Physical Appearance

• Shoulder-length black hair

Clothing Style

When on demon hunting missions with his flight, Rath tends to wear mostly black outfits with leather armor, light enough to fly in but durable enough for melee combat. He'll typically wear outfits that fully cover his arms and legs, both for combat and for casual situations. His combat outfit is relatively simple with very few adornments, the most being a few red/reddish-brown accents. He'll usually wear a chest piece along with shoulder armor, gauntlets, and armor around his hips and for his legs. He usually wears durable/armored boots, both designed for combat and for riding dragons, and he'll have appropriate cases/holsters for his sword and guns.

His casual outfits when off-duty tend to be just as simple, although he usually goes toward earthy/neutral colors rather than all black. His outfits are frequently mildly tattered around the joints or ends of sleeves/pant legs since he frequently goes out with Estellia into the wilds to have some peace in nature. Sometimes these outfits will also have some simple red accents as well, and he usually wears similar riding boots even in casual situations, although they won't be armored and only just durable for outdoor work/travel. Rath doesn't accessorize much, and he doesn't make much attachment to material possessions, so he doesn't have any trinkets of sentimental value either. The most he has are his earrings, which are usually studs or small hoops and typically black or silver.

Personality

Rath is a quiet and somewhat anti-social young man who comes off as very serious and detached from others. He is very observant and sensing, although he tends to focus more on his environment and only people of potential threat rather than friendly interactions. He's not terribly interested in bonding with others, and even the people that work closely with him in his dragon flight barely know what his voice even sounds like. He will refuse to speak to others unless he feels very compelled to do so, which is rare considering he doesn't even speak to most of his superiors. He tends to be aloof and closed off toward others, but he's not particularly cold or rude toward others who approach him. He'll occasionally give others silent attention, but in most cases he'll mostly ignore advances and remove himself from the situation if it becomes too uncomfortable.

He works efficiently and follows order mostly because he doesn't have any other motivations or obligations. He doesn't tend to set goals for himself and is mostly going with the flow of the people around him. He's not very invested in the hunt for demons like the rest of his flight, but he doesn't approach his work reluctantly either. He does, however, have a rather strong sense of justice, and in rare cases when he encounters something that goes against that sense, he'll stand against even his own allies. The few people he has uncompromising loyalty to are Estellia, Heath, and the general of his flight. Although he's not particularly personal or open toward others, it's obvious he's rather down to earth and isn't distracted by petty motivations or shallow goals. The strongest fault in his personality though is that he is neutral on many topics, meaning he can go along with rather questionable actions due to the others around him if he doesn't have a strong enough reason to oppose it.

Rath is most open with Estellia, whom he holds with the utmost respect and admiration. As a child he considered her somewhat of an older sister/mother figure since she looked after him, and in recent years he's felt more of an attraction to her. He tends to keep this to himself since he knows she's much older than him and doesn't see him the same way, she viewing him still as a younger brother/son figure. He's not bothered by this though and commits himself entirely to her regardless, and although he still requires some prodding for him to open up, he's more willing to be personal and intimate with her.

• Level headed, hard to surprise/throw off, and seemingly fearless

Weaknesses

• A bit too serious, has issues expressing himself, and doesn't emotionally attach to others much
• His presence makes feral dragons restless/aggressive for some reason
• Slow to trust, aloof, and anti-social to the point where he refuses to talk to anyone he doesn't trust
• Sensitive to the energies of ancient Drayconen creatures/relics and can be easily manipulated/overcome by such energies

Backstory

Rath's earliest memory is of him as a young child awakening in the barren wilds of Drayconess, the earth stained with blood in a mile radius around him. He couldn't remember how he got there or where all the blood came from, and he sat alone in the apparent aftermath of a war zone for a day and night, uncertain of what to do. Scavenging drakes began circling him in the afternoon heat, but an Epsilon dragon, Estellia, came across him and stayed at his side to deter the other dragons from him. The two remained there until a traveling flight of demon hunters passed by and took Rath back to Ecquinox where he was raised and trained as a demon hunter.

Rath excelled in his training and graduated as a full fledged hunter at the top of his class, but he was unable to join a flight since throughout his training he could not find a dragon that would bond with him. He was forced to train privately with General Aedhart and his dragon since his mount was the only one disciplined enough to get over whatever presence Rath had that caused other dragons to react hostilely toward him. It was not until the third week of being a hunter that Estellia returned to Ecquinox for a visit and decided to remain with Rath after hearing his plight. The pair joined the general's personal flight soon after.

Throughout his life in Ecquinox, Rath refused to speak to any of his fellow hunters or his mentors, his voice seldom heard by any of his squad. He only seems to speak with Estellia, General Aedhart (whom he views as a father, and he a son in return), and the dragon stable keeper, Heath Arnyx. Despite this, he is respected among the hunters for his exceptional combat skills. Rath currently carries on his life as a demon hunter with no passion for his trade. His lack of hate for the demon race, however, soon creates unforeseen consequences during a planned attack on the demonic royal family of Elavia.
