June 8th-Split in Judgement

"Kosa, what should we do?" Helios asked, pacing around a tree behind her.

"I don't know, Helios!" She exclaimed, "On the one paw, I do not trust that this goddess is who she says she is anymore, but on the other paw, I genuinely like the natives here, and I wouldn't feel right just up and abandoning them for a way home. I wish I had all the answers," she said, dropping her head and stopping.

"Well, ok. I have an idea. Let's go see what this thing pulling us is, and we can either decide who we agree with more, or just join those who were making their own neutral group, who believes in a balance between their ideas," he said, moving over to stand next to her.

"Yeah, yeah that's a good idea Helios. When will we be leaving?" She asked.

"I was thinking right now, if that's alright, love," He said, padding towards the pull of the forest.

She nodded and quickly caught up. As the two of them wandered further into the woods, following the thing that drew them in, she noticed that the forest seemed to be dying the further they went. The leaves had changed from a bright blue, to almost a sickly black, and the grass turned to dust as she stepped on it. Mushrooms started growing on most of the trees, indicating some kind of decay. She stepped closer to her mate, shivering slightly.

"I thought you didn't get cold," He said, amused.

She glared at him and just silently wrapped her tail around his. He purred gently and nuzzled her side reassuringly. She sighed quietly, and continued walking. Her ears pricked up when she heard voices. She glanced at Helios, who nodded back at her, and they ran towards the sound. They emerged in a clearing, similar to the one the Trinity Tree was in, but instead of a thriving tree with glowing blue markings, this one was sickly, with pale silver eyes that were barely visible. No leaves were visible on the branches that reached, almost like claws, up towards the darkening sky. Kosa noticed that there were cats and soldiers of decay scattered throughout the clearing, and while some of them were staring at her, most of them were preoccupied with training.

The pair cautiously approached the tree, planning on asking what its' motives were, and what it knew about the goddess.

Hello, why have you come here?

Kosa shivered slightly, ignoring Helios' amused glance at her. She wasn't a huge fan of telepathy.

"We have come across some information that has made us question our judgement of you and your motives," She started quietly, "All we ask is that you tell us what your intentions are, and what the goddess' are. She hasn't told us anything."

I suspected as such. The goddess... She believes in eternal life, and believes that death has no place among the world. And she is wrong...for all of life is a circle, and for new life to grow, she must be shown so...

"I see..." Helios muttered, "Thank you for this information. We hope that you will respect our decision, whether we come back, or not. We do not share the same views as the goddess, so we will not be joining her. If we don't return, please assume that we either ran away, or that we have joined forces with a different group who shares both of your beliefs, in moderation, of course," He says, barely saving himself at the end, noting the enraged look that seemed to appear in the gods' eyes. Turning away and gesturing for Kosa to follow him, he headed back into the forest, the odd sensation that had been drawing them to the forest had released its' grip on them entirely.

Kosa looked up at him nervously. This was the first time he had ever acted so... cold. That was usually her job.

"Let's make our choice, love," She said quietly.

"What do you think on the matter, Kosa?" He asked.

"Hmmm. I certainly don't agree with the goddess," She started, noting the approving look Helios gave her, "But I'm not too sure. Assuming that this new tree simply wants to kill everything, then I say we join a third party group. And I mean, the tree is called the Trinity Tree, that could mean that there's a third one."

Helios nodded at that statement, "Well then, seems we have our answer," he said, grinning before turning and walking away from the new tree.

"Helios? Where are you going?"

"To go find us a third tree, love!" He called over his shoulder.
