They believe that the dead are watched over in Ardhi ya Wafu by Amekufa. Their treatment is directly related to how they behaved while they were alive. When they arrive, their soul is weighed. The weight of a soul is increased with the number of bad deeds a lion has done. If they were a horrible lion, they would be banished to live in their own personalized hell until the weight of their sins has been lightened. If they were just an average lion, who didn't really do much, they were placed in the Pwani ya Abyssal, or the Abyssal Plain. It's a huge prairie that has a bunch of activities for the deceased, including painting, hunting, and a karaoke bar. If they were exceptionally good, they go to Mbingu. It's basically a personalized heaven. It usually looks like the lion's favorite place. There they are free to do whatever they want with minimal supervision. If the lion has been in contact with human things, they can be seen and used in Mbingu, and they can share their knowledge with others. The structure is very flexible, with spirits often moving within the levels.
