I have quite a few of them I don’t know which pair to start first...
- Aleksandr and Vladimir are definitely mortal enemies by their professions - a military officer vs a mafia specialized in illegal arms dealing (and of course, those ‘arms’ are stolen from the army). To add more fuel to the fire, Aleksandr grew up with a circle of KGBs as his father tried to groom him for successor so he was close to some of his father’s subordinates. One such the man back stabbed the state and defected to work for a mafia group... and yes, that group is the one Vladimir is leading. So not only Aleksandr wanted to hound his former childhood mentor back to receive punishment, he also has to fend off Vladimir from getting his hands on the warfare androids the mafia boss has been eyeing.
- Dmitry Donskoy vs Arkhangelsk and Severstal - are the... trio of android siblings with strange rivalry that became far more explosive than it should have been. It could have been a three-way rivalry but luckily Severstal is never aggressive toward Arkhangelsk so they often team up against their eldest brother. Dmitry and Arkhangelsk are basically trying to destroy each other each time they fight, so Severstal often either helps Arkhangelsk in this attempt to overpower their eldest or helps him escape when it seems Dmitry was too strong. The reason that started all this mess is kept secret at moment but all I can tell you is, it’s basically a misunderstood gone horribly wrong. And Dmitry merely keeps the ‘facade’ up because he’s too prideful to accept his fault while the two youngest know nothing about what even started the mass brawl in their supposed family. When they came into the scene, the internal war was already in full swing.
- Shaposhnikov vs Tributs - yet another pair for android siblings rivalry, over a totally absurd issue (different lineages). Shaposhnikov refuses to recognize Tributs as an older brother and always raises aggressive behavior every time Tributs tries to claim his right as an older brother. For a short time they can somewhat coexist in peace, until their two younger siblings show up and Shaposhnikov will turn on his ‘possessive older brother’ mode, forbidding the two younger from treating Tributs as a brother. But the younger pair ignore such a demand, so it only fuels even more angry reactions from Shaposhnikov.
- My city personification pair Branimir and Nemanja disagree over too many issues to count for the last century. They used to be very tight but some of their personality is too similar so power struggle was inevitable, especially since both of them used to be capital at different periods. Clashing idea in military strategies and even political views push them apart and Nemanja is definitely not pleased with how Branimir leads the country, believing he can do a better job. They’re kind of frenemies, with more enemies than friends in most part nowadays.
- Lastly, Yaroslav and Mstislav - they were once foes in history when Mstislav won against his older(?) brother in a battle. After that they divided the land and became co-rulers until Mstislav’s death, then Yaroslav seized everything into his hands. When they both come back to human realm a thousand years later, Mstislav is mostly hostile toward Yaroslav for what the older had done after his own death regarding his city and his youngest brother. The main clashing subject between them is how Yaroslav is highly patricidal, always dreams of erasing their father from history. Meanwhile, Mstislav isn’t particularly well-loved by their father but still he views their father more favorable and intends to protect their father’s honor. In their current life, the hostility is most from Mstislav’s side while Yaroslav rarely starts a fight between them.
