A roar, within the Wikimak pride, is mostly used for the usual purposes. If a lion feels intimidated or threatened, they will tend to roar, amidst the bristled fur and showing of their fangs, although roars aren't often loud and not very often used.

Lions will roar in a moaning like manner when in mourning. When a pride member dies or is suffering, most lions will come over and quietly roar over them, much like humans would when visiting a suffering or dying family member. 

And, of course, they will roar in times of victory and even times before them. The pride of Wikimak will roar before going to war, and they will all roar together, as one. And if victory comes, they will do the same thing again, coming together in the middle of their territory and all giving a loud roar in victory.

Roars are also used to give thanks to Wicasa, although are not to be used very often. If one is to roar to Wicasa, they must separate themselves from the pride and do it in secret, for it may be seen or interpreted differently by other members, which could disrupt various members.
