Promptober

Audun walked slowly down the path, mind off in other worlds theorizing. A crack of a branch caused her to pause in her steps looking around, though all she could see was thick black woods. Shaking her head she reminded herself there are plenty of animals in the woods around here and there was no use getting spooked.

She sped up her pace just to help her own mental state but found herself freezing again as she heard a much louder crunch nearby. Once again she looked around peering into the dark woods, and this time she saw it. Large glowing eyes stared back at her. Audun could feel her heart in her throat, clutching at her chest she tried to steady her breath. She’d felt this before but never so strongly. She felt wholly like prey.
