Promptober

As the night progressed with her newfound friend, Audun began to feel more comfortable here. Now and then when she’d glance around, she’d realize more and more that the usually formal gathering was losing that uptight vibe. People were having a good time, laughing, joking, meeting people, and just simply having fun. This had become less of a ‘Monster Ball’ and now seemed to have just become an abnormally large Halloween Party! She could think of nothing better than this. Her new friend had talked to her about all sorts of things she liked and had actually gotten Audun to talk about the things she enjoyed, like human artifacts.

It had become a bit of a ramble as they made their way over to a refreshment table and got a couple drinks, but when Audun finally caught herself and went to stop she had noticed her company had lifted her mask for her drink, and right underneath was a big smile on her face. She enjoyed listening to Audun’s rambles. This caused her to blush softly from a mix of embarrassment and relief. At least she didn’t feel annoying now. She took to lifting her own mask so she could drink her own drink, encouraging her friend to talk about herself once more. What she heard next surprised her, “Sure, we can talk all you want. But how about we do that somewhere other than here?”
