Valdsam can see Silas's misgivings about fighting, even if there's a layer of quips disguising it. He's dealt with plenty of nervous newbies in the past, but this one certainly isn't going to make training easy. A little respect would be nice.
Valdsam is a welcome voice of reason in the ever increasing party they've formed. Silas does his best to respect him when he can - but Valdsam will forever regret Silas knowing that his nickname is Whiskers. Finds his 'gruff exterior, soft interior' personality fairly cute.
Silas finds a lot of comfort talking to Lyrica. He finds her whimsical side of her fun (even if she teases him at times), and appreciates her ability to reign that in when it's time to get serious. They enjoy their shared adventures of 'causing mischief' and 'sneaking around' despite their mixed results, and would gladly place his trust in her anytime.
Silas is open and reasonable--he's easy to read, and that makes him easy for Lyrica to be around, as she doesn't have to put much thought into their interactions. Fun to tease. Trustworthy.
Once in a while, they manage to combine their forces of snark against a common enemy, as it were, but for the most part, Arabella finds Silas to be a much easier target than he tries to demonstrate. She finds his feelings on friendship and togetherness to be twee at best, and would much prefer he left her out of it.
Silas has QUITE the number of thoughts about Arabella. She's frustrating and difficult. They either butt heads or mutually laugh at someone else's problems. But despite all the complaining she does on this journey, she's still here, somehow, and provides input when needed.
So when he learns the basics of her situation, he decides not to pry. Though he doesn't have the full picture, it's enough to recognize that he doesn't have the words to help her - that he doesn't have any idea what she's gone through due to their vastly different upbringings. If she ever decides to speak more, he's open ears, but the greatest kindness he knows he can do now is to pretend it was never brought up to begin with.
For better or worse, Ivory interacts with Ono the same way they do with anyone trying to put a wall between themself and the people around them -- by being overly present and (quite possibly) unaware that the wall even exists until they've made a dent in it.
After recognizing the fact however (re: holiday session), they've quietly vowed to make sure that, should it somehow be indirectly caused by the chasms, they'll do whatever they can to amend it.
On a final note, Ono is the first person, perhaps by chance, to be aware of Ivory's connection to a certain masked person, as well as be a first hand witness to their *actual* powers -- fixing his mask with only a few words and placing their hands on the object in question.
Ono is unsure of how he feels about Ivory. He knows the other cares about him, but he can't possibly figure out why. Every so often he tries to push Ivory away, but something breaks and he ends up getting help.
But what connection do this man and the masked "no eyes" man have?
Pandora isn't easily shaken, but to be quite honest Pollux somehow manages it. Not that she dislikes them, quite the opposite, but the light mage's tendency to see through any small talk and cut straight to the heart of issues isn't something Pandora is quite used to yet. Of course, Pollux is still quite supportive of her and as such she'll do her best to live up to their expectations!... though she doesn't quite care for Pollux's constantly poking for information about her brother.
Pollux sees Pandora as hardworking, and perhaps a bit misunderstood, by both some of the members here, and the family Pandora has at home. They see a lot of potential in Pandora, encouraging the healer that going to the island was the right choice -- and that if her family thinks otherwise, they'll come around to it eventually.
Of everyone in the crew, Pollux has the easiest time finding Pandora due to the blood and grime that comes with being a medic. (Though, Carvus makes for a pretty solid contender, tying for that position some days more than others.)
At first, Carvus is mysterious to Pollux. An overconfident fighter who can take on combat despite being hurt, yet unfamiliar with concepts such as cooking? They decide to understand them more, vowing to find the time to speak with them.
And when they do...they realize that Carvus has been through a lot and, ultimately, lonely and misunderstood. The both of them are able to confide in their troubles, and eventually, when Carvus goes missing, Pollux puts her own life at stake to make sure he's ok. To make sure he's aware that, even with his shortcomings, her, and the rest of the island, will make sure he's not off on his own anymore.
Carvus doesn't have much of an opinion on Pollux, having fought with them once before. They appreciate the power that Pollux has shown with their light magic, and shows some curiosity in it, but otherwise sees them as another odd person.
As of recently, Carvus has attempted to take on the use of Light magic thanks to Pollux, much to his own frustration. However, the two gained more trust and they gave each other a vow of protection. Carvus trusts Pollux more than most on the island, feeling somewhat of a kinship from them as the two struggle with somewhat similar troubles.
He's kinda quiet and I hate the smell of smoke he gives off ALL THE TIME, but he's chill. Makes good coffee, makes good pastries and he entertains me! What more could you ask for from a barista, honestly!!
(Ono refers to him as Mirry usually.)
He's....not that bad. Mirry, huh? (Mirin doesn't say much, and while it appears that he'd be the sort to be annoyed with Ono, he only ever complains when he orders more pastries than what's in stock. Will listen to whatever he wants to talk about.)
Ponzu sees Ono initially as a brat, a pain in the ass, and absolutely someone he doesn't want to babysiit -- oh, and, he's not a grandpa, darnit! However, as they traverse the Labyrinths, he grows to worry about his safety and, after Ono goes missing, decides that if anyone's going to keep an eye on the kid, it's him. Ono and him have a shared interest in Gacha games, for better or for worse -- and end up going to cafes and other small hang out spots during the game's in-game events.
He's absolutely a grandpa, and kind of a buzzkill with his whole attitude, but I GUESS he's okay. He's not a top gacha player like I am, but he can stay on my raiding team.
Nahe’s patience with others, despite being frequently misunderstood due to being a “demon”, is admirable. Aislind feels bad for not having trusted Nahe at the outset of their journey, and having believed the propaganda Driscoll spread. They are grateful (and honestly shocked) that Nahe considers them as good a friend as they do, and they vow to work together with Nahe to end the misinformation that is so widely believed about Nahe’s kind.
Aislind also respects Nahe greatly as a peer, and encourages them to be independent; after all, Nahe is quite smart and talented in many regards. They also take comfort in knowing that Nahe will likely be around for Aislind’s whole life—that when all else passes, they will still have each other.
Aislind's insistence for Nahe to do something for themself baffled Nahe at first. Wasn't there anything they could do for Aislind that wan't this? And, even if they did do this for Aislind, what would they do? They didn't need anything, only the satisfaction that came from helping others.
As they traveled, however, it became clear that there was one thing Nahe wanted more than anything -- to continue travelling on their own to learn about the new world. In addition, their change from viewing Aislind as someone they should work for, to that of a friend, allowed them to realize that the things they wanted to do was not out of obligation anymore -- but they wanted to do for someone that they cared about. Thanks to Aislind, Nahe was not only spurred to follow their dreams, but also, came to admire Aislind for their ambitions and kind heart. Before going their own ways, Nahe promised Aislind one thing -- that, long into the future, they would meet at the first village they met at to travel together again.
Jane at first sees Alex as another person to fool, much like she does with Engou. But as she realizes that she work together with him -- that they can do murders and get away with it -- she puts a degree of trust with Alex when playing DRcade with him.
However, by the end, when she's forced to always lie...not only does she recognize that Alex can see through her words, but that in truth, she wanted to speak her mind. Post game, she wonders just what sort of person Alex was irl, and considers him her one true friend.
Much like their avatar version, Morgan enjoys Annie's company, glad that they have found a place to call home in her and Ele.
Much like her avatar, Annie views Morgan as trustworthy, and is happy that Ele has been able to open up to them.
Because of Morgan's true nature, they felt a little apprehensive and awkward on their first meeting with Ele, but after spending time together, Morgan thinks of her fondly, happy to have found a place to belong next to her and Annie.
Mysterious and with an air of prestige, Ele is undoubtedly shy around them. However, she quickly warms up to them, especially once she's able to discuss DRcade with them, and appreciates their company.
Millia cares a lot about Kioku, at first innocently (IC at least, leading to the blackmail event), but she feels a genuine bond with her after many sessions together and fun schemes in DRcade.
Kioku cares about Millia dearly, even willing to allow her participation in her schemes. Has blackmailed her once, though ooc was done to draw interest for a scheme and was mutually enjoyable.
She has not had a lot of chances to get to know Annie better, but regardless, Millia enjoys being around her, happily engaging with both her and Kioku in DRcade activities when possible.
Though a bit gaurded at first, Annie appreciates Millia's company, and trusts her enough to work alongside Kioku during said person's schemes.
Ponzu's initial thought about Sunny was incredible concern. Why the hell was someone so terrified of the chasms heading there? Concern turns into disbelief when he sees Sunny's strong potential as a persona user -- but after they felled the boss of that mission, Ponzu curiously wondered where she'd go from there.
The next he hears of Sunny is through rumors. Betraying the party? Working with Lety? And a desire to find despair, to top it off...this was nothing like the meek girl he meet awhile back. His worries outweigh his anger, as he collects more information.
After the fall of Lety, Ponzu finally meets Sunny once more, and learns that she has been raising slimes -- the labeled enemy of humanity -- with the idealized goal of bringing Lety back. Ponzu's quick to realize, however, that when Sunny pits these young slimes against everyone...Sunny doesn't actually want this battle to happen.
For the sake of the slimes, the other crew members, and Sunny herself, Ponzu pulls Sunny away from her dangerous ideals and grounds her -- makes her aware she has something she cares for, something that she shouldn't sacrifice. And when Sunny recognizes that, Ponzu is grateful.
After all of these events, Ponzu's viewpoint of Sunny is overall positive. Despite the things that she's done, he sees the good in what she's doing in the now. With hope, he believes, maybe she can encourage everyone that not all the slimes are bad -- she's convinced Ponzu, at the least.
In the game, Kioku is Annie's support when speaking up, and ends up being the mastermind behind a lot of the 'murders' that they plan. Outside, however, she relies on Annie to do a lot of the talking for her. Loves her dearly in both instances.
Annie acts pretty much the same in and out of the game, caring for Kioku however she can. She doesn't know how the game works sometimes, so Kioku has to help her out. Shows she cares though small actions and gestures.
Ivory's initial curiosity about anything related to the case is what brings him to Ishiki in the first place. However, very quickly, Ivory's goal to prod information out of him turns into an innocent desire to get to know them more. Eventually, this results in Ishiki becoming Ivory's voice of reason -- but at the same time, Ivory becomes Ishiki's encouragement to break out of his very, very tight comfort zone, for better or worse.
While the hairties that Ishiki crafts for Ivory prove to be an invaluable asset in battle, Ivory can also see the immeasurable amount of time and care Ishiki puts into making them. Thus, despite Ishiki's outwardly prickly personality, Ivory can tell they care about him very much, and attempts to minimize some of the reckless shenanigans that he gets himself into in hopes that Ishiki doesn't get too concerned.
Ugh. Ishiki hates that he likes them. Why are they like.... this.
Ishiki has chosen to trust Ivory—a feat in and of itself—and he finds himself slipping into a sense of familiarity with him at times. Ivory might really be his only friend. He worries that if something were to happen to them, he would have nothing left.
Sorrel would do anything to protect Pollux -- to the point that it took a long time to agree to let her travel without him around to keep an eye on her. Gave Pollux the staff that they wield today, which is imbued with light magic to protect her.
Though not her birth father, Pollux sees him in a positive light and talks about him often. Pollux is grateful that he allowed her to travel, and hopes to tell as many tales as he's told her when she returns.
Jasper never knew that his father had another child, and, even today, he's not aware of the fact. However, one day, Jasper starts receiving letters from an anonymous person -- guarded, yet appreciative of the company, he writes back, and the two of them start a chain of letters that lead in all sorts of directions.
Marcel was relatively unaware about Jasper's existence up until he meets Tea and the gang. And even then, when he does...it's long after Jasper's been put to jail for his crimes.
After learning the truth about the father they share -- that Samuel's desire to 'fix' Marcel had only been a selfish desire to turn Marcel into a 'true' dragon -- he's anxious, but determined, to meet Jasper proper someday, and talk about their past.
Until then, while he recovers, he'll start by sending letters, unsigned.
Aislind is at first suspicious of Sully, thinking him a demon (and, well, he kind of is, at the point they meet him). Then, they aren't sure what to think, after finding out he's just in a sort of... mutually-beneficial parasitic relationship with one. After all, they were created to eliminate demons, under the impression that demons were dangers to humans...
...and eventually, they are convinced to stick around him--if nothing else, he's still a person, and its still their job to protect those like him, right? And maybe they end up sticking around for longer than they expected, and maybe they end up developing an attachment of sorts...
Though at first wary about Aislind's nature as a Seraph and what that means for someone like him, Sully eventually reveals to Aislind that he's been supporting them from the sidelines since they've first met. He feels indebted to them for getting him out from the strange 'other world' where he met and bonded with his persona, Marbas, ultimately deciding that, if it'll keep him safe, he's willing to work with Aislind to figure out what he's become.
That said, as they spend more and more time together, Sully finds themself wishing to understand Aislind more and more, and begin to spend time with them solely to interact with them. And as he does, perhaps he finds other feelings with them blooming, and perhaps he'll decide to approach them on those matters...
Putting up an act, a false pretense, to hide insecurities... these two are more alike than they think. Aislind was drawn in by his air of mystery, only to realize he was much softer-hearted than he pretended. They feel deeply indebted to him for having returned their shapeshifting ability, and would gladly go to the ends of the earth to pay it back. In their attempts to pay him back, they found themself becoming quite... attached. Sully’s soft heart, growing resolve, and overall uniqueness are quite attractive.
Sullivan's initial relationship with Aislind is guarded -- as with everyone -- but when he learns of Aislind's secret and, in return, confides that he has a curse of his own to bear, the two make a silent vow to not only keep their secrets hidden but, if possible, lift their curses.
Their common ground brings them together in more ways than one; in pursuit of helping the other, Sullivan learns that he and Aislind's shared desire to explore and discover is far more fulfilling together than alone. And just like him, Aislind's by no means perfect -- a bit clumsy, unbelievably dense, and yet....undoubtedly more compassionate and sincere than their aloof persona leads on. They're the first person in a long, long time that treats Sullivan on equal ground, and it makes such a strong impact that the then prince falls head over heels for the dragon (and in hindsight, Sully finds it rather cute how long it takes Aislind not only to realize that, but to realize that the feelings were reciprocated).
Máirandr deeply treasures her memories of her time with her father. She views Sully as who she should aspire to be—a hero, who can overcome anything set in their path. While she knows him personally, as his child, her view of him (especially post-mortem) is colored by the grand stories she has been told of him.
Sullivan spent the short time he could be with Máirandr assuring that she was treated well; the last thing he wanted was to make the same mistakes that his father made with him. He often worried that he was a bit overbearing, and perhaps, maybe he was -- but at the end of the day, he treasured every moment he could have with her, and hopes that she did too.
Despite Dyna's quips about Sascha calling him servant, he genuinely wants to assist her in the thieving heists that she wishes to perform. He cares about her safety enough not only to put himself into danger, but to put himself under contract with a 'wishmaker' to undo her death through traveling back in time to prevent it. After failing to protect her countless times, his trust in Sascha had become strained -- but when he finally puts his trust in her again, she's able to break him from the endless loop in time and, in a way, save him.
Now, the two travel to other worlds in their off time, and, for better or worse, get into all sorts of mischief.
It’s hard to tell with the way she treats people... but Sascha greatly values Dyna, as both a partner-in-crime and a sort of found family. She wishes he’d loosen up a little. But if he’s so worried about her dying... she’ll just have to prove him she won’t, right? How insulting that he’d think she’s that weak!
Ponzu's known Merida for quite sometime through the shared interest in gacha games. The two of them are in the same guild for the game in question and, due to that, talk frequently in the guild's server.
Given the general setup of the crew that Brook was assigned to work with, she...well, actually, it came to a bit of surprise to see herself tasked with watching over the others. In fact, behind that stern face was someone a bit terrified! What if someone got hurt!? The very idea terrified her, and Ferelith absolutely made all those fears a very real possibility. Still, she took the secondary job with as much gusto as she could manage, and while she wasn't keen on conversing more than she had to, she genuinely appreciated Ferelith's company.
By virtue of proximity and personality, Brook has been strong armed by the universe into the position of Ferelith's babysitter. Oblivious to the great pains Brook undertakes to keep her alive, Ferelith continues doing what she wants at any given time, but does have a lot of respect for Brook as a fellow soldier and as a friend. If Ferelith has figured out that Brook has all the social skills of a wet napkin, she sure hasn't let on, and easily carries any given interaction entirely too far in spite of Brook's usual silence through sheer force of eagerness whether Brook likes it or not.
