Carnelian was born as a defective soldier in Earth's Beta kindergarten. Her combat skills were never the greatest, giving her a tough time fighting the rebels. What she lacks in strength, however, went into Spot's heart. It didn't take her long to invade a small friend group of jaspers, also born from the same kindergarten. Carnelian became the very core of their squad, cheering up those in a bad mood. Despite some of her friends inevitably joining the rebels, Carnelian didn't thirst for vengeance nor desire to follow their footsteps. Even seeing her loved ones dying didn't deprive Spot of her contagious optimism.

During the final evacuation day, she and her squad fleet from the battlefield and force themselves to the galaxy warp. Knowing they might get punished for a treason at Homeworld, they aimed straight ahead to the nearest underground opening, planning to join others once they're certain no punishment was in sight. While the teleporter side effects caught up to them, nevertheless, their rash decision saved Zebra, Spot, Noree and Bumblebee from getting captured.

Melon

I misjudged Melon for who they are at first, but who didn't? I'm glad they used their secret strength to help us. Not to mention they can be pretty fun to chat with.

Citri

She's kinda like Zebra, except more serious. She would make a great agate

Zebra

Zebra is remarkable! She always knows what to do or how to protect us. Before Melon, she commanded our squad, including on Earth. Shame she lost her weapon. Luckily, by being by her side, I can borrow her mine! Hehe, I'm not good with it anyway...

Noree

If you need someone to sit down and relax with, Noree is your buddy! If you're looking for an enthusiastic fighter, Noree should be your pick as well. She's the most quartzy quartz I know.

Bumblebee

We used to have a tough time understanding each other, but we're on good terms now! Bumblebee isn't much of a speaker nor has a strong body language. Her way of showing care is to destroy what you hate or quietly be by your side in the times of sorrow. She even lets me and Noree bury our heads in her soft hair if needed.

Uvarovite

She's intimidating, I can't fully explain why. Zebra keeps reminding me such off-colors as we should be honored by working for her. Hehhhh, still... Uvarovite's freezing planet makes me miss Earth's sunny canyons...

Ocean

Aweee~ she's so tough yet loves cuddles! If Melon ever finds a way to help corrupt gems just a little, I'll personally welcome her to the realm of semi-corrupts with an hour-lasting hug.

Opinions & details

The diamonds: "I miss my diamond. She must have been nice. Still- *Salute* I'm at the others' service."

Crystal gems: "Ironic isn't it? Soldiers from my kindergarten were created for the sole purpose of fighting the rebels. But because many of us had emerged defective, my former comrades gained more reasons to join the enemy."

The war: "On one hand, I wish the war never happened. On the other hand, would I even exist without it...?"

Earth: "My dear Earth~ It was so warm and lively! I miss it every day. The humans were kinda weird tho. Soooo squishy and vulnerable."

Cross-gem fusions: "Oh, I have a silly story! Noree and I were once stuck under heavy bolders on Earth. Since none of us could lift them, I casually asked if fusing together could resolve the issue. Of course, Noree had none of my idiocy. So, before the rescue came, she'd spent 4 hours explaining why we, despite being quartzes, cannot fuse. Hehhh, I still feel embarrassed of myself."

Corruption: "Corruption issss, eeeeee-... I don't know. It's difficult to describe, especially the subconscious aspect of it. I, for example, lost most of the knowledge on using my weapon. I can still summon it, don't get me wrong, buuut the rest is kinda gone."

Quartzes: "Funny enough, I barely knew any carnelian on Earth. Hanging out with jaspers has always been so natural. That said, I adore socializing with anyone!"

Fear: "With the amount of Earth friends who became Crystal Gems, I fear being betrayed by others. I know it's irrational with how loved I am by my jasper squad. Sadly, t-that's what, along with Melon's depictions of elbaites, makes the paranoia worse! I can't imagine what I would do if they turned against me. They all mean a world to me!"

Limb enhancers: "I don't wear limb enhancers too often. Our majesty doesn't require them nor do I enjoy having prosthetics attached to me. Defective or not, I rather stay the way I am."
