Promptober

Audun carefully made her way through the woods, going in the direction of something she had seen poking over the trees in the distance while standing on a hill. If her intuition was right, this could be a great chance to expand her research. She finally came to a clearing, seeing up close what she had merely glimpsed before. A tower. A human’s tower. She smiled proudly at her find, taking in the disheveled appearance of the abandoned relic. She made her way to the front door and carefully tried the knob. Unlocked! How lucky! She slowly went inside, cautiously taking in her surroundings as she ascended the staircase. It opened up to a room, full of human items. Just what she was hoping for! A great chance to study.

She walked around the room, examining the paintings, and chairs, all the larger items the room held first. There was no bed, showing that this tower wasn’t a home, more likely, a lookout of sorts perhaps. Making her way over to a rack out of curiosity, she notices an abundance of strange items held up by it. Long wooden tools, with these strange diamond shaped ends that appeared to have gathered dust. Her mind churned to try and decipher what these items were, her hand absentmindedly drifting forward in reach for one of the tools, but before her fingers could even touch the item a dark aura forced her to recoil. Suddenly, like the flick of a switch she knew what she was looking at and had realized what kind of humans had once occupied this tower. Fear made her body shudder. Her hands instinctively went up to cover her mouth as a gasp escaped, as if scared something might be there to hear, though this place had long been abandoned. She stared at the rack in terror. A weapons rack. Full of human weapons…
