While there many not be many poisonous plants out within the redwood forests that hurt to touch, there are plenty of berries one must look out for. Baneberry, blue bead lily berries, and Hooker's fairy bell berries are some of the berries that, while they look appetizing and inviting, are deadly poisonous and extremely toxic. Lions are to take precaution when foraging for berries, if they even want to eat them, as well as instruct cubs on the berries that should not be eaten. 

There are other various plants that should not be eaten as well. Because the forest is so damp, it's a perfect place for mushrooms to grow, and a lot of mushroom species are quite deadly. The most notable is Fly Agaric, which are large mushrooms with bright colored caps, sometimes with little white nubs growing on them as well. While they do look very pretty and inviting, these mushrooms, when eaten, can give lions stomach aches. If too many are eaten, there is a chance that the lion could die.
