Valley of Kings Prompt Storage

Cubs aren't exactly given any cub-sitters within the Pride of Wikimak. Instead, the pride converts their mothers, and in very rare cases fathers, into the cubsitters when the time comes for the cubs to be born.

It is, mostly, like this. The mother and father can continue on going through their duties of their corresponding ranks until the mother finds it more and more difficult to continue on with her duties. It is then that she looses her current rank and given the rank cha'risa, which is for mothers and is made for mothers so they can be with their cubs. For the remaining time of her gestation, she is allowed to find a spot within the birthing den/tree and fluff it up as much as she so desires. When it is time for her to give birth, she does so there. There may be other cha'risa within the den, most of which may be other expecting mothers or older lionesses that found a calling to help the younger lionesses with their own young ones.

The mother will remain a cha'risa until the cubs grow up and prove they are able to take care of themselves. After which, she returns to her normal rank and continues on with her duties.
