Belau has heard his prayers. They are so soft, so gentle.
Belau is the god Chaurus worships, though he just knows him as "the Abyssal God." Chaurus has committed himself to his faith, being sure to pray on the regular and send Belau good vibes, because a god with such a dark domain probably needs 'em, y'know?
A real tough one... Chaurus seems like a good guy, but he also just goes out and chomps people sometimes! That's illegal! But he also tries to protect people sometimes, so Justine's not quite sure how to feel about him. Pick a side already!
Justine's a good person, and while he can't agree with her on every front he thinks she's got a good thing going with this whole Justice Club deal. He can't help but believe in her, like some sort of Lureus that's really obsessed with some imperfect but admirable ideals.
Ignis is hiring these people on purpose, isn't he?
Dicro seems like a guy with a good head on his shoulders. But... who exactly is he? He seems to be one of Ignis' maids, but also something more than that? Maids don't usually take so much interest in Infernals and Ignis doesn't seem to be holding him back from learning anything, and in fact Ignis has made it clear that Dicro's happiness is a priority. But the guy's a total enigma. Nice, great to hang out with, but seriously, what's the deal?
Chaurus was one of the first people to show Tomomi kindness after she became what she is now... and for that she'll be forever grateful. And if people can look up to someone as scary-looking as him, who knows? Maybe there's still hope for her.
Another student he wishes he could be of more help to. Still, he's gotten her set up a bit, so hopefully his peers can take it from here! He'll be keeping an eye on her. He can't help but be reminded of Poe...
Chaurus seems like a solid guy. Could let up on the scolding, but he's worked with worse.
Hal's a good guy, but when he and Lureus are together... well, he's just glad that any mission like that is the type where Ignis doesn't want anyone under control in the first place.
Her savior... one of precious few defenses against Lureus...
He cannot apologize enough.
Chaurus not only welcomed her into Hell College, but he also taught her the ropes of doing the same for others! She's essentially his successor, and always appreciates any time she gets to spend with him. There's not an unlikable thing about the guy!
Pira's basically Chaurus' protege. She's taken over the Hell College Welcoming Committee, and she's doing a fine job of it! Future students are in good hands.
Chaurus is such a nice guy! He helps out with Hell College's welcoming committee, so she's familiar with him. Not that much, of course, but she can already tell he's a great guy!
Chaurus can't help but be nervous for Dioclea. She's a mortal and seems super naive and innocent... no way Hell College is gonna have mercy on her! He can't hover over her like he could in the old days, but he'll do his best to ensure her safety when he can.
Chaurus is decent, as far as Infernals go, but Ganymede can't help but be annoyed that Ignis got his hands on someone so tolerable. It's just the fact of the matter.
Ganymede has valuable things to say, but the guy really needs to learn how to relax. Not everything Ignis does is to annoy Ganymede specifically! Doesn't he have anything more important to be doing than trying to meddle in the boss' affairs?
A notorious goody-two-shoes, there's not much dirt to be dug up on Chaurus. It's a shame, because he sure does get in the way of some points of interest. Ah, but that's never stopped him! If anything, Chaurus' attempts at obstruction are just entertaining.
Nothing but trouble. Chaurus gets investigative journalism and all, but Crucifera just likes digging up dirt for the hell of it, not to mention all of the blatant lies he spreads! He always tries to keep Crucifera away from Poe and Lureus, but there's only so much he can do...
Chaurus keeps Lureus out of their hair and always offers up snacks, so he's pretty high on Istra's approval list.
Istra doesn't play too nicely with Lureus, which is an issue because Lureus sure does want to play with them! That aside, though, he can't help but wonder what Istra's deal is. They ate most of the school and then Ignis took them in... and just kinda lets them do whatever? He's not questioning the guy or anything, but Istra sure is a weird presence in his life.
Chaurus was always a favorite student of Jing's, a shining example of demons never being all bad even despite their fearsome appearances and worrisome habits. He was a shining star and always helped out his fellow students when they were struggling... Jing can't help but see a little of himself in Chaurus and is happy he still has some presence around campus.
Jing was always Chaurus' favorite professor - don't tell Ignis! But they just see eye to eye on so many things, and it's fascinating having the perspective of an angel at Hell College. He considered seeing if he could get a role as Jing's TA, but he was always so busy with the Student Body President thing and his training... but even now that he's graduated he's always willing to lend a hand if he needs it!
Lureus loves Chaurus! It's always entertaining when Chaurus tries to hold Lureus back from things, and he always likes seeing what Chaurus is truly capable of on the battlefield. Not to mention that with Chaurus' healing aid Lureus is pretty much unstoppable. They make a good team! And though Chaurus might not admit it, he's pretty good at the whole petting thing.
Their side of the triangle isn't quite as strong and they're mostly just here for Poe, but it's not like Chaurus doesn't like Lureus or anything. He's just a lot to handle. A LOT to handle. But, y'know, for some reason he can't help but like that about him. It's fun to have to reign someone in sometimes, and Lureus' boundless energy helps Chaurus remember to have a little fun now and then. It helps that Poe's had great success in mellowing out Lureus as well, so it makes Chaurus think there's not too shabby a fellow underneath all that blood and frenzy.
Poe can't really express his gratitude toward Chaurus enough. If it wasn't for him, Poe isn't sure where he'd be. It already took so much energy just to enroll as a student, but to put himself out there and truly succeed, not to mention make friends and learn to trust again in such a chaotic place... were it not for Chaurus' kindness, there's no way Poe would be as happy as he is now.
(also... he is hot.)
Chaurus can't help but be in love with Poe. On top of being kind-hearted and intelligent, he's thoroughly capable and always pushes himself to be better even when Chaurus already thinks he's perfect. The fact that he's cute and charming is really just a bonus! He's happy that Poe's become so well-adjusted in spite of his origins, and he's even happier that he got to be part of that growth and stability.
Dicro is familiar with most of the Infernals, and Lureus is no exception. In fact, Lureus is one of the most prominent in Dicro's mind. He's hot, he's a catboy, he can turn into an actual cat, he's full of bloodlust and drama-free... he meets all of his standards!!
It's terrible, because he could go for it and it would be just the best, but Ignis would never let him hear the end of it.
Dicro is just the best! He reminds Lureus a lot of Poe! He's not quite the same for some reason, but it's hard to resist a guy who loves cats and dying! If only they were around each other more... when's Dicro going to become an Infernal? Isn't he already buddy-buddy with Ignis already? They could have so much fun together!
Axe buddies indeed. If only his deaths meant anything.
Tons of fun to fight with! Axe buddies!
Jacqueline doesn't really mind all the times he picks up her fallen body parts in his mouth and runs off. She can just get new ones or sew it back on later, no big deal.
(gently gnaws on arm)
Hal wasn't sure how to feel about Lureus at first. He's got the look of some boring self-superior dickwad who doesn't know how to have fun, after all... but it turns out, he's the opposite! Uniting the worlds of cats and dogs forevermore, the two get along just fine.
Every once in a while, Ignis sends Lureus and Hal out together. And when he does... the results are truly glorious.
For Lureus and Hal, anyway. Not so much for the blood splatters on the ground.
Bad!! Bad cat!! Horrible cat!! Stop murdering everyone!! Murder is WRONG!!
Justine's always getting in his way, always yelling and shouting when he starts gnawing on someone or offs a freshman or whatever. But that's the whole point of Hell College, isn't it?!
Lureus sure has a ton of energy! She can't help but approve, although he's not actually the best sparring partner around. He's a little... vicious. Not too much respect for the sport, y'know? Too excited for his own good.
Likes to go to her shop and lick up all of the ice cream that gets on the floor. Free snacks!
Also, being frozen to death is pretty interesting!
Ohhhhhh kitty!! Pet pet pet!!
Probably completely unaware that Lureus is An Actual Person, because much like how she coincidentally never sees Ignis do anything evil she coincidentally never sees him in anything other than cat form.
Yes... more pet pet... more treats...
Ignis better tighten that leash, because Lureus is hilariously easy to get confidential information out of. Seems Ignis learned to stop letting Lureus know anything important pretty quick, at least, but Ignis isn't the only person on campus Lureus knows...
Multiple hands means........ multiple pets!!!!!! He'd hang out with Crucifera more if he cared more about gossip, but he doesn't.
STOP CHEWING ON THE BOOKS THEY ARE OLDER AND MORE VALUABLE THAN EVERY ATOM THAT COMPRISES YOUR MISERABLE FORM
What else is a library for if not for chewing on and/or sleeping on the books?
Lureus is... difficult for him to manage. There's quite a bit of violent energy to reel in, even for a Hell College student. Still, in some ways he's easier than others, and as time went on he became easier to teach. Seems Poe was a good influence on him...
Jing's a good teacher and all that, but Lureus still has trouble grasping the merits of Not killing people you fight. If they just respawn later, what's the big deal? Not like you're risking losing a playmate!
