Soulbinding is the act of binding a soul or souls to an object. This can be done through a few ways, some of which are below:

Self-soulbinding

Self-soulbinding can be a rare event. It involves the soul leaving the Duat of either it's own accord or being kicked out, and during the slim window where it has no body it can bind itself to an object. For many, the timeframe is too short for them to do this, or they simply don't know they can or know how to do it.

Exmples of self-soulbinding can be found in the ancient civilisation of Forseglet. The community sought an eternal life, and discovered that during death. Many of the people who died from there were rejected from the Afterworld, but in this, they found it was possible for them to bind their soul to an object insead of a body.

To do this, they would force themselves into an object at the crucial time they became real in the foreworld again. Over years the population of the civilisation dwindled, until all who were left were the objects.

This is a very dangerous practice. You do, after all, have to die to have the chance of pulling it off.
