alastyn has many nightmares. Actually, it is always the same theme, but I won't talk about it now as it is really personal to him and I would not even include it in his bio. This is something I want people to discover within roleplay, because, of course, it is not only about nightmares. His nightmares are linked to some real thing.

Q9. Which of your OCs is the worst cook?
Arthur is a really bad cook. Everything he cooks tastes awful, and is usually burnt. Then, either he orders some things, either his boyfriend cooks for him.

Q10. Which of your OCs is the best cook?
Amadeus is a really good cook. He helped his mother a lot as a kid, and she was a really good cook herself, then he learned lots of things. Sadly, he does not have the money to buy good ingredients and will mostly cook rice and pastas.

Q11. Which of your OCs is the laziest?
Alnitak, because he's a fucking cat, and cats are fucking lazy. Eden is pretty lazy as well. Oh, actually, he's a cat too.

Q12. Which of your OCs is the shortest?
It would be myself (my fursona), because I'm a domestic cat, then, of course, I'm way smaller than humans.... Toward my human characters, the shortest is Amadeus, being 167cm tall.

Q13. Which of your OCs is the most exuberant spender?
Arthur is the only one who really has money to spend, but he is not that exuberant neither.... Actually, none of them is an exuberant spender. Maybe I should get a female OC to fix this :p 

Q14. How do your OCs feel about Christmas?
Alastyn used to really love Christmas. Used to. 
Amadeus is the only one who considers Christmas as a christian festivity rather than a food-gift night. He goes to the church for Christmas.
Arthur, Eden and Kaoru sees christmas like most of european does : a family festivity to eat a lot and offer gifts.
Christmas doesn't exist for my other characters. 

Q15. Which of your OCs is the stingiest with money?
None of them is really stingy, but Eden does not like to spend his money, he prefers to hoard it. Amadeus does not spend much neither, but this is because he does not have anything to spend and has debts already. 

Q16. Do you use the links feature between your own characters? If not, why not?
There is a link feature? I did not know! I will use it, then! 

Q17. At what rate do you tend to create OCs? How has this changed over time?
I don't create much OCs. I created several OCs when I was roleplaying a lot, but now that I don't know where to roleplay anymore (and don't have the time for it anyway), I do not create much OCs anymore. I'm not much interested into creating OCs just for the sake to hoard them. I want them to be really detailled (see Amadeus' profile as an example, and his profile is not even finished yet), then I would rather cherish and work on a few OCs than having a lot of them. Also, I want all of them to have a use and purpose.
I'm still creating characters everyday but I do not consider them OCs, are they are like "one-use characters". I use them on a roleplay, a daydreaming, a personal story or whatever, and then never use them anymore once the story is finished. My toyhouse does not show all of my OCs, are many of them will stay on a specific media (mostly all of my lion characters) while some others does not have art at all and will not be used for public roleplay, then will not be displayed in there even if I use them a lot (in my head, actually). 

Q18. Which of your OCs is your favorite, or who are a few of your favorites? Why?
Some of my favorite characters are of those which I don't consider as "OC" (see above). As for those I consider as OCs (those who have art), my favourite are Eden, Amadeus, Wes and Arthur. They were created on the same media, and this media just...changed my life. Really. Not only because I met several friends and my girlfriend on this media, but also because it was a really strong part of my life, where kind of everything revolved around this roleplay, and I know it changed my personality a lot. It is a great part of who I am today, it changed my tastes, my way of thinking and bring several new things to me... Of course, they are really developped as well (you can't see it on their profile yet because I have to translate everything into English, and it will be really long because English is not my natural language at all and it is rather difficult to me to write things in this language).

ALRIGHT FOLKS, we're back in action!! I'll answer the last question and maybe reply to some things later, but first...

Kameila has Pokemon, if that counts! Though I haven't decided which ones she has aside from her Wartortle. Barazia tends to consider the hapless wanderers he keeps as pets, but that probably counts even less. Seraye and her boyfriend have a nameless talking angelic chinchilla around (it makes sense in context), though they met him by paying him and he's more like the Doll Shop's mascot than a straight-up pet; still, that's probably the closest thing to a pet as any of my OCs here have. I think only a couple of OCs out of all of mine have pets, and the number of pets who have any sort of presence in the story is even lower.

Dicro is notable because he really, really loves cats. He loves cats, he loves every kind of cat. He just wants to hug all of them, but he can't... can't hug every cat. His dream is to own a bajillion cats and just cuddle with them forever, but unfortunately he instead is stuck in some Reality where he's forced into deadly games all the time so he doesn't have time to get any. ):

...Though lately I've been really into this AU where Dicro lives on plain old Earth and all of his friends are cats he adopted. I love cats almost as much as Dicro does honestly

Q19. Do any of your OCs have pets? If not, do they want any?

Adie is my main animal person, meaning she just loves them but they don't have a natural attraction to her. But she has a dog named Una that she is very happy about and she gives the dog endless affection and dotes on them. The rest of my characters tend to either not care about animals or downright dislike them.

Psy yi yi yi duck duck duck, psy yi yi? Psyduck, psyduck psyduck. Psyduck..... psy.... "psyduck". Psyduck. Psy yi yiyiyiyiyiyiyiyi duck duck duck duuuuuck. Psyduck, psyduck. Psyduck. Psyyyyyyduck.

Q19. Do any of your OCs have pets? If not, do they want any?
Of course! Some of my characters are Pokemon trainers !
Wes has lots of Pokemons, but his mains are :
- Umber the Umbreon. One of his first three Pokemons. A grumpy and grouchy boy but still loving and loveable, loyal, faithful and strong-minded.
- Amber the Espeon. One of his first  three Pokemons. Sweet, refined, slender, yet strong-willed and devoted. He's in love with Umber but we're not sure Umber shares his love....
The third one? He's dead. 
- Jude the Feraligatr. A naughty, grumpy teethy thing. Not always obedient, he shows no motivation to obey his trainer. Unless he is asked to force some people to speak... 
- Samael the Flygon. This one is the wise guy, probably even wiser than his trainer. He does not always obey, considering he knows things better than his human and will sometimes try to "educate" him.
- Sekhmet the Absol. The only female of the team. She seems to keep a deep traumatism and...she isn't really herself anymore. She can be blindly agressive and may even kill a human. However, she is really loyal and protective to her master. Maybe a bit too much, sometimes confusing friends with ennemies... 
- Iron the Metagross. Not much to say about it : it does not have a personality. It is just cold iron... a machine. A killing machine. 

Shiroka also has several Pokemons, all of them being fire-types (he's the leader of the Fire Gym of Heode region) :
- Kenshi the Arcanine was given to him as a newborn Growlithe. He is loyal, faithful, wise and protective, and a really skilled and strong-willed fighter. 
- Aaron the Houndoom was the first Pokemon Shiroka caught. He was a young Houndour but was already nasty, aggressive and territorial. Kenshi and Aaron would always hate each other, and Aaron always kept some ressentment for the human who stole him from his family. 
- Shin the Ninetales is the only female of the group. Shiroka once caught the young vulpix because of her strange colour : she was neon yellow. Her bright colour being an handicap for a hunter, her parents did not even react when Shiroka took her off. Later, she evolved into a beautiful white shiny Ninetales. She is sweet,gentle, affectionate and caring. Both Aaron and Kenshi felt in love with her, and this worsened their rivalry. 
- Geki the Charizard was given to Shiroka as a young Charmander as a gift for wining a tournament organised in Salcedo's Colosseum for young trainers. He is calm, even-tempered, but really combative.
- Keru the Blaziken was given to Shiroka by his father. He was then a young Torchic and Shiroka first refused him, considering him ugly and weak. But his father insisted, the trainer accepted to keep and train the disruptive and clumsy chick, ended up getting a strong Blaziken.

Maeda is still a beginner trainer and only has two low-level Pokemons :
- Hoko the Machop was given to him by a well-known scientific and Pokemon trainer of Heode region. The professor gave him the choice between Budew, Magnemite and Machop, and Maeda hated them all. He wanted neither a plant, a machine or a human-draft as a first companion. But the dust-coloured Machop chose him, and convinced him to take him to his trip around the world. Maeda finally agreed, he had no better choice anyway. Hoko is really strong-willed and not obedient at all. He barely obey to his trainer, and would rather command him himself. 
- Nuzu the Shinx is the first Pokemon caught my Maeda. He's a young and weak cub, a bit shy and fearful, but he is doing his best to improve his skill, hoping to become someday a strong Luxray

Beside my Pokemon trainers, there is Eden. Eden does not live in the Pokemon universe and was not meant to get a pet at first. But, while doing a crossover roleplay with a friend of mine playing a Pokemon trainer (Will from Johto's league), Eden was given a newly hatched Natu bird. Eden did not know what to do with her, and first considered eating them. But it would not be correct toward the man who gave her to him, then he just bought a cage and other accessories and kept her. And he  finally felt in love. A really strong love. Ellianne, the bird, is now the most important thing to him. They deeply love each other, and Eden would give his life for his bird. Of course, the bird does not live in her cage anymore, going freely in the house or even outside, flying around Eden when they go for a walk. Actually, Eden does not know his bird is a Pokemon, then does not know about her powers. He is convinced she is just a round parrot. 

Q18. Which of your OCs is your favorite, or who are a few of your favorites? Why?

It's probably a three-way tie between Ulti, Arith, and Julie. My reasoning? I believe characters are meant to be part of the owner. The creator of a character puts a piece of him/herself into the character. I make all of my characters with this in mind. This is especially so with these three. Ulti is my main character, the one I most connect with. It's difficult to explain how I feel the connection with this character. He was also the first character I ever created. I've been through a lot with him. As for Julie, she was actually my second character. She's definitely my gamer side, as well as the bit of feminine side I have in me. She's still quite the tomboy, but she still has some estrogen. She's the tech-savvy, game-playing, slightly feminine side of me. As for Arith, she's a mix and match of me. She's the metalhead, car-loving, militant side of me. Since a cancerous individual (that I've recent rid myself of) caused me to hate RPing Ulti, I made her and connected with her.

Minera has a pet Snugget that has a similar glow to her own. It stays on her ship and loves kiwis.

Jinx has kind of always wanted a pet, but can't decide on one. Koenn is my Pokemon trainer (not on TH yet), but I haven't though much about her team aside from a Torchic and Pidgey. Other than that, not many of my OCs have pets or want one. Probably because most of them are in my still-developing world where I haven't created much animals yet, and my other world is mostly animals. xD

I'll try to keep this brief so it's not another novel. XD Alotana has a falcon named Simon and engineered a mechanical hound companion, which he calls Monday. Anatola has a giant squid called Rhadamanthys, a giant flamingo named Skiffle, a giant hippo named Shilca, and a man eating plant (more like a forest with how much it's grown) called Raydel. Anneliese has a python, although I haven't determined a name yet. If it ever tries to squeeze too hard, it doesn't matter because she's a ghost so she can just go fully ghosty mode and plop it on the floor.

Clay doesn't personally have any pets, but all the police dogs in Dectective Jones's squad seem to love him. Good thing he's not a criminal or they probably wouldn't want to catch him, unless they got to cuddle afterwards. Calik and his mother have a camel named Camel (so creative, right?) and a cat named Tabby. They talk to Calik, so he used to be under the impression that all animals talked until he moved to America and realized other animals couldn't. Now he thinks only Egyptian animals talk. Don't break the illusion for him, please. Celestae has a falcon, Criss has his kitty named Ham, and Darian has two reptilian like creatues (that are more like guardians really) named Ryclithe and Myverie. Derek and Alec used to have a golden retriever when they were younger before it was killed, but they eventually get another puppy once their family is a bit less financially strained.

Edward has always wanted a cat, Volkmar has always wanted a snake and eventually gets one from his father, and Elizabeth has her... parrot that breathes fire. His name is Draak. Jethro has a frog named Greg, Kevin has a doberman named Daisy, Marcie has a medium-sized squad of mice (it used to be a small squad...), and Mariena has a fat poofy white rich person type cat named Pearl (although she tends to called her Floofy-Poofy-kins more often). Reagan used to have a cat named Toffee, but after an accident he doesn't want another pet anymore. His sister says he accidentally blew him up with a spell gone wrong, and now he's mortified and doesn't want any animals anywhere near where he practices magic. He acts like he hates animals, but he really does love cats... he just doesn't want them anywhere near him anymore out of guilt.

Mysty tends to attract wild birds to flock above her, and most animals in general respond to her positively. There's a weird rabbit that likes to follow Mark around while he's practicing soccer, and no matter how he tries to chase it off it never leaves. Even when he accidentally hits it with the ball, because it likes to get in his way, it won't clear out. Sean has a lot of pets back at home, but his favorite is his giraffe. Yes, giraffe. It's name is Butterstick. Don't ask why. Shrike breeds falcons, but his closest friend and partner is his falcon named Roc. Tippy has some strange mutated reptile thing she apparently stole rescued from somewhere. She calls him Blarg.

Red has his team of Pokemon: Kit the Ninetails, Tybalt the Skarmory, Rosaline the Wigglytuff, Balthazar the Trapinch, Benvolio the Lantern, and Mercutio the Gardevoir. KEEPING IT BRIEF DIDN'T WORK AUGH

The answer to this is SORT OF... Because a lot of characters of mine are their own specific species. As members of that species (basically animal people lol with lore shit and other details) they have groups of their respective animals that stay with them... Anatoliy has ptarmigans, Crow has, well, crows, Magpie has (prepare for the shock) magpies, Quain has red-tailed hawks... Yager has one panda who's always with him. There was another who was that panda and (technically) his 'mother', but she died so it's just them boy pandas now.

My character Mau would love... not a pet, but an animal companion. But animals tend to be repelled from him HAHA except his father's wolves b/c he's a half-breed and he smells unnatural to other animals. Alas. Other than that, so many of my characters are animals or monsters themselves that I don't think they really want a pet and that it'd feel weird for them...

Demese I guess has his snakes, but they're (again) more companions and almost like familiars than just pets. OH but Benedetto would like a million dogs pls. Bonaventure tries to hide it, but he'd like a dog or a cat too...

Q20. Which of your OCs is the best at driving? Who's the worst? If cars don't exist in any of your universes or none of your species are capable of driving, who would be the best/worst if they did/could?

Without a doubt the worst driver is Bonnie. The running gag throughout Asthenopia is that Bonnie keeps getting into accidents with plot-important people because he keeps texting while driving. Don't try that at home!! Even when he's actually paying attention to the road he tends to speed, cut people off, and basically anger drivers everywhere.

Despite not having any formal education, the best driver would probably be Thyx. The in-joke amongst my friends is that everyone in the Hell College Carpool (tm) adamantly refuses to let him drive because he's a joke character and therefore his driving skills must be hilariously horrendous, but the truth is that he could learn pretty fast and would be the safest driver out of any of them. Dicro remains the official carpool driver regardless, and fortunately for everyone he happens to be pretty decent at it despite also lacking any formal education.

You'd think a bunch of immortal beings would take Driver's Ed at some point...
