✴️Personality✴️

Starts too many projects at once and never really drops the ones that he gets bored of. This wouldn't be that big of a problem if most of his projects involve convoluted spells that only he really gets the mechanics of. One such neglected project resulted in Aru-Raja. Joon-ho isn't aware of how much of a universe wide problem Aru-Raja becomes. All he knows if that he succeeded in what he set out to do, however now he has to worry about a dog ghost that hates him so very much.

🌕Backstory🌕

I think I'm having him born in the 1950's or 60's

Everyone in his world can do magic to some extent. Necromancy requires (for practicality/safety) the ability to notice ghosts. It's an innate from birth skill like 90% of the time.

Got VERY into necromancy due to his grandfather. His grandfather devoted his life to studying and teaching magic and was an active member of the National Necromancer's Association.  Joon was very much his grandfather's favourite to the point that the man willed his house and all of belongings that were even vaguely used for studying magic.

Outside of summoning/banishing them, Joon rarely works with human ghosts. Does most of his studies with animal ghosts. Sounds more ethical, but all animal ghosts are amalgamates of human and an animal who died at close to the same time. Animal ghosts never happen under "good" circumstances. Animal ghosts at least are rarely sapient. Joon-ho is aware that a lot of his studies on necromancy are extremely morally dubious, but doesn't really care. He's not doing it to harm anyone so he doesn't consider it a real issue.

On thin ice with the government, banned from leaving an increasingly small area around his home. Has been to prison at least thrice. Joon by all means should still be in prison, but keeps getting let out since he doubles down on doing necromancy when locked up since he can't do anything else he normally does in a day.

Bases his life work on expounding Nikolai's theories on death and necromancy. Improves Nikolai's method of active casting necromancy and helps create a blended style of ritual and active casting that he uses for most of his spells. He is later considered one of the founders of New Necromancy.

🌫️Relationships🌫️

Has a bad relationship with his parents. They stopped visiting him after the first time he was arrested. After the Aru-Raja incident, they stopped contacting him. They'll still talk to them if he calls, but they don't interact with him otherwise.

Fantastic necromancer, debatably okay person. He never sets out to hurt anyone, but boy does he keep doing exactly that

Let's people call him just "Joon". Holds quiet grudges against people who repeatedly misspell his first name.

Joon-ho does not learn his lesson from the whole Aru-Raja incident and continues to make similar (albeit less disastrous) mistakes

During the time Joon is alive, necromancy is no longer against the law so he doesn't have symbols strongly associated with him and his style of necromancy like Nikolai does. That being said, symbols: dogs, moths, and concentric circles

He does manage to prolong his life in the same way Nikolai was doing for himself.

Joon very much could have hit the lich status that Nikolai got close to achieving except Joon is unwilling to kill the people necessary for the spell to work. Joon's irresponsible, but he is by no means a murderer like Nikolai.
