Digimon: Dark Worlds

“Ugh...Where am I?”

A kid was laying down in the dirt, in the middle of nowhere. He sat up and looked around, seeing nothing but trees and dirt. He had no idea where he was.

“HEY!!”

The boy quickly turned around, hearing a voice, and saw who it was...

“Wha- What the hell?!” He quickly scooted away, confused and shocked by the strange creature he was seeing.

“Oh boy, it’s you Axel! I’m so glad to finally meet you!!” The strange creature said ecstatically.

“Wha- How do you know my name?! Did you kidnap me or something?”

“What? No, silly, I’m your friend, I wouldn’t do that! Besides, you actually fell out of the sky.” Axel got up, rubbing his head. “Ugh, that explains this headache...” He looked up, thinking to himself how that could even happen. He then looked back down, looking at his surroundings again. Something then suddenly clicked in his head.

“Wait a minute... I suddenly just remembered something. Before I got knocked out, I remember some strange electric light from my computer zapping me, and then I passed out.” He looked down at ExTyrannomon. “Am I in some weird video game world or something?!” ExTyrannomon looks confused by this question, but quickly perks up. “No, buddy, you’re in the Digital World! And I’m your partner, ExTyrannomon, it’s so nice to finally meet you!” ExTyrannomon sticks his paw out to Axel, who has a bewildered look on his face. “Digital World, the hell?” He mutters under his breath. 

ExTyrannomon slowly puts his paw down when he realizes Axel was rejecting him. “Oh, I guess you’re not big on handshakes then...” ExTyrannomon looks down for a few seconds, then suddenly perks up. “Oh, I totally forgot!” Axel cocks his head at ExTyrannomon when he starts digging into his back, pulling out a strange device, and hands it to him.

“This is for you! It’s your Digivice, and it’s proof of our friendship!” Axel grabs the Digivice from him and stares at the blank screen. A sudden bright light shoots out of it, and Axel looks away from the brightness, covering it with his arm. “Ow, jesus, does this thing have a brightness setting?!” He quickly chucks it into the dirt. “This is a waste of time, I need to find my way home...” Axel quietly muttered under his breath, walking away.

“Hey, wait, where are you going!?” ExTyrannomon calls out. ExTyrannomon picks up the Digivice, and somehow puts it away somewhere in his back. “I guess I’ll just hold onto this then...” He quietly says, then follows after Axel. “Axel, wait, where are you going? Let me come with!” Axel stops, looking back at ExTyrannomon. “No, why are you still following me? I’m not your friend, just leave me alone already!” Axel turns around and continues walking from ExTyrannomon, who’s surprised by his outburst. ‘Oh, Axel, we’re supposed to be friends...’ ExTyrannomon thinks to himself. ‘...I’ll make him understand soon. Me and him are meant to be together!’ 

ExTyrannomon quickly starts to run after Axel, catching up to him. “So, buddy... you said you were looking for...home?” ExTyrannomon asks. Axel continues walking. “Yeah, so? Do you know where my home is? You know, in the human world?” ExTyrannomon thinks for a minute. “Well, no, but...”

“Then I don’t need your help.” Axel says sternly, slightly picking up his pace. “W-Wait!” ExTyrannomon shouts, quickly running in front of Axel. “I can ask other Digimon for help! Come on, let’s go find others!” Axel suddenly stops in place. ‘Digimon? Why does that sound...familiar?’ He thinks to himself. Axel looks back up at ExTyrannomon, who has already run fast in front of him. “Hey, w- wait up!” He shouts, running after the little Digimon. “What exactly is a Digi...”

Axel froze in place. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Him and ExTyrannomon were at a field filled with tons of different kinds of monsters. Big monsters, small monsters, monsters flying in the sky...All different kinds of unique monsters.

“Are these all...Digimon?” Axel said, still astounded. “Yup!” ExTyrannomon said ecstatically. “Welcome to the Digital World!”

Axel pointed to one of the large creatures.

“That one looks like you, but bigger...” Axel said. “Yeah, but he’s not as cool as me!” ExTyrannomon boasts. “He’s only a Champion, and I’m an ultimate...”

“Can we go talk to him?” Axel asks, looking at the Tyrannomon. “Yeah, of course! Hey, TYRANNOMON!! OVER HERE!!” The large dinosaur Digimon turns around, walking towards them. “WHAT?!” The Tyrannomon roars at them. “Oh, it’s you, ExTyrannomon, what do you want?” Tyrannomon looks down at Axel. “Who’s your friend?” He asks.

“Oh, this is my new best friend, Axel! He fell here from the human World!” ExTyrannomon says ecstatically. Tyrannomon bends down slightly, looking at Axel. “A human, huh? I’ve heard of humans, but I’ve never seen them before...”

“Uh, yeah...” Axel says shyly, nervously rubbing his arm. “Um, so, Tyrannomon... Do you, uh, know anything about the human world? Or how to, uh, get back to there?” The Tyrannomon cocks it’s head for a minute, thinking.

“Nah, kid, I don’t think so.” Tyrannomon looks behind him for a moment, thinking again. “I’m sure that Leomon guy knows, though. You can ask him?”

“GrapLeomon?” ExTyrannomon asks. ExTyrannomon pulls out the Digivice, and a picture of a Digimon appears on screen.

“Yeah, that’s the guy. He usually hangs out in that big mountain area, Skye Mountains? If he’s not there, im sure you can ask the other Digimon that live there where he is. He’s very smart, im sure he’ll know how to get to your world, kid.” Tyrannomon states.

“Skye Mountains?! Ughhh, but that’s so far!” ExTyrannomon whines.

“That’s ok, thanks a lot Tyrannomon.” Axel says. “Yeah, no problem kid.” Tyrannomon looks up at the sky, which appeared to be getting darker. “I think it’s time to sleep soon, you guys should do the same. Goodnight!” Tyrannomon says, while starting to walk away. ExTyrannomon quickly waves goodbye to him. “We will, thanks Tyrannomon! Ooh! I know where we can sleep, follow me Axel!” ExTyrannomon quickly runs in another direction. “Hey, wait up!” Axel shouts, running after him. ‘Jeez, he’s fast for such a little guy...’

After some time, ExTyrannomon finally stops in a small area. “Here it is! This is where I live!” He says ecstatically, pointing at the small clearing in the middle of the woods. There wasn’t much there other then a small bed made out of leaves, a campfire pit, and a tiny hut made out of leaves and dirt.

“You can sleep over here!” ExTyrannomon says, leading Axel to the leaf bed, where he sits down. “Oh, I bet you’re hungry! Here, let me get you something!” ExTyrannomon quickly runs inside the hut, rummaging around. After a quick minute, he gets out, holding two bowls, one with water, and another with some strange looking fruits, and hands them to Axel. “Here you go, enjoy!” Axel grabs both the bowls. “Oh, thanks...” he says quietly, taking a sip of the water. Axel looks around, taking in his surroundings. “So...this is where you live? Why do you live all the way out here by...yourself?”

ExTyrannomon sulks down a little. “Oh, I don’t know, I guess I just live by myself cause other Digimon sometimes find me...annoying. You don’t think I’m annoying too, do you Axel?” Axel looks down for a minute. “Well, to be honest, I kind’ve did at first, but...” Axel looks back up at ExTyrannomon, who was now sitting across from him. “You’ve been too nice to me, and I can’t be mad at that. No ones ever been...This nice to me before.” ExTyrannomon perks back up. “Awww, thank you so much Axel! That’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me...” 

‘Jeez, that’s kinda sad, I hope that isn’t true...’ Axel thinks to himself.

“Oh and don’t worry, Axel. I’ll get you back to your world, I promise!”

“...Hey, ExTyrannomon?”

“...Yeah?”

Axel smiles warmly at the little Digimon. “Thank you.”
