June 4th-The Pulling Force

"Hey, Kosa, what do you think we should do about this?" Helios asked, referring to the odd sensation pulling the both of them outside the safety of their camp.

"I'm not sure, Helios. On the one hand, it doesn't.. feel evil. But on the other, we don't know if it's capable of hiding it's true intentions. This could very easily be a trap, but it could also be our salvation." Kosa answered, pacing back and forth in front of him. "I say we either ask one of the guardians, or just wait until someone in charge does and tells us what's going on."

"Yeah, you're right," Helios sighed, "This is why I brought you along."

"Hey!" She exclaimed, "I came through that portal with you because I... I felt like I do now." She said, coming to the slow realization that maybe this.. thing she was feeling wasn't too terribly awful.

Still, she reasonably had her doubts. After all, coming through the portal had brought them to that battle. And she couldn't really say that that was a blessing upon them. But she just couldn't shake the feeling that maybe, just maybe, they weren't being led astray. She sighed and sat down, having made her decision.

"I'm staying. If you want to go, you can. But I can't." She said.

"What? If you're staying I'm staying, Kosa, we're a team." He said, sitting down next to her.

"Thanks, Helios, but you really don't need to stay just because I do. I don't want to hold you back," She said, looking down at her paws.

"Kosa, love, I mean this in the nicest way possible when I say that that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard come out of your mouth. I love you, and I trust your judgement. If you don't think this thing is safe, then there's no way I'm leaving. I don't want to do that to you,"

Kosa nuzzled into Helios' mane, enjoying the perpetual warmth that seemed to emanate from it. She sighed contentedly.

"Hey, I've got an idea!" She exclaimed, jumping up and leading him into the woods, "Since we can't shake this feeling, why don't we at least try taking our mind off of it. I was thinking something music or art related?"

"What?"

"Yeah, like we could make instruments! You could hollow the pieces of wood out with your fire, and I could freeze it before it burns to a crisp." She said.

"That- actually sounds like a really good idea, Kosa." He said.

Smiling, she led him to a small clearing. The two of them began collecting wood. Once they felt they had enough, Helios started to hollow out some of the larger pieces. Kosa then carved the holes out, and made intricate markings and designs along the outside. They could really only figure out how to make filimbis, but they had fun. And it worked. The feeling was just about the farthest thing from their minds.

When they were done, Kosa thought it would be a good idea to try to teach Helios how to play. Honestly, she's not sure what she expected from him, but certainly not this.

Helios could not make a sound on this stupid instrument for the life of him. He had no idea how his mate was able to do it so easily, and even make it look fun. She tried to reassure him that he was doing great, but it really didn't help all too much.
