Dragonbloods are, simply put, humans who can take the form of dragons. In more complex terms they are humans whose ancestors gained the blood of true dragons and, over generations to come, it grew stronger and they gained the ability to shift into a hybrid form - wings, horns - and later on down the line into full dragon forms as well as a hybrid form.
In modern day dragonbloods, it is almost an even split between human and dragon, though in some it has been noted the dragon genes are overpowering the human ones. It seems to be that as the generations pass, the draconian nature grows stronger.
When in human form, it is almost impossible to tell them apart from any normal human. The only real ways to tell are if their pupils narrow like a cats - in the past, this was a sure fire way, but dragonbloods now have learned to control it to a degree - or via a blood test.
When in hybrid form, they almost always have wings, horns and a faint pattern of scales. They can also understand most draconian speech and can speak some of it. Humans are unable to hear the highest and lowest frequencies for the full meaning, whereas a hybrid form dragonblood has some of the capabilities necessary due them being halfway shifted to dragon form.
When in dragon form, they cannot speak the human language very well at all. Perhaps one or two words, but not enough to form a sentence. The vocal cords simply do not comply.
The hair colour of the individual will always be what the colour of the scales are. This can be changed through bleaching and dying, but there will always be a hue of the natural colour. However, there is a rare condition where the hair colour does not dictate scale colour. It is not known why this happens.
