Promptober

The storm that Audun had once been so intrigued by was now something she wished hadn’t come so close to her home. It had managed to take out her power, leaving her in the dark. Which of course, wasn’t a big deal to most Dex. They glow enough to light their own way usually. Audun was no different, she could also glow. But paired with the darkness of the storm keeping out any moonlight, one of her favorite activities had been made much more difficult. Writing in her journal. It was hard to light her book enough with her glow to write, since it had to sit down on her desk and most of her glow was centralized to her head.

Deciding she did indeed want to write to pass the time despite the raging storm, she decided to light a candle. The warm glow of the candle contrasted her own. She held her hand above the flame to shield it as she made her way to her study, feeling the warmth slowly heat her hand, making her realize how cool the rainy weather had made the inside of her house. She steps over to her desk and sets the candle down, letting the dim glow light her workspace. She opened her journal and thought for a moment before proceeding to write down her thoughts. As the night went on, she hardly even realized the rain had stopped, as the candle continued to burn, leaving a slightly sweet aroma in the air.
