An understandably miserable person
A child of an angel and a human. His father disappeared when he was a baby and his mother died when he was a toddler. That being said, not all that upset that he never really knew his parents. Thinks of the woman who raised him, Nina, as his mother. However, he is pissed at his father for having him since the guy had to know how awful it is to be a nephal
Semi-forced to move to Hetaka. It's definitely easier to live there than amongst humans. However, he thinks angels are a bunch of pretentious pricks and hates having to live anywhere near them. Demons are okay, but on thin fucking ice. Aumriel finds the culture of Hetaka to be foreign and painfully grandiose. Angels operate on such a different time scale and needs. Very few angels understand that he can't be held to the same expectations as an angel. To him, angels come off as cruel. Most angels aren't meaning to be, it's just concept of mortality is such a strange idea they can't grasp it.
Cannot speak or understand the angelic language. It's physically impossible for anything other than an angel or some other 'divine' thing to speak. Aumriel wouldn't care that he couldn't speak or understand it, but the angels speak extremely loudly. It's like standing in the middle of an orchestra 24/7.
Extremely talented healing magic user
Aumriel is unusually old for a nephal. His body is slowly disintegrating, much like an angel's physically form does when they die, instead of aging like a human does. Later in life he does wear clothing specifically made to give his body more form to hide how much is missing.
Does eventually hire a demon to be a live-in caregiver. Aumriel does enjoy their company, but will not admit it to them.
He does NOT have albinism. Dude just has fair skin and light eyes. His hair has turned white from age.
Aumriel is deeply lonely, but purposefully keeps an emotional distance from others. He may he may hate where he lives and how he is treated, but still can't help but wish for someone to comfort and understand him. As well everyone around him now is easily going to out live him. Death is such a horrifying thing for angels and demons, Aumriel doesn't think it fair to make someone like him.
Personality Rough Draft
Personality: A healer with an absolutely terrible bedside manner. Cold and curt, Aumriel will not hesitate to tell even his patients to stop wasting his time and get to the point. His anger towards the world and existence is taken out on others. If it wasn't for his innate gift of being able to put angels and their children back together, no one would go out of their way to interact with someone so insufferable. He knows this and does not wish to change.
Aumriel hates his job. He hates that his patients often feel the need to ask him personal questions about his health. As if they have any right to know. Dealing with chronic pain, all he wants is to lay down and not see anyone, but if he wants to get by he's got to work.
With his declining health, Aumriel does rely on a live-in assistant. He despises having to rely on someone else to care of him, but understands he needs the help. Even though he'll never admit it out loud he's come to enjoy their company.
