Promptober

Audun had enjoyed her first visit to the new shop she had gotten to visit recently, so it was no surprise that it didn’t take long for her to go back once more. She was recognized and greeted by the kind shop owners who offered to show her more intriguing items and explain their uses. She gratefully accepted their help and each one showed her a different item. The one that caught her eyes the most, was a black mirror, and the way the shopkeeper had described being able to use it in scrying sessions.

Once home with her new prize, Audun hung the mirror up so she could look at herself in it more easily. She waited until it was nice and dim outside so her candles would do the most work once lit. She stood in front of the black mirror and did her best to clear her mind. Though that had been such a difficult task as of late, her thoughts seemed to easily melt away now. She watched her reflection, and was surprised when soon, she saw a glow that she knew wasn’t there before. She carefully reached up and touched the mirror as she examined the glow, knowing it wasn’t coming from any of her usually glowing areas. This glow was right over her heart. Confusion lightly swept over her as she tried to understand what this could mean. It was only then that she realized this reflective glow wasn’t even the same color as the rest of her own glow, it was the color of someone else’s.
