Promptober

Audun looked around what appeared to be her home, but everything looked, off. Strange, but in a way she couldn’t really describe. It took her a long while to finally snap her fingers as she saw what was odd. Everything was upside down, but she was still right side up. Somehow this didn’t startle her, it was more of a nuisance as she wondered how everything got this way. She finally understood though, “I must be dreaming right now.” She very rarely had lucid dreams, and this felt oddly real.

“That you are,” A voice suddenly says from the dark behind her. She swivels around to face the shadowed figure, indigo eyes piercing through the pitch blackness. A long tail lashed to and fro, and she could have sworn she saw the glint of horns. She shuddered at the presence of this thing, which even though this was only a dream, it still felt like it had managed to sneak its way into her home without her notice. “Who are you?” She asked softly. “A demon of sloth… You attempted to summon me from that ritual in the grimoire you found.” It answered casually. Audun’s shock was tinged with confusion. “I did that over a week ago…” The demon rolled his eyes from the dark corner, “What part of ‘demon of sloth’, did you not get just now?” Audun then pursed her lips in slight annoyance, “Well next time, I’ll try summoning a demon that isn’t so rude.” After some silence the demon just crossed his arms in a smug gesture, “Now, say that again, but slowly.”
