Pokémon Ultra: Spark yellow

Well, I’m finally here now… At the Pokémon League. Despite arriving here days ago, I actually haven’t attempted to fight the Elite Four yet, since I’ve continued training the past week or so… I know my team is pretty strong, but I wanted to continue training to make sure I’m REALLY ready… And now… I know my team is ultra powerful, but… There’s still one last thing I wanna do before I take on the league…

I know throughout my journey, I’ve conquered so many different challenges, fought so many different Pokémon. I feel like I’ve conquered so many aspects of Kanto, except for one… The legendary birds. Ok, hear me out. I know we helped free the birds from Team Rocket, and now they’re back to their homes safe and sound, but… I can’t stop thinking about how they’re doing. After everything that’s happened to them, do they struggle trusting humans now? I wanted to go out and find them, see for myself, and if they let me… I wanna challenge all three of them. And, if it’s also possible… To capture them. Once I challenge them, not only will I have truly taken on everything there is in the Kanto region, but I’ll also give the birds a chance to trust humans again, and a safe space to make sure other bad humans like Team Rocket won’t ever hurt them again. Once I defeat all the birds… Then I’ll really be ready for the Pokémon League. But on the other hand, I’m only gonna do this if the birds even accept my challenge in the first place. The last thing I wanna do right now is make them uncomfortable…

Today I’m gonna go out and look for the birds… As of now, I know that Moltres lives in Victory Road, so I started looking around inside the area again, trying to look for it. I was searching for so long, that I felt like I was about to give up, but…

“Pika! Pika pi!” Pikachu pointed up towards the ceilings, where I could see Moltres quickly fly past us.

“Whoa- Moltres, wait up!” I quickly chased after Moltres. Moltres disappeared behind some rocks while I was chasing it, leading me into the same secluded area I was in last time I was here.

“MOLTRES!! PLEASE COME OUT!! I NEED TO TALK TO YOU, PLEASE!!” I yelled as loud as I possibly could. Then, quickly out of nowhere, Moltres flew into view from behind some rocks. Moltres slowly flew down to the ground, landing right in front of me.

“Moltres, hey! Thank you so much for stopping for me… I’m not sure if you remember me, but my names Sam, and I just wanted to ask you something. Moltres… Please let me challenge and capture you! I know you must be hurt after what Team Rocket did to you, and you probably don’t trust humans, but… If you give me a chance, I’ll show you that not all humans are bad. I really wanna prove it to you… When I capture you, I’ll be able to protect you, train you, even if it’s something you don’t need, since I know how strong you are. But most importantly, I’ll make sure that bad guys like Team Rocket member hurt you again. So please… Accept my challenge.”

Moltres was silent for a moment, looking like it was thinking, as it curiously stared down at me… Then, Moltres suddenly let out a loud screech, opening up its wings wide. Moltres then looked down at Pikachu, letting out a soft squeak.

“Pika!” Pikachu looked back at me, nodding, which basically told me Moltres’ answer.

“Yes, this is amazing! Thank you, Moltres. Hmm, now who should I use…”

“Pika pika!” Pikachu excitedly jumped up and down.

“Hm? You wanna fight Moltres, Pikachu?” I asked, Pikachu nodding.

“Alright, good… Then let’s do this!”

BATTLE… BEGIN!!

Sam: “Alright Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!”

Pikachu attacked, but Moltres quickly dodged it. Moltres then used Agility, rapidly flying around in the air.

Sam: “Try to focus on Moltres, then use Thunderbolt again!”

Pikachu took his time to focus, this time landing the attack. Moltres then used Fire Spin, doing a decent amount of damage to Pikachu, flames swirling all around him.

Sam: “Hang in there, Pikachu! Use Slam!”

Moltres didn’t try to dodge the attack this time, taking a decent amount of damage. Then, it used Agility again, flying around in the air even faster.

Sam: “Quick, use Thunder!”

Before Pikachu could attack, Moltres used a Flamethrower attack on him, doing a ton of damage and knocking him pretty far back. I really don’t think Pikachu could live one more attack, and Moltres was flying around in the air like crazy, so fast I don’t even know how Pikachu could hit it. Man, what do I do… Hmm…

Sam: “Pikachu, jump on top of the rocks and hop onto Moltres’ back!” 

Pikachu gracefully jumped from rock to rock, getting higher and higher from the ground, until he was at Moltres’ level. Pikachu waited for the right moment, waiting until Moltres flew by him… Where he jumped, landing perfectly on Moltres’ back.

Sam: “Hang on tight, Pikachu! Use Thunder!!”

Pikachu blasted out an incredibly powerful Thunder right on Moltres, doing a ton of damage. Moltres weakly floated down to the ground, sturggling to stand up straight…

Sam: “Alright, let’s do this…HYAH!!”

I chucked an ultra ball at Moltres, who went inside…

Whoa… 

…DID I SERIOUSLY JUST DO THAT?! I JUST CAUGHT A LEGENDARY?! 

I felt stunned, so shocked at what just happened. Pikachu picked up Moltres’ Poke ball, walking up to me with a smile on his face.

“Pikachu… Oh my gosh, you did AMAZING!!” I picked up Pikachu, giving him a tight hug as he happily squealed, hugging me back. “You’re awesome Pikachu, you really have grown so strong, buddy…”

I put Moltres’ Poke ball into my back. Hmm, now where do I go next…?

Sometime later…

After heading back to the Pokémon center and healing up Pikachu, I quickly remembered the location that Zapdos lives in… the Power plant. I still remember that time a while back where I heard those Rocket grunts talking about Zapdos living there. So I flew over to the Power plant, promptly making my way inside. The power plant must have been abandoned a while ago, cause besides having a few wild electric type Pokémon hanging out there, the place was completely empty. All the machinery in there was completely rusted and broken down as well, looking like it hadn’t been used in years. Honestly the place creeped me out a bit, but hey, as long as I’m able to challenge Zapdos, I’ll be happy. While I was walking through the area, I found a few abandoned items that looked pretty useful, picking them up. When I approached one of the items…

A Pokémon, an Electrode, suddenly popped up. The Electrode’s body started to glow, about to use Self Destruct…

“NO!! PLEASE DON’T!!“ With quick thinking, I chuckled a Poke ball at it before it could explode, going inside…

…Click!

“Whew! Man, that was close…” I let out a sigh of relief, picking up Electrode’s Poke ball. Man, what was that Electrode’s problem anyway…?

“Screeeeee….” Suddenly I heard a Pokémon’s cry from farther away in the building. The cry was pretty quiet, but I was still able to recognize it… It was from Zapdos. Oh man, I gotta make sure it doesn’t get away! 

I quickly ran out of the room, running through the halls towards the source of the cry… Quickly, I ran into a giant room… Where Zapdos was. Zapdos quickly noticed me, flying and landing next to me as it stared down curiously.

“Whoa! Hey, Zapdos… Hey, Pikachu, can you tell it about my challenge?” I asked. Pikachu nodding, proceeding to communicate with Zapdos, who roared and opened up its wings, also ready to battle.

BATTLE… BEGIN!!

Sam: “Alright… Let’s go, Charizard! You’ve got this! Use Flamethrower!!”

I know Charizard is weak to electric types, but I still wanted to use him for this battle. Charizard’s pretty strong, so I’m sure he’s got this… Charizard’s attack did a pretty good amount of damage, charring a bit of the machinery in the room as well. Zapdos then used Thunder Wave, paralyzing Charizard.

Sam: “Alright, now use Fire Blast!”

Charizard was about to attack… But quickly froze up from the paralysis. Zapdos then used Drill Peck, dealing a pretty decent amount of damage.

Sam: “Dangit. Alright… Charizard, hang it there! Use Slash!”

Charizard didn’t freeze up this time, but Zapdos used Detect, blocking the attack. Before I could even command Charizard again, Zapdos once again used Drill Peck. Oh man, Charizard was getting pretty weak now…

Sam: “Stay strong Charizard, I know you’ve got this! Use Fire Blast!!”

Charizard blasted out an incredibly strong attack, landing a critical hit on Zapdos. Zapdos crashed to the ground, struggling to stand up…

Sam: “Alright, nows my chance… HYAH!!”

I chucked an ultra ball at Zapdos, who went inside…

“YEAH!! That was so awesome, Charizard! Great job!” Me and Pikachu ran up to Charizard, giving him a hug as I picked up Zapdos’ Poke ball. Man, I’m really on a roll here! This is so awesome…

…Now there’s just Articuno left.

Sometime later…

It was getting pretty late out now, as the sky was now darkened, but I was still determined to challenge Articuno today as well. I flew over to Seafoam Islands, going inside and looking around the place. I felt like I was getting pretty far down in the area, looking around for a while, but I still saw no sign of Articuno.

“Man, this is annoying… Where the heck could it be…?”

Crrkkk… Suddenly I heard a soft cracking noise, the ground cracking beneath Pikachu’s feet… CRACK!!

“PIKAAA!!” The ground right underneath Pikachu completely collapsed, as he fell down into the next level. “PIKACHU!! NO!!” Without hesitating, I jumped into the hole after him…

SPLASH!! But what I wasn’t expecting was to land in a rushing current of ice cold water. “AGHH!!” I tried swimming against the current, but it was way too strong, about to push me away…

…But I suddenly felt something grab me by the shoulders, lifting me up out of the water, and back onto land. I coughed up a bit of water, looking up at who saved me… It was Articuno.

“Pika!” Pikachu was only riding on top of its back, hopping off as he leaped into my arms. “Pikachu! Thank goodness you’re alright…” I hugged Pikachu, looking up at Articuno, who was staring down at us curiously.

“Hey, Pikachu, can you tell Articuno about our challenge as well?” 

“Pika.” Pikachu nodded, proceeding to communicate with Articuno as well. Similarly to the other birds, Articuno screeched and opened up its wings… ready to fight.

BATTLE… BEGIN!!
Sam: “Alright… Let’s go Blastoise! Use Surf!”

Blastoise landed the attack, doing a decent amount of damage. Articuno then used Agility, flying around the room like crazy.

Sam: “Don’t let Articuno’s speed freak you out, Blastoise… Keep your focus and use Ice Beam!”

The second Blastoise fired his attack, Articuno also fired back with an Ice Beam, both attacks hitting each other at the same time, both doing a lot of damage. Before I could even command Blastoise again, Articuno then used Mist, filling the area with a soft mist that made it a bit more difficult to see.

Sam: “Alright Blastoise, use Surf!“

Throughout all the mist, Blastoise was still able to land an attack on Articuno… Articuno then used Ice Beam again, and now I could tell Blastoise was starting to get weak…

Sam: “Hang in there, Blastoise! Use Blizzard! Full power!!”

Blastoise’s attack did a ton of damage, knocking Articuno to the ground as it struggled to stand…

Sam: “Alright, Articuno… You’re mine! HYAH!!”

I threw the ultra ball at Articuno, who went inside…

Woah… Did I seriously… JUST CATCH ALL THE LEGENDARY BIRDS?! OH MY ARCEUS!!

“YEAH!! YOU DID AMAZING, BLASTOISE!! WOO!!” Me and Pikachu ran up to Blastoise, giving him a hug as I picked up Articuno’s Poke ball.

I can’t believe we were able to do this… Me and my team have really grown so strong… And you know what this means?

…I’m finally ready to face the Pokémon League.
