#4. Witching Hour

Audun, like many Dex, is out at night a lot. Though her reasons are quite different than most other’s this fact still remained the same. However, unlike many Dex would claim, she had never seen a ghost. There was no shortage of ghost sighting stories among Dex. Audun had no reason not to believe, but she had actually never seen anything truly paranormal before, so to be honest, she hadn’t given it much thought. However, tonight was different. As it approached the witching hour, she would be a witness to something very peculiar tonight. She passed the nearby lake, only to be surprised by a soft weeping sound. She looked over towards the sound, and her eyes widened.

At the lake’s edge was a slim, glowing figure. She almost thought it was a Dex, but she noticed some key differences that caused her to believe otherwise. She believed; she was looking at the ghost of a human. Their weeping voice was somewhat distorted, wispy hair seemed to flow in the wind, and the slender frame was lacking any key features to identify what it might have been in life. This specter didn’t even have legs, it was a strange, fused together whip, leading off its hips. It hovered there in front of the water, appearing to be looking down and weeping. Audun couldn’t help but feel saddened by the sight, but her sorrow only greatened when she realized it wasn’t just looking down. It was staring at its own reflection in the lake water. Just as Audun thought maybe she should get closer or say something, it vanished right before her eyes.
